Description

Key Wiz is a great way to learn & improve reading for piano.

Quiz yourself on reading Bass, Treble, or both staves within four octaves. A Note appears on the staff, you play the note on the piano. Play the correct key and a new note appears. Get it wrong and you'll be shown the correct key.

Monitor your progress on the history page: Key Wiz keeps track of your fastest times for each staff, and the number of right and wrong attempts you've ever made for each note. Quality piano samples are played with each piano key.

Found footage: 6 iPhones almost make a full keyboard
Calendar16 Tue, 15 Dec 2009 18:00:00 UTC +00:00
A piano has 88 keys, and this arrangement of iPhones comes pretty close (we counted 84). The pianist has six iPhones laid out in a row starting from a low C and progressing through 5 octaves. As a result, he can play a nice piece of music on very tiny, touch-sensitive keys. That takes a good bit of dexterity. He has obviously been doing his Hanon exercises. There are a number of piano apps in the App Store, including Pocket Piano [iTunes link], Virtuoso Piano [iTunes link] and Mini Piano [iTunes link]. We can't tell which app is being used here, but the UI closely resembles that of Mini Piano. Budding artists may wish to practice piano with GarageBand '09 or work on sight reading with Key Wiz [iTunes link]. [Via Swiss Miss] Read More

Great way to brush up on site reading
Primogen 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
Finally, a way to brush up reading sheet music! These are great little excersices that can be done anywhere, and don't take more than a few minutes at a time. Great sampling too!
A fun way to brush up on my skills.

Easy to use and I love the color feedback when I pick a wrong note. It makes the program useable both with and without sound!
Four Octaves!
HaoleLauli 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
Finally, a reading quiz with more than 1 octave on the keyboard.
Great App!

Very easy to use, I can finally refresh my old reading skills, thanks.
Awesome!!!
SheShe2009 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
Just what I've been looking for. I like how you have to find the answer directly on the piano, rather than the multiple choice setup on most apps. It really does improve your sight-reading skills!!!
Great App
Pingostarr 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This is a great app and is actually extremely helpful. But please make a play mode where you can just play the 4 octave piano without being quizzed. Also, if you could make the individual treble and bass quizzes recenter middle C lower and higher respectively and test 4 ledger lines above and below the staff... This program would be unbeatable. I would recommend it to all of my students and colleagues. Thanks so much!
