Homescreens – Dezember 2010 (iPhone + iPad)
Calendar16 Sat, 11 Dec 2010 10:35:56 UTC +00:00
Außerdem verstecken sich innerhalb der Ordner folgende Apps*: Amazon.de (kostenlos; App Store-Link), Convertbot (1.59 €; App Store-Link), AnalyticsPro (5.49 €; App Store-Link), Delivery Status touch (3.99 €; universal; App Store-Link), Dropbox (kostenlos; universal; App Store-Link), iCabMobile (1.59 €; universal; App Store-Link), Skype (kostenlos; App Store-Link), WeatherPro (2.99 €; App Store-Link), Pastebot (2.99 €; App Store-Link), LogMeIn (23.99 €; universal; App Store-Link), OffMaps (1.59 €; universal; App Store-Link), Kik (kostenlos; App Store-Link), PayPal (kostenlos; App Store-Link), Linkie (0.79 Read More

No images?

Still poking it. Seems to function, but not way to embed images? Disappointing, unless I'm missing something.
A Bit Disappointed

After eagerly waiting for three weeks, the appearance of Macjournal is a bit of letdown with syncing. Why no syncing with MobileMe or Dropbox? Instead, we need to have the desktop version running.
Sync is unreliable
mandopoet 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I loved this application as a standalone Mac app, but I need to find something else. Tonight I lost 7 hours of draft work on 2 poems because of a sync error - and the app didn't even warn that it thought there we conflicts. It just deleted an entire journal created on the iPad and moved the finals to a new place in the hierarchy. The current finals, of course, are entirely provisional - and now I can't see what the alternatives were. I'm keeping the Mac app but I'll never use it again except for reference, and I'm deleting the iPad app. I can't afford to waste my time; I can't afford to lose work.
Could be Great

I have MacJournal on my Macbook and iphone and love them. I was eager for the iPad version and find myself very frustrated by the sync not working. Sync works great between the iphone and Mac, the iPad just locks up after I select my mac to sync with. iPad needs to be restarted. I am disappointed that Mariner would release with sync issues. Two of the three comments posted at this time identify sync issues.
Sync is a 4-letter word ....
TreoRenegade 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
.... which, when in the hands of this developer, sparks a knee-jerk sputtering of other 4-letter words. Read: love the desktop, but this iteration falls somewhere in the vicinity of pure unadulterated donkey dust. Why in the #%!&$? they don't just switch the syncing to DropBox is beyond me, cuz the current mechanism flows only in the land of Fantasy Island.
Fixes and syncs are working
astarfire 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I have been using the desktop version of MacJournal for over a year and love it. I waited to buy the app, however, because of all the bad reviews. The developer gave me a link to the newest beta (5.2.6b), which I downloaded. I then bought the app and gave it a go. Everything worked seamlessly. When I first synced, I was given the option to replace the contents on the iPad, replace the contents on the computer, or sync the contents between the iPad and the computer. I chose to replace the iPad's contents. Then I made a few test entries and synced without any problems. I did this several times, with new entries, then deleting entries. Didn't have a problem, at all. I would mark this with 5-stars, if the app could include pictures, which I'm sure is on the developer's list for the future, and if I could export entries to PDF or to printer, which is supported with the new OS. All in all, this works for my portable journaling needs.
great Sync!!!

Macjournal

Was a while coming and is a little bumpy on synching but I am sure it will get better. Just what i needed. Wish it had recording capability but maybe later. A good start.
Rough edges, but promising...
rsgeek 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
I love the Mac version of MacJournal, but the iPad version still has some rough edges: * There's no way to delete empty Journals (like the "Dates" smart journals that are automatically populated for you) on the iPad * Synching is a bit flakey -- not copying info some times, not reflecting deletions other times So a good start, but I will be happy to see this mature.
Good start

I was amazed at how fast the initial sync from MacJournal on my iMac to my iPad was, but then I realized none of the embedded images made it to the iPad. Bummer! I have TONS of images in my journals... Maybe a future version will handle those. At least, I hope so. But for now it is good to be able to use at least some of the content I've stored in MacJournal/MacOS over the years on my iPad. The granularity of sync options is quite good in that it is possible to specify which journals to sync or not. Since MacJournal has been one of my favorite MacOS apps ever since before Mariner acquired it, I am very happy to see it has finally made it to iOS, and look forward to future updates with more data formats supported. Good work, Mariner!
Great journal app

Works great on the iPad, iPhone, & Mac. Syncing is simple, easy, & fast. Great app Mariner software.
Beware if you host remotely
darrenjenell 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Just an FYI, if you host your wordpress blog remotely, this will not work, or at the very least you'll have to do multiple backflips to make it work. Wish they would have made that a little more clear before I dropped $6 on the thing!
I like it!
Alice Bow 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app works well for me and syncs beautifully with my Mac at home! I love it!
Great work!
Ba7 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I have been eagerly awaiting this app--so far it completely meets my needs. Sync was seamless with my Mac and took just a few seconds. It is easy to use and works as I expected it to. Great work!
No wordpress.com integration?

I bought it just as a wordpress blogging app Wordpress.com doesn't work with it Not ready for the app store yet, me thinks
A terrific app
Billclock 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
And it does work well and does synch well, but carefully follow the directions. A small caveat, not for this app as such: But If you also have a program called CleanMyMac, be very careful. That program can destroy data with abandon, including MacJournal data. But MacJournal is a worthy design. Very useful indeed.
Pretty good
Faramir73 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Pretty good. I use the desktop version and got the sync to work after adjusting the firewall settings. I was able to write and blog. Overall, good 1.0 version.
Sync issues bad sign
Browntee 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
I purchased this app hoping to get a good app to document my trip to japan. This app looked like a great addition to the previous version that I have on my macbook. Once downloaded I tried to get it to work by syncing with my desktop version but no luck . Very disappointed in the production of this app, and hope that there i a fix to soon come out for the sync. Should be easier to work together.
Serious glitch - doesn't save entries typed in the default window
bk725 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is exactly what I have been waiting for, and it does just what I wanted it to do. It syncs with the desktop version perfectly. BUT, and this is a big problem, when you open the app, unless you have an unlocked journal in your list of journals, it opens to a default page where you can enter a title for a new journal entry and then begin writing. This morning I spent an hour writing an entry and only discovered after closing the app that it DOES NOT SAVE entries made in this window. Only if you first hit the button for a new entry will that entry be saved. WHY would they give you a window in which you can write a new entry that will be impossible to save?
Very Disappointed
Starryeyedseven 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is a bare bones, didn't try very hard, lazy, stupid version of MacJournal. Why did I buy this? I am angry at myself for believing. No images? Who wants to blog without images? Who wants a journal without images? I had completely stopped using MacJournal on my Mac after it crashed and it took the developers over 14 days to respond to my desperate and then despondent cries for help. I vowed never to be at their mercy again. My journal is important to me, and I've gone on to happy journal creativity on my iPad with Pages. I recommend Pages, and MacJournal can send me a refund please, this app is not worth $.99.
No wordpress.com integration?

Crude Version of Desktop
SJPHD 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
I've been using the desktop version for years. I eagerly awaited the iPad version, hoping it would do much more than the wimpy iPod version. Alas, I am quite disappointed. My major regret has to do with the absence of image syncing. The great advantage of Macjournal over competitors has been the flexibility and richness of what users can do. I've always embedded images in my entries to capture the reality of what I've been experiencing. With the iPad emerging as a spectacular platform for photo storage and very sophisticated editing, it is a shame that this app doesn't blend very well into the capabilities of the iPad. I've had no trouble syncing text, but frankly that is just about what multiple other apps allow (some of which like Pages contain formatting). I will be willing to change my rating and update this review if or when later versions of the app develop more sophisticated abilities,
