I was excited to see that this app's dictionary is based upon Whitaker's Words. I have the Mac version of Whitaker's Words on my laptop and it is quite useful. As to the iPhone app, by virtue of the rich word list it inherits from Whitaker's Words, it is quite excellent.

Would be AWESOME if it did English to Latin as well. Also, sentence translation would be nice. This would be the ultimate Latin app is it could dothose two things.

Awesome helps a lot but needs a sentence translator

all of the other Latin-English apps lacked the declensions and conjugations. this app has a larger spread of words available too. I've noticed a lot of "not found" errors in others but this is great! I look forward to updates :D. the only problem is that it's not too graphically appealing. still nice though

Put full declentions Add in the genders

Based on Whitaker's free Latin Words program, this $5 app brings Whitaker's sizeable vocabulary to the iPhone, but with a few limitations: 1. It's cheaper and a better value than other iPhone Latin dictionaries, but not free like Whitaker's Words. 2. It lacks Whitaker's parsing/ conjugating/ declining functionality. Nevertheless, if you want a moderately large Latin glossary on your iPhone, this is probably the best thing currently out there.

I love this app... It helped me a lot through Latin class. However, it also needs some new features. First of all, you should be able to search an English word and it find the Latin word to match. Second, declension and gender should be clearly defined and not confusing like it is now. Third, some charts would be helpful, such as noun endings for each declension (like puella is the nominative singular version, puellae is the genitive singular, etc.) and verb endings (such as amo means 'i love' while amabo means 'i will love') and the active and passive forms for every declension. A t-chart works wonders for these. Also, infinitive and subjunctive forms of each declension would be very helpful. That part of Latin is very tough.

Really great app. If you need Latin help you should buy. I give it 5 stars even though it should do English to Latin also. It is very accurate and you should trust that it is correct

A great app for Latin classes. I've already tried two dictionaries before I got this one. At first I thought it's too simple but after some time I understood it's the most useful and easiest app and I don't need anything else.
