Recently, TUAW posted about how Mobile Mouse could be used with Siri for iPhone-to-Mac remote dictation. While trying it out, I grew annoyed by transposition errors at the start of my text. So I decided to put several similar solutions to the test. What Mobile Mouse Pro ($1.99), RowMote Pro ($4.99), Edovia's TouchPad ($4.99), and Splashtop Touchpad (Free, normally $4.99) have in common is that each app provides a way to send mouse events and key strokes to your Mac. For this post, we decided not to test full screen sharing apps like iTeleport and LogMeIn due to the more extensive set-up involved. (iTeleport offers a similar $0.99 Touchpad Elite app, but we were unable to get a copy in time for this write-up.) To test them, I dictated the same text sample into TextEdit, courtesy of the iTunes Terms and Conditions. To do this, I connected each app to my Read More
Splashtop Remote for Mac and iOS: An unbeatable combo
Calendar16 Sun, 23 Jan 2011 22:00:00 UTC +00:00
I've tried just about every remote control application under the sun. iTeleport, LogMeIn Ignition, Mocha VNC and TeamViewer have all been on my iOS devices at one time or another. When I recently heard about Splashtop Remote, my initial thought was to delete the email about it and move on. Fortunately, my curiosity got the best of me. Like most remote control apps, Splashtop comes in two pieces -- the free Splashtop Remote Server part that runs on the target computer (either Mac or Windows), and a client app for iOS. The Mac server is still in beta, while the Windows piece has been in place for a while. The iOS apps run US$1.99 each for the iPhone and iPad versions, and there is a free time-limited (5 minutes per connect session) version for iPad that is useful for just trying out the app. That's probably my biggest complaint right now Read More
iTeleport rebajado a 7,99€ en la App Store
Calendar16 Thu, 20 Jan 2011 20:42:51 UTC +00:00
Precio: 7,99€ Read More
Best Utilities of 2010
Calendar16 Tue, 21 Dec 2010 13:43:00 UTC +00:00
With all the utilities and useful tools found on the App Store it’s hard to know what’s useful and what’s just digital junk. We’ve put together a short list or our favorites just to make it a bit easier for you to find some stuff that you may actually like. Some of these Apps are practical (remote), others are things we ourselves use everyday (iTeleport) and others are just fun little Apps that we enjoy from time to time (App Stream). Why not take a look at our list of Best App Store Utilities  of 2010? iTeleport is a pricey little App, but we love the heck out of it. It gives you VNC access from your iPad to your computer. In English, that means it lets you control your computer (seeing the desktop and everything on your iPad) remotely on the iPad screen. It takes a little bit of getting Read More
Screens: nieuwe VNC-client voor iPhone en iPad
Calendar16 Tue, 14 Dec 2010 08:32:47 UTC +00:00
VNC-Client ‘Screens’ mit ‘Back to my Mac’-Optik
Calendar16 Tue, 14 Dec 2010 09:04:47 UTC +00:00

iPad, schmipad, give me a MacBook Air on the road
Calendar16 Thu, 02 Dec 2010 21:30:00 UTC +00:00
This morning Erica asked me to take a look at a post she had written about how well the iPad works as a laptop replacement. Although I agree with many of the points she makes in the post, I have to vehemently disagree with the entire idea that an iPad can be a true laptop replacement in times of need. On another vacation last week (yeah, I know it seems like I'm always on vacation), I found myself really wishing for a MacBook Air or even my old white plastic MacBook so I could get some real work done (yeah, I know I shouldn't work on vacation). Here are my counterpoints to Erica's points, and yes, we're still friends. Getting Back To Your Mac: Sure, LogMeIn Ignition and iTeleport are great, and I have them on my iPad. But I try to use them as sparingly as possible and never to Read More

We’ve been covering some of the new and notable iOS 4 updates as we find them going live in the App Store, but Apple’s new Awesome iOS 4 Apps section in the iTunes App Store has just made that task a little easier. Check them out to see Apple’s favorites, and hit the jump to see some more of ours… I think Bejeweled 2 was one of the first games I downloaded (ok that’s probably an exaggeration), but it’s one of the ones that sticks in my head as an all time favorite. It’s extremely addicting and links up with Bejeweled Blitz so if you have Facebook, you can show off your scores on Facebook as well. Bejeweled 2 has added fast app switching support as of now. An incredibly useful app just got even more useful. Instapaper has added multitasking support as of now and say they’ll have more updates Read More
Editor-in-Chief, iLounge Published: Monday, June 14, 2010 Category: iPod, iPhone, and iPad Gems: Apps, Games + More Welcome to this week’s first edition of iPhone + iPad Gems. Today, we’re looking at an interesting and relatively well-rated collection of iPad applications that are all either based upon earlier iPhone apps or arriving in forms that are both iPad- and iPhone-compatible. They range in purpose from news readers and remote computer access software to Twitter and educational tools. The top-rated apps this week are iTeleport, Osfoora HD, and Reeder for iPad. 5 iPhone Apps to Boost Productivity
Calendar16 Tue, 27 Apr 2010 21:36:47 UTC +00:00
This post originally appeared on the American Express OPEN Forum, where Mashable regularly contributes articles about leveraging social media and technology in small business. According to a new report from RingCentral, 34% of small business users surveyed said that they use their smartphone more than their computer to conduct business. That may sound crazy, but think about it — a high-end smartphone is about as powerful as a desktop or laptop computer that many of us had in our offices about six or seven years ago. Plus, a smartphone brings instant access to the Internet no matter where you are. However, thanks to the iPhone and the rise of app stores, it’s mobile applications that can really help turn a smartphone into a workstation on the go. Last month, I wrote about 14 terrific iPhone apps for small business users. However, with more than 185,000 apps in the iTunes App Store, Read More
iTeleport VNC App Goes Universal
Calendar16 Tue, 27 Apr 2010 13:03:41 UTC +00:00
Posted 04/27/2010 at 5:03am | by J.R. Bookwalter One of the best VNC apps for the iPhone has finally made the jump to a universal app, complete with native iPad support. If you have a need to keep an eye on your computer’s screen -- be it in another room of your house or halfway around the world -- one of the best solutions to date has been iTeleport (formerly Jaadu VNC). Though a bit on the pricey side at $24.99, iTeleport has been well received among the iTunes crowd. iTeleport was ready on iPad launch day with a separate (and equally costly) app dedicated to that device’s larger screen, but existing iTeleport users were instructed to wait a bit for a true universal app that would work with both the iPhone and iPad. That day has finally arrived, complete with a few extra features to boot. In addition to native Read More
Hospitals eye the iPad for low-cost paperless records
Calendar16 Wed, 03 Feb 2010 15:00:00 UTC +00:00
Unless you have absolutely no imagination, you've probably noticed the resemblance of the iPad to one of those cheap little clipboards that your friendly neighborhood doctor carries around on rounds. Apple is rumored to be making its own rounds of hospitals marketing the new über-iPod touch, having visited a hospital in LA in the recent weeks. What's so great about tablets for health care? When connected to a Wi-Fi network, they're perfect for looking up medical information or working patient charts while on the move. The iPad in particular would be perfect, having no keyboard to disinfect or lid hinges to break. In addition, the most expensive Wi-Fi iPad is priced at just US$699, while many traditional Windows Tablet PCs used in health care start in the neighborhood of $2,000. Of course, it all depends on the software. We recently received a question from a reader who just happens to be Read More

iPhone Remote Control Apps: Reach Out and Touch Your Mac
Calendar16 Fri, 02 Oct 2009 17:00:09 UTC +00:00
Isn’t it the dream of every slacker to sit in bed, or at the beach, and make it appear like you are putting a full day at the office? Well, there’s an app for that. Enter the variety of remote control apps for the iPhone, which let you operate your desktop Mac from your iPhone as if you were sitting in front of it. Some of these apps use the common VNC protocol to allow remote control, and others use their own proprietary methods. All of them will let you control your Mac (or a PC) from your iPhone. Jaadu is the most polished and powerful of all the iPhone remote control clients. It offers SSH encrypted VNC, which is a key feature if you connect to your Mac via public Wi-Fi networks, although the SSH encryption in Jaadu doesn’t operate with Snow Leopard Macs (Jugari promises a fix soon). The actual remote Read More

LOVE THIS APP!
wrizacked 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Well, I didn't know for sure what to do when I saw this app. Should I buy it and risk losing $25 because I don't know how to make it work? Will it only work on my home network, and not away from home where I need it the most? I bit the bullet and bought it.
Far superior to Mocha
ChronoSoft 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Just purchased this the instant it was released. I used Mocha VNC (Full Version) prior to this. Teleport is MUCH better in layout and usability. Also love the little "wormhole" effect while connecting! Really nice touch, also highly recommended for access to screens beyond 1600x1200 (Mocha's limit)... Works with Windows XP and TightVNC no problems at all...
DO NOT BUY NO REALVNC
gomezaz 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Contacted developer confirmed does not work with realVNC. $25 shame on them
IT WORKS
123457789900- 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
It works great I own a resturant and I am able to look at my camera system from anywhere... my life just got better... thank you
Major Bugs and Bad Tech Support
Dark_Matter 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app crashes every time i try to use it, the website is "Under Construction", and it is over priced. I think that this version should be considered a beta.
cost 2.5x other app, but worse in some respects
jflamm 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
Scrolling is choppy and opposite iPhone convention (and opposite the other application). Maybe this is a result of larger scrolling capabilities, but I find the other application smoother and more pleasant to use in this respect.
Worlds of potential....
jvadnais 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Wow. This is going to be great when it's bug-free.
Very useful and solid
ablemaire 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This program is excellent. The interface is smooth just like the iPhone, pinch and drag to move around on the desktop. Very useful, keeps my laptop in the case when I need to do a quick dialin to my terminal server at the office.
Outstanding!
EddyGeez! 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
FYI: I just purchased Teleport this morning and the "About" box says it is v1.1 (although the App Store still says 1.0)
Read closely
MrAceFrehley 1.0 stars Version: 1.2
You'll be paying the difference to the regular price when you update or reinstall after promo. Good if you plan on keeping this version though.
Great Applicaton!
kodd3ath 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I dove right in and this application was easy to set-up. Within two minutes I was connected to my computer and using my iPhone as a replacement for the MBP's trackpad. Support for multi-gestures would be nice, maybe in an update. Overall, a good base. The program is solid and works well when you're zooming in and out.
This is Touchpad Pro!
Duke Beurtington 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
The ONLY reason that I jailbroke my iPhone was for Touchpad Pro. Now the same developers came out and topped themselves. A few points that I would like to make:
Outstanding
holmespun 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Wow. This one is a winner. I used other VNC options and had settled for what I thought VNC on an iPhone could be, but I was wrong. Teleport is absolutely awesome! It is fast, intuitive and easy to use. Very glad I took a chance with this one and don't regret the amount spent for one minute. I will use this app frequently to connect to my Macs. Doesn't seem to work with Linux in my initial tests, but I'm sure that's something that can be worked out.
One of the best iPhone apps yet
Bob P. 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Not only is this an elegant and well-written app, but it works surprisingly well on the iPhone. To make it an even bigger success, the support is second to none; when I had my screen resolution set to millions and Teleport set to thousands, I couldn't see some of my servers; not only did their tech support help me to find the issue, but they are adding new features that will autmatically resolve this problem when settings don't match properly. I HIGHLY recommend this app.
excellent
foye 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
well i tried the vnc mocha and to hard to get around . so i just bit the bullet and it paid off . this is the kinda program was looking for . i can get to every file fairly quickly. and is quite smooth. worth the money to get a polished app. all you need is to download tight vnc on your computer and set it up with a password. bada bing bada boom your there browsen away. me likes .
Great app, even better for mac users
Fever Pitch 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app kicks you no what! I first purchased mocha vnc and it was all but unusable, even over wi fi. Teleport screams over Wi Fi. I immediately got use to the control scheme and totally see the reasoning and logic behind it.
Highly Useful and Well Executed
OrBot 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is a must-have for those who need a fast and convenient method to access systems. Would like to see encrypted connections in a future release. Excellent UI, nice execution- uses iPhone gestures to great effect, but can have keyboard access and function keys too. Extends capability greatly. Nice work! I'm impressed!
Update on my review
Bear_Hunter 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
Just wanted to update my review.
Brilliant
XanderMac 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Works amazingly well, even on edge. Two finger scrolling even works, albeit slowly. Excellent interface allows for keyboard modifier input. Excellent app in general.
Awesome VNC client
Ryan, 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
This vnc app rocks. I can connect to my servers using the builtin iPhone cisco VPN client to give me remote access to my internal network. I connected to Windows 2003, OSX Xserves, and Linux servers all running various vnc servers. I am very impressed with the navigation and speed. The problem with the limited resources error is annoying, but force quitting safari/mail does get it working again. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future release.
Fell for promo, VERY DISSAPPOINTED
Escandalo 2.0 stars Version: 1.2
As an owner of Touchpad Pro I received an email from "their support" advocating Jaadu VNC. Comparred to Touchpad, Jaadu screen quality lacks a lot and screen update is inconsistant at best.
Not bad
tbsp 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
pretty good attempt to make a PCAnywhere clone - but response is slow regardless of WIFI or 3G. Still waiting for PCAnywhere to create an app for the iPhone.
Perfect Price- Perfect App
kalmichael 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
For $24.99 I was not going to get it. Now for $4.99 - I Got it! It works great on my mac. Dragging is amazing- The Speed is amazing. It automatically connects once sharing is on and VNC password is set.
No free update?
Knowa 1.0 stars Version: 1.1
After paying 25 bucks for an app I expect free updates.. What's up with that? Otherwise it's be a 4 star app easily. .
Worth it
Ben428 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Smart design. Takes some getting used to, but much more useful than Mocha VNC. You can actually navigate menus.
Flawless, well developed, Great support
JFabsits 5.0 stars Version: 2.0.1
I had some connection issues at first, I emailed support and they were quick to respond(minutes). Due to the fact I am connecting to 2 buisness locations with a buisness class high speed Internet modem, some adjustments were needed to the DNZ and firewall settings on the modems. I was given explicit instructions from jaadu, contacted my service provider, made the necessary changes and BAM!! I'm up and running. The program works exactly as described and expected, regardless if I'm on wifi, 3g or edge. I have used this app on all 3. I'm able to type contracts, check trips on my database, print and fax, all from my pc using my phone. You can believe the hype, this app is mind boggling-amazing technology and worth more than 25 peanuts. If you must access your pc while away from the office or home and be able to use all of your features or data on your pc than download this app NOW. I have experienced no flaws in the app, very well developed. If your having connection issues I can personally guarantee you it is just a matter of one time configuration adjustments needed with your pc, router or modem and not with this app. Once your up and running properly, everyone will agree with my review. Buyers be aware of which app you purchase, RDP is nice for the streaming audio but not necessary and only works on certain operating systems, check compatability prior to purchase at jaadurdp.com. VNC works for all pc's, it just does not feature streaming audio, that's what your music player is for on your phone. Serious users in need for an app like this will be overjoyed with the quality and performance. Great job to all developers involved. I plan on sending alot of iPhone users your way!! My iPhone is now a laptop what's next?
Upset that there's two programs
Rushedinlove 1.0 stars Version: 2.0.1
I was going to give this app five stars until I stumbled upon two apps .. I wish on the info they would put that there is a jaadu remote desktop application that streams audio and video !! I would of purchased that instead of the jaadu vnc because my computer is able to run that program .. The vnc is great but I would LOVE the audio and video part that the other app has =[ An update would be nice to have on this app .. Hope whoever is reading this picks the right app if their computer is compatible ..  
Best app ever!
Jfpython 5.0 stars Version: 3.0
What else is there to say? I have an iMac and within 5 minutes of downloading this app, it was working flawlessly. Sure, it is more expensive than other apps, but the difference is that Jaadu actually works! Refresh rate is manageable on 3G and nearly perfect on wifi.
