Apparent Corporations Doxie scanner has been a hit since it arrived a few years back. It's small, lightweight, and pretty well perfect for mobile use. Im vergangenen Herbst waren es gerade einmal fünf Millionen. Die iPhone- und iPad-App (kostenlos; App Store-Link) genießen an diesem Zuwachs sicherlich ihren (kleinen) Anteil. This is just a quick update to inform other JotNot users that the app now properly interfaces with Dropbox, the cloud-based folder syncing service for your Mac or PC. The news came directly from someone at Dropbox and I can confirm that I was able to log right into my account. All you need to do is enter your username (e-mail address) and password once and then throw your scanned document into the Dropbox folder of your choice. You can’t create new folders from within JotNot, but there’s always the free, official Dropbox app for that. There's certainly no shortage when it comes to iPhone apps that turn your device into a pocket-sized scanner. At various times, TUAW bloggers have reviewed or discussed Readdle ScannerPro [US$6.99 (currently on sale for US$4.99), iTunes Link], DocScanner [US$8.99, iTunes Link], and JotNot [US$4.99, iTunes Link]. Of course, there is also a flock of business card scanners, but what I'm discussing in this post are the apps that say that they'll replace that flatbed scanner on your desk with a device you already have in your pocket or purse. I took a look at JotNot Lite a little while ago and my conclusion was pretty ambiguous. I wasn’t totally sure of what the full feature of the app would offer over the Lite, aside from a ‘save scan’ button (you have to take a screenshot in Lite) and Evernote integration. Afterwards the developers graciously offered us a promo code so we could see the whole package, and I was pretty surprised how much more was included in the “real” JotNot. There are quite a few more switches, options, and a deeper integration with Evernote than I had initially anticipated. Same Same, But Different JotNot and its Lite cousin are essentially the same beast when it comes down to the actual “scanning” of an image.
