Flick Fishing

| $0.99 | Freeverse, Inc.
This post was published ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. I first downloaded this game because I have always wanted to try a virtual fishing game. I loaded it up, played it 2-3 minutes and said to myself, “eh… this sucks”. A couple days later, my daughter was playing it and I looked a little closer. After she was done, I fired it back up and ran my battery out playing it. For the next 2 days, I spent 4-5 hours in the game. I had to force myself to quit. :)   It’s pretty easy to get started if you want to play the game in a stand alone mode. Yes, you can play the game multiplayer on “Fish Net” too. The game is really simple to pick up, but they offer lots of instructions and in the game, the story mode helps guide you through various levels of difficulty.    You have to set up a game to use “Fish Net” and if you were given a net code, you have to enter in to fish with the “Fish Net” guys. I skipped that portion of the game, I played against the CPU in the multiple styles of play and difficulty levels.   Once you get through all the introduction info, you pick where you want to fish. The easiest catch is “the Old Pond”. This is a good place to get your feet wet and learn how to play. The initial sessions give on screen tutorials within the game to help you along.   Once you get bite, you can start reeling immediately or set the hook by pulling the iPhone back towards you. As you can see, I landed a WHOPPER there. Read More

TaskTask (Outlook & Exchange Tasks)

| $4.99 | RyanGregg.com
This post was published ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. Here is an application that I knew zero about until a friend reviewed it. Clinton Fitch reviewed this one for the same reason I decided to purchase it as well. It works seamlessly with Microsoft Exchange 2007. I am a heavy exchange user and haven’t been able to walk away towards the Google line up of services yet. I don’t know when I can, I am so used to using Exchange. Anyhow, let’s jump right into this one. As I mentioned above, I like to use the task lists within Outlook to give myself a heads up on what I have coming up and what I need to get done. Here is what my Outlook looks like for me most of the time.   You can see that I use this a quick look at what I need to do. I have been doing this for quite a while. These tasks sync with my exchange server and I have my tasks on whatever device I am using, including my laptop and phones. The problem is the iPhone doesn’t play as nice. Making it necessary to find something like TaskTask. I had been on the hunt for a replacement task program, but I really don’t want to sync with another program when I am perfectly fine with Exchange 2007. When you load up the app, you have all you work needing done crammed into your face. That’s a good thing though. I want to get the work done. The main page is sorted however you want to sort it. I prefer to sort by due date, which I believe was default. There are tons of options on Read More

Mixology™ Drink Recipes (Free)

| FREE | Digital Outcrop
This post was published ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. How fitting is it that this app review gets published on Sunday? On Sunday in Alabama, you can’t buy alcohol so it’s kind of funny that this one was day 7. Have you ever been sitting around with friends arguing about what is actually in a drink? One says Vodka, another says Gin. Now you can pull out your iPhone and prove them wrong (or right). I am taking a look at the free version of this app, Mixology. They paid app is called Mixologist. For $0.99, you can upgrade to Mixologist and make your own drinks and remove the ads. That’s about it. I think the free version is quite sufficient. Mixology is the ultimate drink recipe and bartending guide. As you can see above, you can look for drinks in all sorts of ways. You can use the liquor cabinet. With that, you can add your cabinet and have the program suggest drinks based on what you have. In the random mode (right), you can shake the iPhone and it will spin the wheels to suggest a random drink.     If you know nothing about bartending, you can take a crash course with the great info they have included. They have all sorts of info necessary for a bartender. Glasses, terms, etc. Even more info… You can share the recipes on Twitter, Facebook, and even email them. Wrap Up You don’t have to be a bartender to appreciate all the info included in this app, but if you are a bartender, I would say this is a must have application. The interface is easy to use, the guides are bang up, and you have Read More
