Slick App! Amazing Teacher!
Travis Fischer 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This application is really slick and easy to use. It's a great way to start learning the guitar. Jen is a fantastic teacher. The material covered is thorough. It's really nice to have the lessons laid out in an easy to access format on my iPad. It's perfect for practicing guitar. I can't wait for more Jen Trani guitar apps. It's nice to use the check-boxes to keep track of what you have mastered and see your progress.
Best way to learn guitar

Pretty cool videos. I wish it could download though. My Internet is slow
Slick app, great teacher!

It's been years since I picked up my guitar, and I was never that good to begin with so I didn't mind starting over. This app was great! Interface is good, videos are awesome, and Jen makes the lessons interesting. I really like the "Course Progress Tracker" function; I don't have time to practice every night, it's nice just to open it up whenever I have a few minutes and pick up where I left off (I know, probably not the best way to learn.)
Love it!

Super easy to use and easy to follow! Cannot wait for the next app in the series!
It's like free guitar lessons in your own home
Todd Epp 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Ok, let's think about this for a minute. If you could get an app that provides an engaging, accomplished, and effective teacher, contains six free, highly produced video lessons, and it might actually teach you how to play the guitar, at least a little, how much would you pay for it? Well, Learn Guitar has all these things and it costs $0.99. Yes, only $0.99. It's a steal. Ok, sure, they are You Tube videos. You could find them online. But this is a handsome, easy to use, quick loading package you can take anywhere that any aspiring guitarist is sure to enjoy.
Great Learner App.

This app. is very helpful and very detailed, especially for beginners. The instructor is very detailed in the chords. I would recommend this app for everyone that would like to give their first steps on learning to play guitar.
It's amazing just the way it is
Mary Fae 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
This is a beginner-level app for learning how to play the guitar or reviewing the basics and it's got the bang for the buck that I wanted. The videos are in high quality with a minimalistic background and a guide who speaks clearly (her fingernails, tattoo, and hair are more colorful than the background though... lol). I'm pleasantly surprised at how professional the people behind this app are. The the course module lets you bite just what you can swallow. I wish I could find an app at this price and method of instruction so I can continue learning how to play my digital piano.
The Best Virtual Guitar Lessons!
lmark81 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
This app is very informative and easy to follow along. With each lesson, there are detailed step by step instrucions that makes it so easy to learn! I saved so much money by using this app instead of sending my son to private lessons!
Good way to start
Felix Feck 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
You must start somewhere as a first time guitarist and this is as close to a real life beginner's lesson as one can get. Videos are excellent quality and organized well. A whole chapter is devoted to "getting to know your guitar," which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The course progress feature gives you a percentage of completed lessons, a nice way to stay motivated. There's an option to add videos to a favorites list and come back to them later, which is neat except that there are only six chapters worth of videos. Still, as more are added this could be a good way to pick up where you left off. Worth the download.

My youngest is a Stratocaster fiend, so we’ve been around the block with guitar apps. but the average price is usually around $50. There are better ones, to be sure, like ‘Rock Prodigy’ but this baby isonly $2.99 and downloads in five seconds. Well put together by Mahalo, with a fine, soft-voiced teacher in Jen Trani, you can easily download the videos for off-line perusal. Each separate lesson is accompanied by both text and imaging. This one hour lesson is a fantastic primer in the basics dealing with: The parts of the instrument; how to tune, strum and pick; learnin to read chord diagrams and guitar tabs; fretting tips; how to play out your first chords and connect them together to create a tune. Guitar lessons from a teacher will run youat least $30 per hour. The advantage here is that you can learn at your own piece. A fantasticproduct!
Great for beginners
Brandon Johnson 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
Not a skilled guitar player. Actually, I’m not one at all. However this app was nice. Now if you are a skilled guitar player or know a lot beyond the basic, this is not for you. Someone like me, who needs the basics, this is awesome. The app fully uses the iPad screen presenting high resolution video in order to teach the guitar. However, this app should push forward. There should be something for more advance users. Yet, for the price of 2.99 when guitar lessons could cost hundreds, this app was good. out a 5 stars. Pros: High quality, high res, easy to understand for beginnersCons: Needs more levels for advance users
Nicely Done!
A.J J. 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
Awesome way they've put this together...simple to use, navigate through, and the details in the lesson are well put! I've actually learned the basics quickly from using this app! Also really like the fact you can download the lessons locally to your iPad right from the app. Definitely recommend for the $$
Great for Beginners
lczachow 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
Individuals who want to learn how to play the guitar on their own will find great benefit with this app. The application is easy to use and offers step by step instructions on playing indviduals chords and strumming on the guitar. The lessons start out very basic, and gradually get more advanced, until it teaches you how to put together entire songs. The instructor is knowledgeable, easy to follow and offers helpful tips for beginners.Anyone who is interested in learning to play the guitar will find great benefit in this easy to use application. Also, at only $0.99, it is one of the more practical applications you can buy for a dollar. While many dollar apps are simply screen savers, this application is truly a comprehensive guide to learning to play the guitar. For more advanced guitar players, this app will probably be of little to no use, but anyone beginning to learn this instrument can learn a great deal from it.
A Great Introduction to Guitar
SpaceHed66Deux 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
Learn Guitar is an excellent iPad app providing introductory guitar instruction. The teacher is personable and easy to follow and the app provides a nice interface for accessing the lessons. It also provides additional information in text format that correspond to each individual lesson. The only thing this app needs is in-app purchases for additional lessons that may be available.
An excellent beginner's tool.
TheReviewShark 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
I have to say this right off the bat: Jen Trani, the guitar teacher for these videos, has sweet hair. It’s hard to believe that a hairstyle would make someone more credible, but for guitar lessons, it totally, totally works. Anyway, the layout itself is professional, crisp and easy to navigate, with useful features like an ever-ready episode selection bar, written notes for avid readers/compulsive note-takers, and the ability to download the videos to view offline, such as on a plane flight. Mix that in with a clear-voiced and experienced teacher, and you’ve already got the basis for a fine application. What’s great about this app is the money-saving potential. Instead of shelling out extra bucks for beginning guitar lessons, you can achieve the same in an hour by watching these videos for 5 dollars, giving you the ability to learn at your own pace without feeling rushed. But wait! Don’t put away that wallet just yet, because you still might want to take lessons after all these videos are finished. Learn Guitar is for beginners only, and sticks to this notion adamantly. Everything that Mahalo covers in these videos are aimed at people who have never picked up a guitar or even knew that they previously existed, and if you have even an intermediate grasp of guitar, you’re going to feel frustrated. After all, it's called "Learn Guitar", not "Shred Like Van Halen". It's built for novices. The bottom line: if you want to learn guitar and have never seen a pick before, this is one of the best avenues that you could take, with easy menu navigations, a good teacher and some handy doodads thrown in for good measure. If you know how to strum a chord and how to play an arpeggio, don’t bother. You probably know 90% of the content anyway.
