As a video platform, Vimeo has always played second fiddle to YouTube. Yet, Vimeo does attract a more professional grade of videographer and often the contents of Vimeo are much more polished than the much uploaded to YouTube from millions of would-be Internet stars. Vimeo finally has a new app for iOS and Android and it is everything you would expect from the platform in terms of quality video and performance. Users can view videos, manage their accounts and upload all from one app. The Android version of Vimeo requires 2.3 Gingerbread or above. Producteev (Free - iOS, Android) Talk about cross-platform. Producteev is a task manager available for Macs and Windows PCs, iOS and Android, IM and email. It is basically everywhere. Rate everything mobile app Jotly comes to Android Market

You may’ve heard about Jotly, a new mobile app that lets you rate everything. Yes that’s right everything – not just food, sights, movies or books – everything, including girls on the street, after-noon weather and every single tree in a park — EVERYTHING! Up until this moment it was available for the iPhone users only, but now Android users can join the party too. It’s free to download and aside from allowing you to rate stuff around you, you can naturally see what others are saying. Personally I like the idea of having a single app for “all my rating needs”; However, Firespotter (maker of Jotly) has its own special app for rating dishes (not places). So are they uncertain of the Jotly’s prospects or what? In their promo video, which you’re about to see, they argue Jotly is the only rating app you’ll need, suggesting you should delete all Read More
I’m beginning to think the team at Firespotter Labs are marketing geniuses. Prior to launching their new iPhone app Jotly (you know, as a joke), they released a hilarious video featuring a “fake” app by the same name. In the video, a guy goes around rating things like parking meters, hiding spots, ice cubes, and a beer in the alley that was left in the sun (F-, if you’re curious). The video was meant to be a parody of our mobile/social app obsession, and perhaps our culture’s tendency towards over-sharing. It also was strikingly similar to Kevin Rose’s Oink, which launched soon after. But here’s the thing: Jotly is no longer a joke. The company (also the maker of Nosh), has just released the Android version of Jotly. And an API, too. Hey, wait. That’s not a joke – two apps and an API? That’s actually a bit of work. Of course, when I asked about Read More
