A bunch of our favorite apps are suddenly going for a dime, with no real rhyme or reason for the discount. @dirkyd3rlc and @Pat_Huey on Twitter alerted us to SwiftKey and Minecraft on sale for 10 cents, and we've found others. I love the PC version of Minecraft, it's deadly. Looking at this game, I was excited since it's announcement. I've been playing it for about 30 minutes now, and it's good, but not great. If we could have online via wifi, survival mode and make the worlds bigger, it would be perfect. The worlds atm are very small, I have started 2 worlds and within a few minutes, managed to reach the edge of both of them. Also, no TNT :-(

I only got my xperia play for this game and im so glad its out now. It runs well, no fps problems, no chunk deleting problems as of yet. limited ATM in what you can make, but if it follows the footsteps of the pc version will have a ton of awsums soon enough! 'servers' aka multiplayer im guessing is LAN but im sure Mojang will add online ablity if not someone will mod it on. Buy this game! dont get the demo just buy the game, its worth alot more then they ask for it. Happy Building :D

Touch controls are barely functional. No option to bind hard keys (eg volume rocker and camera button), and with the touch controls for breaking blocks, every time I try to turn I end up carving out all the blocks my thumb crosses. The game runs smoothly on my Droid x and pretty much looks like Minecraft, but the controls are a game breaker. If they release a significant update that changes controls I'll revisit this but until then I shan't be playing it much, if at all. A shame, it could have been great.

Think about it. A PC with a 2,66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo vs xperia play 1GHz. Minecraft would use about 60% of CPU power to generate world on PC. There is no way a phone can keep up with the amount of power Minecraft needs for survival. Another example is a comp with 4GB of RAM vs xperia play with 512 MB of RAM. Minecraft needs 480 MB of RAM on my PC xperia play has enough but android and other apps need RAM too! MC PE is still coded in Java so it is gonna need alot of RAM. Survival will not work...

I dont care what all of those naysayers say about this game. Mojang is having to totally start a new and it is hard. The price is very reasonable because it is the alpha that you are getting to test for them so they can make it better. Just deal with the glitches as best as possible because soon it will be better and be just like the computer edition. I think this is an amazing feat because when the computer one came out, i thought it was amazing. This just stepped that up another level

I love this game, I downloaded it over a year ago and have been building in creative mode, I had a mansion, a full stadium and a pirate ship that took about 20hours to build. I've just downloaded the update and its reset all of my levels. Everythings gone. I'm devastated and not happy at all. The update seems fine and the game is brilliant but is there any way to get my old worlds back? To anyone new to minecraft. Download now.

Wow Majang! Brilliant! You can. now bring minecraft WHEREVER you go! I do admit however, there is a bug that prevents you from picking up wood, but that should be fixed in the next patch I assume. Messege to the people who think the survival is stupid: the reason those blocks are infinite is because you can't legitly obtain them yet! I do love the creative though. 2 requests: I'd really like water/lava bucket (I know that takes time) and stone bricks, I love this block texture a lot! So thank you Mojang!

I have bought the game and i travel alot and sometimes i have no 4g or wifi meaning no internet! So when i try to play it says licens fail and tells me to buy the game this also happens on slow internet wifi and network. Please take this away it would make it so much better the ipone verson does not have this to the best of my knoledge and i know from word of moutg that it is easyer to pirate on android but seriously i bought the game i should be able to use it when i want. Just make it like this the 1time

This mobile game for minecraft is awesome. But definetly needs more. All the things that are available on the web version of minecraft should be added. Multiplayer mode should be worldwide. Crafting would be great. Tnt should be added definetly to survival (though i have it since i modded it). Lots of bugs need to be fixed. Especially the one where the forward button wigs out, and doesnt even work when u touch it most of the time. Villages and clouds should be added.Plz fix soon. IM ON MY MOTOROLA PHOTON.

Ok minecraft I no u workin on the updates and slowly adding stuff but your competition is also. The game Petravis is jus like minecraft but they have almost double your blocks, mine carts, mine tracks, and they are also cheaper. How does a game as good as this be getting out-done by a cheap version? Please if u want to keep your customers, give them what they want or they will move on to someone who will. Minecraft os a great game but lacks the essentials for the title. We want carts, tracks, and crafting.

Well, Mojang, you should be more considerate about minecraft. You guys at Mojang need to make it more like the real minecraft itself. In regular minecraft for pc, you can spawn items such as animals. There should be a bow and arrow, and like everybody else wants, more equip space. I'd give it *****, but it does need some improvements. I can't figure out how to get minecraft for PC, so... it does need to be more like it was on PC. And at the same time, you should be able to craft. Thats what I want most.

This game is pretty rocking for being in it's beginning stages. Here is my issue though: On the Asus TF-201, I have attacked a PS3 controller via Bluetooth and the controls don't seem to function for anything. Hitting L1 swings the axe and hitting triangle opens the blocks menu. Other than that, nothing. Seems like with it being optimized for the Xperia Play there would be some similarities to how they are mapped. Either way, keep it up and bring us up to the ability to do desktop sync.

But, am making a zoo and I need all animals, and monsters. And also on my tool bar I only have 3 blocks or tools but in the picture there's 8. And needs crafting, and all the stuff that you need to craft, inventory, armor, minecarts, and tracks. and needs more tools and blocks. All animals and monsters should drop stuff. Add fish, sharks, and squid. Add flatland. And add lava and water buckets. Add food like bread like in the pc version. But way better than competitors.

Works good and looks good, but no where near like the real minecraft yet. Hopefully they are looking to upgrade it, otherwise it will be a waste of money. Still needs crafting, otherwise it should just be called 'mine' and not 'minecraft'. At the moment, all you can really do is use the blocks that you get unlimited of anyway, which also defeats the purpose of mining. If it does get updated to the proper version, it will be awesome.

Great Alpha! Love the quality work put in the game so far. This will be far superior to the clones when finished. Silky smooth movement and great control. The only issue I have encountered is that the jump button hasn't worked well for me. Remember this is alpha folks and there's still beta before the final product. If you're a PC Minecraft fan, please support the development of this app and join in watching the progress of what will be an amazing app. They know what they're doing!

I'm a little disappointed , with mojang(the creators of Minecraft), that after almost a month and a half there is no update. Although I am a licensened game tester/critic, I actually enjoy playing Minecraft on both my iOS and Android devices. It seems Mojang has failed to produce what the game is about, mining and crafting. In all reality, Mojang should be concerned on the iOS and Android devices and not the computer version because it has good gaming and smart phones are the next generation. Just like cars over threw bikes or walking, phones will computers. So, what will happen next?

I love this game. Hands down, the best game you can buy on a mobile phone. Most of you don't realize that Notch has almost nothing to do with this (as he is already working on a new game, and has given the reigns to an employee of his), so stop bothering him, and bother the people who are actually in charge. I want crafting for PE, and I also want the sky and various mobs to be present, but more than anything I need an objective. Mojang made 80 million in 14 months. Get on it.

...we all Android Users are just disappointed about you. You promised the update so many times, we now don't care of you. As I say in another comment below (on 14 April), you work faster with the PC version, that is almost perfect. What is true, some (dumb) people here still ask "When is the next update?" or "Needs crafting." so OBVIOUSLY THIS UPDATE WILL HAVE CRAFTING! I bet now the iOS users that comment on their App Store say bad things about us, because our update doesn't come faster.

I enjoy this app very much, but everyone is correct, there need to be items added to this awesome, addicting game. There are things missing in the game such as water, lava, buckets, crafting tables, creepers, chests, etc. So if you are looking at purchasing this app, I recommend trying out the free version first, you know even though your most likely going to buy it. I am waiting for these updates, but this is still a great game. Keep it up!

They've done it again. I've been playing minecraft since 1.7.3 beta and every time they come up with a new thing it makes playing it that much fun. To people who say it needs more need to know more about minecraft. Minecraft continuously gets new stuff so don't say it needs more when the creators know. They are always working on it and so far have done an outstanding job and are still doing that job so don't say ur not satisfied or give it a four or three because it needs more, they know that. keep it up.

Just bought the game, love it but theres alot of glitches like one I first started up the game it had a banner across the screen and it said server has restarted and I waited for it to go away but it dident so i hit the home botton then it froze and on my phone i cant just take out the battery and when I used volume down and power it still didnt work so I had to wait for my battery to die, and I eventually played it again it had the banner but didnt freeze well anyway. CRAFTING, MOBS, harder survival! Thx

This kid on youtube calls apple about the update and they said it will be delayed for 15-20 days due to technical problems. WTF apple? How does apple have anything to do with the google play app store? Come on mojang... Thats why you guys updated it 15-20 days before apple for update 0.2.0. You guys suck. I still love minecraft pe and am still waiting eagerly for update 0.3.0, but why cant you update it before apple approves it...

.. still missing a lot of functionality from the PC-version. More enemies, and craftable material. Stone axe is currently the highest axe.. an oven to melt things is needed. We are not even close to getting gold, diamond picks, tnt and lava for example. Also.. the world is way too small.. I used one day and I had built out the entire world available to me. I know that my Transformer Prime can handle it easily.. if they are afraid that it will be too powerful for the less specced phones etc. then at least make it as an option. Larger draw distance is also wanted.

Amazing just amazing! The update out today is increadable and this is the best game on the market for sure. no one else can keep up. I wish i could rate higher! And for all the ppl that are looking for more I would highly recommend the online version which will always have more than the mobile version. If ur reading this prepare to read like alot see the good thing is in creative u get 2 fly and in survival u get 2 bust some zombie skulls however could use more variety in monsters and more weapons such as bows and spears maybe some mods like flaming or poisoned and while im at that add some armor cause ten heart health really drains fast and needs sheild and did not play the pc version but id like 2 and needs more hot keys cause i skim the inventory sometimes missing desired oblect and plz read next revie

So to be able to get Survival mode with crafting (on the Xperia Play) you have to turn on touchscreen mode, create a new world with Survival mode, and then you get the 4 box UI with the ability to craft. Interestingly enough, if you then go back and turn OFF touchscreen mode, you will revert to the larger UI mode, but still have access to the crafting - however it seems you can only use the touchscreen to do anything in this mode. Haven't played enough yet to see if there are any other issues doing it this way, but it somewhat works at least and gives an unintended (?) benefit (larger UI) by doing so...

Crafting just came out so its expected that it does not have a lot of craft-able items. now with the addition of crafting, I think the only major update pe needs is more animals that drop food, and a hunger bar. also seeing that armor needs a whole other menu or section in the inventory, it might be a major update. Other than that, we just need more items including mine-able ores and thats just about it. With these additions, Minecraft Pocket Edition will be the closest to pc version that I can imagine without it lagging. Oh and also, multiplayer, since a cell phone does not have enough processing power to run an entire server on it, there would have to be an entirely different server system. that might take a while to develope so dont expect to be seeing that any time soon :/

Now that it has both survival mode and crafting this is finally almost worth playing. The controls on a touch screen are very awkward, I don't know if there is a better way of doing the controls but it is frustrating as is. Runs really smoothly on the Transformer Prime, and it makes good use of the Xperia Plays controls. Still though, disappointing that you can't play on PC servers and that you can't take your PC map on the go with you. Just make this the PC version and I'll be much more happy. Also, it loves to randomly play the sound effect for jumping in the water, which gets annoying too.

Please add: Saplings Chests Boats Bucket or water placement Signs Carts More stuff to craft No infinite bricks and glass More types of evil mobs Something to do with the other minerals I don't mind the fog or the limited world size so much, I understand these are only telephones after all. Also don't mind not having 3x3 craft grid, I think you guys came up with a decent solution to crafting. Needs chests badly. Great update! Can't wait for the next one!

I built a house on the side of a mountain and started a huge mine in it but after Im done collecting coal I go back to my main house(I have two doors on it that are always closed and the place is lit up like a frickin Christmas tree)I find a bunch of zombies waiting for me...my solution for the crafting bench(since the experia play doesn't have the craft button)is to switch to touch screen controls and get wood then craft a bench then switch back to old controls! Plz fix both!

I love how the game is progressing. for tablet players with a mouse it would be a whole lot better if the crosshairs would follow the mouse cursor like the PC version if you have the mouse option turned on, also it would be nice for an option to use a docking station keyboard if the player has one. other wise movement with a touch screen is awkward, however I do like the auto jump. well worth buying as I fully expect Mojang will continue to develop this into a great game as they did with the PC version.

Great game don't get me wrong but the controls are weird and the up arrow doesn't always works like im running from zombies in survival the n the up just quits working and i have to keep pressing the arrow because it only walks for a second and i end up dieing but other than that its good. And they added gold and redstone etc. In there for nothing its just sitting there well im looking forward to updates to make this better and closer to the pc version.

Minecraft on your phone! It's got the basic features and is worth playing, but I was a little disappointed when I played survival mode and found I couldn't make a bed. Yup, I had to sit through the night. And the worst part is, if you didn't have shelter, you were dead because you cant see anything at night. And there's nothing but wood, stone, and coal. And just the basics; sword, pickaxe, ect. No worry though, i'm sure it's coming soon. Still worth the buy.

for stronger devices, you can make larger worlds maybe? we need caves lava new hostile mobs...we need to be able to milk cow, gather eggs, maybe burn animals for meat. also, we need some sort of storage devices, ALOT more sugarcane, mining carts, no more free items, online servers, tnt. please. I also have to add that in creative, when you hold a red/black brick halfblock,it appears as a wooden half block. Also, the wooden halfblock breaks easily with the pick and take longer with axes. Also, half blocks as roofs do not block out sunlight as the whole room stays bright.

I enjoy the game and if you enjoy creating stuff you should enjoy it also. My expectations differ from players of the PC version which I've never played. I was a little lost as to the objective of the game in the beginning as there is no tutorial like most apps. Now I'm into it and I add something to my world daily. I see a option to remove onscreen controls I think option is for xperia play as i cant uncheck box. My phone is awesome and I can display game to my HD TV and play wirelessly with the six axis PS3 controller and I'd like to get rid of the onscreen controls. That ability to project and play game onto a TV adds more value and appeal to me. I've tinkered around and I'm sure I can do more to remove them but why when option just needs to be made available. If its a lack of hardware needed can you add another GUI(3).png with still present but invisible controls. Please consider this as this is the future gadgets like Xbox, PS3 even the PC are going to become irrelevant as the smart phone is going to assume all these rolls. Either catch up or get left behind. The updates have been awesome keep up the good work. I Had a Droid now I have GNEX 4.0.2

Thks this is my best game but,Mojang pls continue to work on it like being able to craft bed so u can respawn there instead of the place u first came in and have some iron or something like that and pls also add diamonds and gold so we can pick it up to make better tools and when i dig all the way down until i saw bedrock,i also saw some redstone but when i mined it,it wasn't in my inventory!!!pls add all these stuff!!!but thks to your effort to add crafting,i will give 4 star. :) :(

Although this game is ok there is still currently some major issues which I think should have come with the most recent update. 1. Is smelting. There are no furnaces so leave ore alone until we can do somthing with it. 2. The biggest flaw with this app is there are no chests. I'm currently stuffed with a full inventory and can't put stuff down. 3. No beds, every 10 mins u run back inside your house. Building anything medium+ sided is very difficult in survival. Let's not take 3 weeks to update -___-

Notice its not 3.0 its 0.3.0. When it hits 1.0.0 it will probably have all the things pc has CURRENTLY! Not future minecraft.. This is because it's been almost a year and it's a 3rd done. This means it will be probably be 2013 in November when it's 1.2.5 pc like. Because phones will only get faster, the programmers will program and the computer version will advance but pocket edition will probably just have not as good graphics! –Nick

I want grid crafting make all resorces colectibile all mobs defenitly make wolves and when the skelitins die we can get the bones to tame wolves(i love wolves!) and we will experinent,kill mobs gather recorces and it will be just like the online minecraft (im dragonlol90 and i have linix and i try doing it in browser it dosent work and i cant seem to download it:(:::: )i love minecraft sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much! I absolutely love this app. It is so much fun. The only problem is that you can't make lava, snow, or water. I also wish that it would give you more block options and that you could build higher, also that it would actually have a sky not just grey. But over all this is a really fun, long lasting, great app. The best part is that I haven't had any glitches so far. Get this app if I were you and you are a creative person who likes to make anything you could ever Imagine. However it majorly needs pistons and such.

It's fun to play in small blasts. Would be even better if it had creepers, spiders, skeletons, etc. Also needs furnaces and bows. The crafting interface is quick and simple to use. Some of the icons are messed up though (for example once you use shears to get leaves the the things dropped are crafting tables :D ). Other than that it's a brilliant port of minecraft for the phone, worth buying. It's getting ever closer to the PC version, slowly but surely. Nice work on Mojang's part

This game is great.Its great as it is and there is way too much stuff on the list of minecraft in computers that ill just wait instead of listing wat i want in next.... but i wouldnt mind everlasting land for a world..caves and lava.. beds. two more mobs both aggressive and passive. Just sayin. And blocks like buckets. And we can mate animals. And have pets. Use furnest and have a chest. Just sayin. Mojang always surprises us each update. Hehe. Oh and i saw lava one day in creative mode, why not survival

I love the game but its missing a lot from mine craft I'm requesting a few things like joining a random server from any where and add modes like moon mode skyrim mode most of these things I learned from videos but u still nedd to add more to crafting like mine carts mine cart tracks and armor and skeloton and bows and arrows and tnt if u added everything that was in mine craft this whould be the gretest app in history of all apps and I garrante if u add these things this will be voted best app

I Love Crafting !! It's Just There Are Some Ungrateful People:( yous just hot crafting and now your asking for everything !! ? They worked really hard on crafting and it's hard making the furnace !! Give them a break ! It's not as easy to make it. Example some kid said if you dont make it the exact same as pc I'll delete it . Guess what ? No One Cares ! The grateful people are happy with what they have right now :) so juss give them a break ! ;)
