This is so far the most advanced, best featured mind map application on the iPhone. V 1.3 allows all the important things: you can choose colors, you can drag nodes and re-attach them (or cut and paste, ol' school), you can simply email an outline (text), you can import AND export outlines into your iPhone with a simple WiFi connection in a very compatible format. Oh, and you can add icons (or not) and also include multiple lines in a node. MindMaker is a bit prettier, and for a quick and dirty getting it out of your head, it works great. But this app is a real mindmap application. I use it now all the time. One issue I have is a problem with the rendering (the font is not as crisp as in other apps, it is pretty pixelated when you pinch and zoom in) - something the developers who are very responsive to email will address, I'm sure. Give it a try. And then another. You will stick with it.

A very nice simple mind map application, with the emphasis on simple. The lack of color management is an issue, as is the lack of an ability to implement more complex structures. If you create a mind map with another program and try to import it, do not expect to see more advanced features show up.

Dont let the ugly icon deter you. The is handedly the best brainstorming app on the app store. I was unsure till I checked out their blog and saw that it was regularly updated.. So happy I downloaded it. Very customizable and super-intuative. My only gripes that come to mind are the icon (it's hideous) and the way font scaling is handled (this might be difficult to resolve I suppose but would really like to see it happen). The is a front-page app so appearance really counts for me. Either come up with something more attractive or hire a professional (preferably pixel) artist to handle it for you. Aside from that this app is incredible. Don't get fooled by some of the other mindmap apps with prettier icons - they pale in comparison to this one!

I have used this program more than any other productivity tool on my iPhone. Works better for me than any list maker or to-do program for getting constructive ideas out of my head. Works well with Freemind on the desktop. Moving files between iPhone and machine is very easy on Mac and Windows (reccomand installing Bonjour on Windows).

They have added some many thinks to this all that have looked at this app and others needs to come back an look at it again, you now can add notes and URLs to any thougths. Notes allow you to put the main thought in the cloude and then more/extencive information in the note or add an URL. I use this app at least once a day if not several for note taking in meeting. GREAT APP

This is a near perfect app. It looks clean and it's super easy to use. It's almost hard for me to believe how much more organized my life is after only using this for a week or so. I absolutely love how easy it is to sync up with Freemind.

I've only dug into this a little, but it's a superb app so far. The first thing I did was import a FreeMind map from my work computer - the import process was painless and quick, and aside from dropping the flag icons, the map ported cleanly. I've left one star off because the program seems to have some trouble tracking when moving a node from one parent to another - a function which I use extensively when re-ordering my thoughts. To get it to work properly, I have to pull the one I want to move it onto faaar away from all others, then free the child node and drag it quickly to the new parent. Not a complete buzz kill, but a little clumsy.

iThoughts would have been the best mindmapping mobile tool if it had an option of interrelating the nodes. As of now, if you have a node already tied up to another node, it is impossible to draw a line between that node and a node different from that which is already related. Other than that, the app is great and has a plenty of potential.

Usefull and well designed app worth the $, maybe a few more options as to bubble shape and size but seriously that icon has to go it's ugly perhaps just the lightbulb, can't wait for the update!

This really is a great app, not perfect, but very functional. It has made my iPod into something very useful, not just a fun cool toy. Great for putting ideas down where writing is impractical. It is certainly killer app to me.

I bought this an ibluesky. This wins hands down in terms of usability, stability, and sync capabilities. The updates even make things better! One suggestion to the developer is to allow sharing management. ( View, delete of shared maps. )

I'm more of a paper mind-mapper than a computer one, with no-nonsense, steam-of-consciousness & quick tactile drawing output, instant edits via pencil erasures, and lines interconnecting multiple related items in a 'non-linear outlining' manner. But I must say this tool has some very Apple-like elegance in its implementation, giving different layers of viewing (hidden children, attached notes, etc.) and ultra-easy movement of elements. A really big thumbs-up.

I don't usually write reviews, but this program really is one of best apps I have seen, bar none. I have a decent amount of experience with mindmapping on my desktop, and was happy they had any programs at all for iPod Touch. I thought iBlueSky is decent, but limited, and then I tried this...FANTASTIC!!--Leaves that othet program in the dust. So well thought out and designed in many areas-the developers really deserve props for doing this right. This doesn't feel like 'mindmapping lite'-this is the real deal. Maps as big as you want. Easy to reorganize and combine maps into 'mega-maps. Good looking maps. Ability to hide/unhide branches. Very well executed notes. Easy to share maps. Quick text entry. Just great-and updates that bring new, useful functions. Well done.

This mimdmapper is a full featured and even rivals the desktop mindmappers out there. I tried iBluesky and several others. This is by far the best and can be used for work! Plan, brainstorm, task manager etc. I used freemind for the desktop and I must say I wish they come out with an IThoughts for the desktop as well. Best investment in app store so far. Also they constantly update this app with features!

I'd sort of given up on anyone writing a mind mapping app for the iPhone that would actually be useful: Mind mapping and a very small screen seem to be by nature incompatible.

They have done a very good job

I've held off on getting a mindmap app on the iPhone until now -- and this is well worth the wait. Simple, intuitive, powerful and continuing to develop. Imports OPML easily into Curio -- a pure delight.

IThoughts has a clean intuitive interface that allows for quick brain dumps as well as impromptu brainstorming sessions. Additionally, the developer seems actively involved in the continued improvement of this application which is never a bad sign. I would highly recommend this app.

This helps you to lower your stress and fear daily. Maping your thoughts is the best to see how your right and left brain interacts.

No question that the developers have earned 5 stars for this little app. Very clean and functional, usable with scarce need for directions... though you'll want to have a look to learn the simple gestures for aligning groups and using the crosshair. Videos on the developer's site show everything you need to know. Reading the blog I see that more features are coming, so the next challenge for the developers is to add those features judiciously, without complicating the use of the app. The real beauty of this is that everything can be manipulated with just a few taps, with familiar pinch and spread gestures for zooming in and out. The ability to collapse groups is also very nice. Worth the price!

I am enjoying this app very much. The ability to add notes to your topics is great. You can easily edit and move topics around. Haven't tried the export stuff yet, but on the iPod it's working well. Lots of style options. Looks like a better choice than ibluesky.

I never thought it would be so easy to generate mindmaps on the iPhone (I assumed with such a small screen it would be very difficult to do, not so with iThoughts!)

This app (iThoughts) is worth every penny and then some. If I had to, I'd pay ten times what they're asking to buy this program. I can't recommend it enough. Mindmapping is an easy way to visibly organize anything you've got in your brain. It can be done for free with a pencil and paper - Google it if you've never tried it. However, I've found that mindmapping on the iPhone with iThoughts is infinitely better than using paper...it's a central, known location that's unlikely to get eaten by the dog or thrown in the recycling bin by mistake. It is so much more efficient and effective than lists and outlines for my to-dos, projects, event planning, and brainstorming. I also have one map called "random thoughts" that I use frequently to get ideas out of my head and into an organized, secure format that I can deal with (or not deal with) later. No more notes on the back of envelopes, post-its, etc. Several friends and I use this app and have found it incredible for "ADD-ish" / creative / disorganized adults AND children. Maps can be emailed to yourself or others to be stored elsewhere or printed out. The price of iThoughts nearly prevented me from buying it (I like free stuff). I am so thankful I purchased it.

I'm a Personal Brain user and so am familiar with the mind mapping concept, but iThoughts is so easy to use that I don't think it would have taken me much longer even if I'd had a learning curve. It produced a nice, clean document that made it easy to discuss a complex problem in a meeting. The outline email is a useful option for people who prefer a hierarchical organization. The multiple formats are great - I installed FreeMind on my PC in under ten minutes, and was able to open and print the *.mm file perfectly.

Had a slightly difficult time figuring out how to export and import other maps, in addition I noticed that the youtube video has options that my downloaded version didn't. Imapping software was difficult to upload such as mindjet or the brain (types of mindmapping). But overall it seems an ok application.

Awesome app! Nice and clean! Of course there are some options I would like to see in future updates and I have already brought it to there attention which they responded quite quickly. But it was only a matter with the colors when using a black layout. I tried other mindmaps and this one is simply the best! Simple and fast!

Powerful and nice. Expecting more icons compatible with Freemind's

Very well done. Only minor complaint is a small lag in the redraw of the connector lines when dragging the shapes. I would love to see some enhancements in the area of task management such as push notifications and syncing with Google calendar.

This program used to be tied with headspace for the best mind manager, but the latest release has put it into clear 1st place. The others would not even be useful if they were free.

I have been a fan of these kinds of apps since 1980. I read all Tony Buzan books about mindmapping. He was the actual creator of mindmapping. I think he has a product that he sells to do this but it is expensive. This app allows you to have the power of mindmapping now! I love it. I am good at creating maps, and this app works with mindjet, which is an amazing mindmanager program. I like the audio add in idea stated by another reviewer. I bought all the apps like this and this is the real deal.

Love the export feature (for me, it's iThoughts to Freemind to importing into Personal Brain; a little klunky and inconvenient, but way better than nothing). Was momentarily excited about the new icons, until I saw them. Holy cow, are they ugly. Plus, 12 of the 28 are doom and gloom -- red cards, bombs, explosions, fire, thumbs-down, warning flags. There are so many negative icons in the mix that I feel rather sorry for the developers' life experience. I also take back what I said about the logo. It's still awful, but having seen the new icons, I'm scared that a redesign would be worse.
