Needs Browse Feature

This is an ok app but it would be better if it had a browse feature (year, genre, title, actor, etc.)
Looooong Search

The biggest problem so far is that the search time is very very long.
Good start to this staple guide
I think this is an excellent start to a guide I have always kept around for it's depth of info. The developers are responsive to requests and the integration and interface make this a great stepping off point.
I look forward to the further development of this app!
Best movie guide

Best movie app for offline research. Other movie guides in the app store require an Internet connection to give you plot summaries.
Unlike the Palm OS version of this guide, you cannot filter by year or ratings, but you can search people, titles. Just like the paperback, only with color artwork. Search results are slow. Not all current titles are available, just Leonard's Picks.
Great all around interactive database

This is THE movie database to beat all!! If you like the movies, this is the app for you. Not to mention the price is incredible! Leonard Maltin has never let the fans down.
Great, but text too small

Love this, but the text is too small. Needs landscape mode or larger font option.
Search needs a MAJOR speedup

Content is terrific (I had this on my Windows Mobile device). However, as mentioned by a couple of others, search time is really slow.
The best
I've been waiting for this since I switched from my Treo 680 to a iphone 3GS. It replaces and is better than the unwieldy printed guide. Its searches (by title, actor or director) are very fast on my 3GS. Plus it allows me to save my favorite movies, favorite Christmas movies, etc. Since I watch movies on TV and not in theaters, this has everything that I need.
Great resource, nothing current

This app is a great resource for rentals. But I thought I'd be able to use it to pick a good film to see in the theater. Not so. There are very few reviews of films currently in theaters.
Very poor search
Not worth being called a Database!
It has just a single key word search. Even the Palm issue was MUCH better. Cast lists have only names, not roles.
More improvements needed
It's great to have Maltin on th Iphone and, with a few improvements, it can become an essential app.
1. Improve the search speed. It takes an unusually long time once a search term is entered to get a result. Please fix!
2. Please create a keyword search to help find movies.
3. Give us a choice on opening screens. I'd rather see a featured movie of the day or classic movie than a list of current movies.
The app shows great promise, please continue to refine it and give us more choices!
Good, But Needs Improved Search Functionality

It's nice to search by title, cast, and director. But two critical search functions are missing: Release Year and Star Rating. How great it would be to see all films released in a certain year (or series of years; add a date range?), plus sort films by star rating (with the option to search greater or less than a number of stars). Thanks, mobileAge, for bringing the insightful Leonard Maltin to iPhone. As a movie buff and longtime reader of Leonard's Guide, I'm happy the wait is over.
Solid and well designed

Finally a quality, complete(!) movie review reference for my iPhone. The CNET review says iTunes movie rental support is coming in the next release - looking forward to that. And love that it lets me keep a list of those movies I want to see. Will recommend to others.
