Unless you've been living under a rock lately, you know that today's launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis, mission STS-135, signals the end of the shuttle program as we know it and the closing of a chapter in American human spaceflight. Weather and ten trillion other mechanical considerations permitting, the launch is at 11:26 a.m. ET and you can watch a live stream of the events right on NASA's website. You can also watch the launch on the NASA apps (listed below). Given the historic nature of the launch, you'll probably be able to find it on television as well. If you won't be near a TV or internet connection, don't worry. We've got your back. Here are five apps to keep you in the loop through the final countdown and beyond. NASA App for iPhone and iPad - These apps are really robust and pack a lot of cool stuff into Read More

Very cool!
JetForMe 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I love watching space shuttle launches. This app seems to give a pretty good idea of the launch status, and makes it really easy for me to keep track. I can't wait for the next shuttle launch to try it out!
This is exactly the app I was looking for!
Zamdog 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I love it, I now get at-a-glance info on all space missions. I've always been a space junkie, and spend a lot of time trying to find this info out. Now I never miss a launch or EVA. I think I'll be using this app a lot. Well worth it!
Great app!
Dlmom 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Fun app and functions well. It's great for my kids who are interested in the space program.
Awesome!
YellieBird 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Great Application. Slick UI makes it easy to find and track shuttle launches.
This app put me in Mission Control
SemperCogito 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Being able to see exactly what all our space missions are doing in real time is SO COOL!
simple and elegant
dLic 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
A simple and elegant way to stay up to date with Space Shuttle activities. I love the nicely formatted event lists and easy to read timers. This app puts you right in the action with detailed event lists for each mission. I have used it to track STS-127 so far and I am looking forward to STS-128 soon!
Great detail, well presented, extra information
natchthat 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I've been showing some NASA TV to my daughter, and she is fascinated with the missions and how they do work on the shuttle and the ISS. This app brings another level of detail, with the event listings and times of each event for each mission.
Instant updates! Very slick!
mjkobb 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I was just watching NASA TV for the STS-128 countdown, with Mission Clock running right along. It was really fun to watch the countdown events tick by as they happened on TV (only a few seconds off due to DirecTV's satellite delay). And, when the launch was scrubbed, I got an alert on Mission Clock within seconds.
Great app.
kspaulding 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
Overall this app is excellent, and gives updates right when they are released via a nice alert system. Everything is very clear & easy to follow. I'm very happy with it.
What a great app!
Zxml 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I got it just in time for the launch of STS-128. It is worth every penny!
Very Cool! More detail than you'd probably ever need. Has PUSH alerts to let you know of changes.
Gary LaPointe http://GarySaid.com/ 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
This is slick. All sorts of details. I was really hesitant to spend the $4.99 for it but I had heard that he specifically has to make changes by hand as NASA changes timelines.
Worth every penny!
MarkXPII 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
The app delivers on everything it promises. Notifications of aborts come within seconds of the abort. I would second the other reviewers that would like to hear the audio and for push notifications before major events, such as launches or things slamming into the moon (an hour, half hour?). Awesome app - would buy again even as is!
Wonderful Addition to the Space Enthusiast's Arsenal
ATalcott 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
If you are at all interested in the space program, then this is an application you must buy. When this application is running, it displays detailed information about upcoming events in active space missions. It's a great way to keep tabs on active missions and to be aware of what launches are coming up. There are so many launches that simply don't get press coverage, and this app allows you to stay up to date on what's going on with with the space program.
Absolutely fantastic!!
Jlucpicard 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
Worth every penny if you're a space enthusiast. Gives you a shuttle load of information that you cannot get elsewhere. You know exactly what is going on each minute. Including when the astronauts are sleeping.
Great app! Lots of info
Needs new art cover 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
It tells me everything that is happening and when new countdowns begin they automatically are added to my list to watch. Really cool stuff.
Lost the value, does not track major launches anymore.
MDuncan 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
It seems that there where several launches (progress resupply, Ariane 5 a.o.) and also future lauches (i.e. Ares 1-X) that are not even listed in the missions. I totally missed the progress launch in this app. This app totally will lose its point if it does not track all major nation's launches. I did not once get a notification. Please update the missions available so this app is worth the high price of $4.99. I am very disappointed right now. Technically this app is very good, there are a few points that might be refined but I would rate it 3.5 stars from that perspective. But since it does not do what it promises I am giving it 1 star now.
Love it
Rruuxch 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I love this app. It's so spot on! Watching the launch of the Ares I-X and all the Holdings are spot on! All information is update right in front of your eyes, while NASA are saying it on NASA tv. Brilliant.
Mission Clock is brilliant!
tjudd 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I work at Johnson Space Center and, when I am not in Mission Control, I am frequently on the go during missions briefing managers and decision makers on what's going on during flight. Of course NASA has our own 'official' events log, but Mission Clock gives me nearly flawless information in my pocket about what events are happening and when. This app helps keep me in the know and is indispensible!
