Christmas Sale: Every EA Published Game $.99 or Free
Calendar16 Tue, 20 Dec 2011 19:51:29 UTC +00:00
We've come to expect EA to never mess around with its sales, and we're pleased to report that it certainly isn't messing around with its latest. From now, and presumably until shortly after New Years Day, all of the publisher's gargantuan premium catalogue is an agreeable $.99. That means games like Madden 12, Trenches II, and many others have been reduced up to 90-percent off the original asking price. Whoa, right? This same sale happened last year around this time, too. You probably know the story, but EA managed to choke the App Store's charts with its titles and pushed everyone out of its way. It was a powerful move that set the yuletide savings tone moving forward. We've got a list, but just as a note, we haven't listed every single EA game, just the ones in this "holiday sale." If you're looking for something else, hit up EA's publisher Read More

posted by Joe Rossignol on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 2:32 pm.   Today only, Electronic Arts is offering two of their popular iOS titles for absolutely free. Flight Control, regularly 99 cents, is free today for the first time since its March 2009 release on the App Store. Flight Control, in the words of EA, is a game where you must touch and drag the aircraft to their landing zones and avoid collisions. There are six airfields including the Original, Beach, Windy, Australian Outback, Aircraft Carrier and the new Storm Airfield each with unique characteristics and challenges. Over 4,000,000 copies of Flight Control have been sold since its release over two-and-a-half years ago, making it one of the more successful titles available on the App Store. Similarly, Mirror’s Edge™ is also a regularly 99 cents game that has been discounted to free as part of EA’s daily deal for December Read More
Mirror's Edge [Free /HD] for iPhone and iPad are dangled at a discount quite a bit, but today's deal is way too juicy for anyone without either to pass up. For a limited time, both games are now free. All you have to do is hit download on either or both, and then you'll be jumping around in the mobile iteration of one of EA DICE's most clever and colorful titles ever, for zero dollars. This deal, by the way, is brought to us by EA's new Daily Deals program, which we've mentioned in a past post earlier this week and is offering more than just the aforementioned. Dead Space for iPad [$4.99], for example, is also being offered up on the cheap today. It's now $4.99 instead of its usual $9.99. You can read more the gory, ultra-atmospheric title at this convenient link right here. Shelly Data Doodles is pleased to announce Read More

Varias son las compañías que han decidido rebajar sus juegos en la App Store para celebrar el lanzamiento del iPad 2 en EEUU, así que os dejamos un listado con varios de ellos. Chillingo Bulkypix Gameloft EA Mobile Oros Read More
iOS developers have realized that there will probably be a whole lot of iPad 2 apps sold this weekend (since there will be so many new iPad 2s wandering around), so they've dropped prices on quite a few iPhone apps. AppAdvice has a good list up -- EA's apps are in there, including Mirror's Edge and the recently released Dead Space, and Firemint's Flight Control HD is down to a buck this weekend. Minigore HD is also on sale for a dollar, definitely worth a purchase if you haven't grabbed it yet. Bulkypix is also putting most of its iPad games on sale, though that sale doesn't start until tomorrow morning. I doubt this is the last we'll see of these sales -- there's going to be a pretty big rush for the top apps lists in iTunes this weekend, as developers try to take advantage of the incoming flood of Read More

Calendar16 Fri, 17 Dec 2010 16:33:45 UTC +00:00
By – Wow! First off, we didn't even realize Electronic Arts (EA) had released this many games on the App Store. For the holidays, EA, has decided to drop the prices on 68 of their iOS Apps to 99 cents. For some of the games its regular price, but others are dropping from as much as $12.99, so now is the time to buy if you've ever wanted some of these games. Some of our favorites include the collection of board games as well as Mirror's Edge for iPad.  Use this link to check out what EA has right now: Electronic Arts on App Store   Related Posts Read More
The Great Electronic Arts 99¢ Sale of 2010
Calendar16 Thu, 16 Dec 2010 12:23:29 UTC +00:00
It seems like whenever a holiday rolls around in the US, all of the major developers put their catalog of iOS games on sale in an effort to ride a wave of publicity into the top app charts. Electronic Arts is no stranger to this practice, and in observance of a very special holiday this Winter they have dropped a huge number of their games down to 99¢. Yes, that's right, EA is having a sale to celebrate forum moderator ImNoSuperMan's birthday. Just kidding. It's a Christmas sale. Or rather, a "Holiday" sale. Whatever the politically correct reason for this event is, the bottom line is that you can get a ton of EA games for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad for just a dollar each right now. (Note that some of these titles actually launched at 99¢, or have been that price for a while, but have been added to Read More
Happy Thanksgiving – Here Are a TON of Games on Sale
Calendar16 Thu, 25 Nov 2010 11:04:08 UTC +00:00
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and has been all my life. What's there not to love about an entire day revolving around eating massive amounts of turkey, stuffing, and all the other fixings? Sure, I could do without needing to feign interest in football, but thankfully tryptophan overload usually allows me to sleep through all of that. If you're looking for something to do this year while you do your best to either pretend to be interested in football or anxiously wait for the food to be done, there are a ton of sales on the App Store to consider. The basis of this post comes from SirAwesome's awesome thread in our new price drops, freebies, and deals forum. He put together an extremely exhaustive listing of everything that's on sale, and the thread is good to stop by just to make sure you're not missing anything that might Read More

Mirror's Edge coming to the Mac later this year
Calendar16 Thu, 07 Oct 2010 15:00:00 UTC +00:00
A mobile version of the first-person platform game Mirror's Edge is already available for the iPad and iPhone, but the original version hasn't made it to the Mac... yet. Court documents from a lawsuit filed against Electronic Arts by Edge Games state that "a Mac version of the original 'Mirror's Edge' video game is currently under development and is slated for release later this year." Mirror's Edge has been available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 for almost two years now, and the Windows version came out in January of 2009. Like Portal and a few other high-profile games that have recently released for the Mac, the availability of Mirror's Edge for OS X is definitely a case of "better late than never." Having recently played through the iPhone version of the game, I'll be curious to see how it runs on the Mac... as long as the price is right Read More

Usually, we like to use this space to highlight developers and apps that could use a little more exposure, not call out big-budget titles from developers like Electronic Arts. But this one's worth it -- Mirror's Edge is a pretty terrific, completely original translation of the plaforming game that arrived on consoles last year. It was out on the iPad at launch earlier this year, and now the game has made its way to the iPhone, bringing Retina Display graphics and the same well done gameplay. Out of all of the "major" game publishers, EA has shown Apple quite a bit of love in the past, and this is probably the company's best original (in mechanics, if not actually name or premise) title for the iOS platform. It's a real shame that it took so long for this one to make it around to the handheld, but now that it's here, Read More
All the way back in the middle of December of last year we first got our hands on EA's Mirror's Edge [$4.99] for the iPhone, but it came without any solid release date. Mirror's Edge then disappeared until the iPad launch when Mirror's Edge for iPad [$9.99] popped up once again. Back then, we figured the iPhone release was immanent, but once again, it never came. Tonight is finally the night, and after spending quite a bit of time with the game today, it seems remarkably similar to the iPad version, downsized to the iPhone. In fact, it's so similar to our preview from last year that everything I said back then is still relevant. The world of Mirror's Edge is set in the future, where a totalitarian regime is in power and an underground resistance powered by runners move information around on foot to avoid to watchful eye of the Read More
Big name developers just love setting their iTunes Connect release dates to Thursdays. Every week around this time we start seeing new releases slowly pop up in international markets, then filter out to the rest of the world as the Earth spins and it slowly becomes Thursday across the planet. This week is no different, and tonight at 11:00 PM EST all of the following games will be available for download in the US App Store. (Or even sooner if you're east of us.) Mirror's Edge for iPhone, $4.99 - We first previewed this game in late 2009, and spent months wondering when it was going to be released. We found our answer as Mirror's Edge for iPad [$9.99] landed on the App Store as an iPad-only launch title for Apple's (then) new device. Back in April we thought it was inevitable that the game would be released for the iPhone Read More

Though there have been a few setbacks to this game (we think it’s been pushed to wait for the iPad in truth), the patience definitely paid off multitudes. Mirror’s Edge for iPad will surprise everyone even the most doubtful fans who are against the franchise receiving an iPad treatment. The graphics are luscious and the system was abused for the greatest Mirror’s Edge experience it can deliver. Presentation In case you have not already noticed, Mirror’s Edge iPad is nothing like the console version and has more of a sidescroller angle to it, unlike the first person view of the console.  Graphically, it’s a winner. The animation are very fluid and detailed. Faith can go from running, sliding, kicking, or rolling quite quickly and smoothly. Whenever you are near a cop, the game zooms in, and that’s when you can see just how detailed the graphics are. If you’ve ever played Read More
Let’s set aside the question of whether you should get an iPad and suppose you already bought one last weekend. You probably floated home and loaded it with a few whiz-bang apps and maybe even passed it around to your friends. At some point in all the euphoria, you may also have wondered whether this device is just a trophy or something you can actually use. Such self-doubts can be easily cast aside, providing you delve a little more deeply into the App Store than the Top 100 list — and are ready to open the wallet again. If you budget around $100 for a few new and upgraded apps, you can easily make the iPad into much more of a constant companion than something you just trot out when the neighbors are watching. Start with productivity apps, because a mobile device is most valuable when it lets you work anytime, Read More

Mirror's Edge for iPad
Calendar16 Tue, 06 Apr 2010 03:20:39 UTC +00:00
Mirror's Edge was a game originally released for consoles by EA and was actually a first person game. The game focused on parkour, an element rarely used in an FPS game, and made it the primary function. Instead of shooting or fighting your way through levels, the player was encouraged to run away and use the many acrobatic moves to escape. The game was most known for it's unique gameplay and awesome art style. Now the game has been brought over to the iPad. But instead of a first person game, which would have resulted in some extremely hard controls, the developers turned it into a side scrolling game. The game still includes the primary art style found in it's bigger brother's environments but on a smaller scale. The object of this game is to run as fast as possible through the level maintaining speed and occasionally taking down the armed Read More
Top 11 iPad Games You Need To Be Playing

The release of the iPad is finally upon us. Some of you were sitting at home, sipping your morning cup ‘o joe when your friendly FedEx man came by to drop off your iPad, while others sat outside of your local Apple Store on a milk crate for a week straight eating nothing but Doritos and Mountain Dew. Regardless of how you obtained your iPad, the important thing is that you have it. I posted an article on Friday showcasing games that were readily available for purchase on the App Store. The list covered a lot of great games from equally great publishers, but it lacked something important: My own personal picks! That’s right, this here article is a way for me to share with you what games I’ve played and recommend to new iPad owners. So without further ado, let’s get down to business. Mirror’s Edge for iPad - Review
Calendar16 Mon, 05 Apr 2010 17:40:20 UTC +00:00
Published: September 2, 2010 Comment         Updated. I remember a couple of years ago when a little game called Mirror’s Edge came out for the Xbox 360 and PS3; I also remember the flash game that came out shortly there after and was vastly superior, and free to play. Well EA has realized how good the flash game is and decided to bring it to iPad and iPhone, with a few tweaks and improvements of course. Mirrors Edge is a high seed side scrolling platformer. You play as Faith, who is a free runner trying to fight the power, and you do so by running. Kind of a odd premise, but whatever, there have been weirder games so I’ll let it slide. In the game you generally run from point a to point b while trying not to die. What makes the game interesting is that it’s based on momentum, Read More
'Mirror's Edge' Comes to iPad First, iPhone Likely Next
Calendar16 Sun, 04 Apr 2010 07:15:18 UTC +00:00
I don't think it's an understatement to say that EA's Mirror's Edge was one of the most anticipated iPhone games coming in early 2010. After a few delays, the game kind of disappeared until this past week when we learned that it had become an iPad launch title. Mirror's Edge for iPad is essentially identical to the iPhone version that we extensively previewed back in December. Our thoughts about the game then as now were very positive. In fact, Eli even said at the time that he had more fun with the iPhone version than he had with the console version. The world of Mirror's Edge is set in the future, where a totalitarian regime is in power and an underground resistance powered by runners move information around on foot to avoid to watchful eye of the government which have implemented intense levels of surveillance across all communication mediums. iPad Mania Begins… Syncing Now!

Since Arnold and Blake foolishly decided to trust the fate of their weekend in the questionably capable hands of Saturday delivery drivers, I'm the first person in the TouchArcade crew to successfully secure an iPad. I'm still waiting for the hundreds of iPad games we've been hoarding since they started showing up on the App Store to sync, but so far my initial impressions of the device are almost exactly what I expected. The screen is beautiful, browsing the internet on is great, and the included Apple apps (notably the iPad mail client) are especially impressive and will undoubtedly make the iPhone feel cramped in comparison if I get too used to it. The one thing that did take me by surprise is the weight of the device, especially being so use to the feel of my Kindle. But, according to reviews, the battery figures Apple provided apparently are accurate and Read More

It looks like we’re officially at the home stretch for tomorrow’s release of the Apple iPad as we’re now within 24 hours of its release.  If you’ve taken the plunge and are counting down the hours until its release, this may very well be the longest couple of hours you’ve ever felt in your life.  But hold on.  Have you even thought about what apps you plan on downloading for your new bundle of joy?  More importantly, what GAMES will you be wasting countless hours on your couch playing? Apple flipped the switch yesterday to allow iPad apps to be visible on iTunes.  The thing is, there are already a ton of games available for the iPad, and it hasn’t even launched!  That’s where your ole Uncle Danny comes in.  I’ve taken the liberty of scouring the App Store for any and every iPad game you should have your eyes set Read More

Some Early iPad Games that Have Our Attention
Calendar16 Fri, 02 Apr 2010 06:49:55 UTC +00:00
Today the iPad App Store opened up, revealing a great many iPad launch titles to those itching to see what they'll be loading onto their iPads when they arrive on Saturday. The amount of iPad app news this has generated today has us feeling as if we're standing in the middle of a tornado, admittedly. And so, without a great deal of rhyme or reason, I've chosen a few iPad games, now in the App Store, to highlight, the only real criterion being that they're titles we've not recently covered and are ones that I'm personally anxious to get my hands on. So, without further ado... The iPad adaptation of Minigore sounds better than ever with 14 playable characters, "guest stars" from Hook Champ, Zombieville USA, Sway, and Envrio-Bear 2010, and redone graphics to take full advantage of the iPad's screen acreage. Freeverse's real-time strategy title is here for the iPad, Read More

The Greatest game on iPad

love it.
Fun, but short
eddyspaghetti 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Finished it in 2 hours or so. Fun, but too short for the price. Played some time trials, but Leaderboards weren't working. What's the point in that? Anyway, looks great, but needed to be twice as long at least
Just alright
irfan786 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
It gets old pretty quick...definitely not worth $13. $5 maybe.
Good game, though overpriced for the length
Promethean 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
This is a very good game with a simple yet innovative control mechanism that creates a very engaging and visceral experience. However, weighing in at about 3 hours maximum, it is entirely too short for what EA is charging. This by itself would not be so bad, except the game seems to end halfway through the story arc, meaning there is no resolution and only a small part of the potential for this otherwise good game was utilized. Considering this value you may obtain in quality and length from other comparably priced games for the iPad, I would hesitate on this purchase until it reaches the $5 to $10 range.
Just doesn't deliver.

The visuals and music are stunning and the game play is fast paced, however some of the moves get increasingly difficult as fingerprints build up on the screen making the game miss moves and leading to a lot of frustration. Adding a virtual d-pad option would make this game a lot less frustrating. Also the game is incredibly short. At the point I thought I had beat the first big boss the game was over. There are some challenge races and speed tests, but overall I was disappointed.
Fun and pretty
Jerk Juggernaut 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
This game works very well on iPad. The controls are simple yet powerful and with the large display, your fingers never get in the way of the action. The graphics are gorgeous and the music, as in the original, is awesome. Very slick presentation, too. I just wish the unlockable wallpaper was higher quality and 1024x1024 so it would work well as iPad wallpaper... Which I think was the point anyway. If you like Mirror's Edge or fast paced platform games, don't hesitate to get this one!
Amazing

While a bit skeptical how it would turn out, I was cautiously hopeful about Mirror's Edge. It is based on an excellent console game from a couple years back that simply wasn't as successful as it deserved to be. The controls are pretty easy to get used to, yet not dumbed down as is often the case with mobile ports. The look, music and "feel" of the game match the original. And that is a very good thing! That said, I would have liked to see more of a pronounced storyline (as with the original) complete with cut scenes. While the action is good, it adds to the experience if you know who from and why Faith is running. More than anything, though, this makes me want a true console sequel to Mirror's Edge. Hopefully EA hasn't grown too conservative, as with a proper marketing push I feel that one would be very well received by gamers. Sure beats yet another Madden game or whatever usually gets churned out year after year! Anyhow, awesome game, and perfect for iPad.
Mediocre and overhyped, boring.
f1vespeed 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
The game has very few environments that keep getting repeated over and over. The story is told through crappy star wars style scrolling text between levels. The combat system is a snooze. The accelerometer based balancing tasks are worthless, you can't fail at them. Even worse the game is really really short and anticlimactic. Not worth the huge price.
Better than I imagined!

Wanted it since Jan - beautiful, intuitive, worth the wait.
Better than the console versions
pluto6 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Being a big fan of this game on the PS3, I had significant questions what this game would be like on the iPad, but I have to say, I actually like it better. So much time was spent trying to get angles just right on the PS3 controller, and so much frustration. With EA making this a 2 D side scroller, all the controls are very intuitive and Faith controls perfectly. The multiplayer is a phenomenal added bonus. Game is higher priced than many others out there, but totally worth it. One phenomenal app is worth a lot more than a bunch of OK apps...
This game is incredible!!!!

This game is buggy and it could cause memory leak problem. Some of you might encounter slow Itunes syn issues simply because of this game. By the way, save ur money and spend wisely. Don't waste it on this game like me =(
Stellar...except the end
DesignZak 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
The game is stunningly beautiful and a lot of fun. Sadly the ending is less about a culmination of the player's skill and is more an exercise in cheap frustration. Still, worth it for everything else, and if you're a fan of time trials there is plenty of replay value.
Fun

Good game but it won't get 5 stars from me until they fix the leaderboards.
Best game on iPad
gamebelongstome 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
This is the best game for iPad. Price is steep, will surely come down, but it is a very worthwhile app. Controls are very natural and intuitive. Graphics could be better though. Buy it, you won't regret it!
Stunning

This is by far the best running game out there. I love it!
WASTE OF $12.99 - DO NOT BUY
G.O.O.D Music 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
This was the worst $12.99 I have ever spent in my life. This game is terrible in every aspect. The developers did not put any effort into this game and you can sense that right from the launch. It gets terrible FPS, the concept is absolutely retarded, and the sound effects and music are horrible. If this game costed $.99 I would still say that it is terrible. EA has a lot of nerve trying to sell games that would be free online for this amount of money. I pray every night before I go to bed that EA will go out of business. You guys are washed up and only in it for the money which you obviously don't have after researching your stocks. Fire your CEO and everybody that makes more than $90,000 working for your company because your terrible. I am demanding a refund because I would have rather spent my money feeding my family than this piece of crap game. GOOD LUCK EA!!
Feel good game
Bad company boy 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Running through the maps swiping up and down right and left feels so natural and you don't even think twice about performing complex maneuvers. The graphics looks great and vibrant on the big iPad screen. This is a very fun a game that is easy to pick up and you will not regret your purchase.
Perfect iPad launch title.
GSD Architect 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
At first I was very skeptical about buying this, but after purchasing I did anything but regret it. Feels like a classic sonic game. The grace, the speed, and not to mention the graphics. It was a great adventure and is quite repayable. The controls are simple but feel pitch-perfect. You are usually just using one finger to control Faith (while this sounds weird, its really not.) and the ability to do most of the moves from the console versions is pretty sweet. The music and sound effects also sound great. The game itself plays very smoothly with too many hiccups. The head to head versus is also great fun. If your looking for a fresh alternative for a game for the iPad, make mirrors edge an early purchase. It is a full blown action title with a surprisingly decent story, fantastic graphics and awesome speed. This is truly one of the many games that really show the capability of the iPad. Hopefully other developers will look at Mirrors Edge to see how to make a good game! GET IT NOW!
Wow!!
amazingrugs318 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Spectacular. I like it better then the console version because the game is now truly about timing and skill. The controls work very well, had a few instances where I got stuck on walls but overall very smooth. If this is the future of iPhone gaming im sold!
Fun, slick, A+++
Rob.Vic 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I would say this is an amazing game that everyone should add to their iPad! I was really nervous about the price but engadget said it is worth it so i gave it a try. Worth every penny and then some. Such a slick game, graphics are amazing, and most importantly it is very fun! Rob from Victoria Canada
Have to experience it!

It really is something special - you have to play it to experience what I mean. - from my iPad
Awesome game, too short
YoMaster 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Great graphics, awesome gameplay, but overall the game was way too short. The ending was quite a letdown and it was very anticlimactic. Please add more levels with more advanced moves and this game will be the king of the hill! I played mirror's edge on the PC and hated it. This game is 10,000 times better than the PC version because it's not in first person. This puts cannabalt to shame!!
