This app is better than the other Lewis and Short app available here, the Latin Dictionary by davidfinucane.com. Lexidium is the exact same dictionary (Lewis and Short) as the davidfinucane.com Latin Dictionary, but its interface is better for two reasons. First, when searching a word, both apps create a list as you type. When using the Latin Dictionary, however, the list is just a list of entries from Lewis and Short that might match what you are typing so that you have to touch a word to see the definition (which is the full L and S entry). Lexidium, on the other hand, gives you a brief (but clear) definition on a line below each listed word, which is good for quick reference. Only if you want to see the full L and S entry do you have to touch a word from the list. Second (and this was the factor that made me kick the davidfinucane.com Latin Dictionary off my iphone and replace it with Lexidium), Lexidium is a little faster than davidfinucane.com's Latin Dictionary. Plus, at least at the time of this review, the Lexidium is two dollars cheaper than Latin Dicitionary. I highly recomend this Lexidium for any Latinist and at this price it is an incredible deal.

It needs a reverse search feature where you can type in the english wird and it will tell you what it is in latin. Other than that great app

*Now with the update, this is really quite incredible. You can modify the short definitions (which, being computer generated, were sometimes off), and you can rapidly connect to Perseus to parse. Mr. Schmidt, could you PLEASE do an app for the "Allen and Greenough" Latin grammar located on Perseus as well? I (and doubtless many others) would gladly pay up to 10.00 to have that fine grammar on my iPhone!*

I am quite pleased with the current interface. Two simple yet important suggestions: 1) Include a guide to the dictionary with basic info like grammar for noun declensions, verb conjugations, etc. (similar to guides found at the beginning of most Latin dictionaries, e.g. New College by Traupman for instance); 2) This second suggestion would take considerable work, but if all Latin words were hyperlinked to their proper meanings/citations (similar to Apple's dictionary program) this product would be that much more invaluable. Nevertheless, thank you for a wonderful product!
