The following is a list of apps that you’ll want to pick up today, as they’ve all been suitably updated to look quadruply awesome: There are some pretty cool wallpapers being assembled over at The Verge – http://vrge.co/wfcOCh Read More
Apple showcases apps ready for the retina iPad
Calendar16 Fri, 16 Mar 2012 16:15:32 UTC +00:00
Apple wants you to enjoy that brand new retina iPad and has compiled a list of apps that are ready for the high-resolution display. It includes many of the big-name apps that were quick to get their app updated after Apple’s iPad announcement last week. The list includes entertainment apps, productivity apps, games, and more. Kelly spent the last three years covering mobile technology at places like BGR, Gizmodo and The Unofficial Apple Weblog. Before writing, she spent a few years working with and teaching others how to use Adobe Flash and Macromedia Director. Even earlier than that, she spent six years working on her Ph.D in Microbiology. When she's not writing, she can be found fishing the lakes and hiking the mountains of Western Maine with her husband and children. Read More
The Retina display on the new iPad, available Friday, is absolutely stunning. However, the increase in resolution actually makes some older apps appear all pixelated and gross. You don’t want to show off your brand new iPad and leave your friends with the impression that the screen on your new tablet is any less clear than a shimmering pool of unicorn tears. Here are several iPad apps that have been updated with Retina-ready graphics so everyone within eyesight can witness the pixel-pushing power of your new Apple tablet. Besides the titles that were featured in the iPad introduction event, Apple has setup a new section on the iTunes App Store to highlight Retina-ready titles. I’ve handpicked a few titles from this list and from other updates I’m aware of for you to try out. Keep in mind, this list is not comprehensive and there should be new Retina-optimized apps coming to the Read More

posted by Joe Rossignol on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 7:45 am.   The new iPad’s crystal clear Retina display is arguably the greatest feature of Apple’s new tablet, so you’ll definitely want to check out the early collection of apps that have been updated to work at the higher resolution. Gizmodo has pieced together a list of iPad apps and games that are deemed “Retina Ready,” ranging from Twitter and Tweetbot to Infinity Blade 2 and Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation. Check out the full list just ahead, and post in the comments if you know of any other App Store titles that take advantage of the extra pixels… Read More

It's iPad day and many of you are looking for the best Retina-capable apps to install on your new Apple tablet. Apple's got you covered with a section of the iTunes app store dedicated to apps updated to support the iPad's new retina display. We won't be able to list every single retina app in the App Store, but we will cover some of our favorites below. If there are any that we have missed, please let us know in the comments! Apparently Walmart will be selling them in just a few short hours, well before Apple itself does tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, the first direct-to-consumer shipments should be hitting anytime now. Long story short, a lot of people are going to be getting the new Retina display iPad over the next several hours. Unsurprisingly, the Retina-ready apps are already flowing in. posted by Marcus Nguyen on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 6:00 pm.   The US is under attack, KPR forces have taken control of American cities, and as an American soldier, you must fight to reclaim your country and take out the enemy’s leader. Sound familiar? Well it should sound a lot like the Modern Warfare series, except with KPR thrown in to replace Russian Ultranationalists and Zakhaev wherever needed. That’s exactly what this game is in a nutshell; Gameloft’s take on a series that Infinity Ward isn’t planning to port to mobile devices.  Read on for the full review: Like Call of Duty, the two main parts of the game are Campaign and Multiplayer. Gameloft doesn’t fail to impress with either. In the campaign, you’re told that a coalition of Russia, Pakistan, and Korea (KPR) have planted dangerous weapons in American cities and must stop them in the shoes of Read More
The 50 Best iOS Games of 2011: #50-1
Calendar16 Mon, 02 Jan 2012 22:18:44 UTC +00:00
In case you've been busy spending the holidays with friends and family, or just cross-country skiing to the North Pole, here's our recap of last week's epic, five-part series on the 50 best iOS games of 2011. How many do you own? #50: Temple Run In 2011, independent developers Imangi Studios had their biggest hit yet: The endless running game Temple Run. A cross between Canabalt and Raiders of the Lost Ark, in Temple Run you have to make split-second decisions and quick button presses to try to survive. The combinations of simple swipes and tilt controls, plus Temple Run's freemium pricing and stylish 3D graphics, made it one of the year's best high-score survival games. Our Bottom Line: Now is your chance to be Indiana Jones. #49: Tapper World Tour After nearly 30 years, the Tapper license awoke from a drunken stupor to revel in the App Store. Tapper World Read More
Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation Review
Calendar16 Mon, 02 Jan 2012 19:31:36 UTC +00:00
Posted 01/02/2012 at 11:31am | by Seamus Bellamy America has been invaded by a foreign military alliance, and things "from sea to shining sea" are getting pretty hairy. As part of an elite team of soldiers, you'll dispose of the military threat through the generous application of a wide variety of bullets, bombs, and blades, raining fire upon foes in the streets and from helicopters or a circling C-130 "Spooky" gunship. And you'll love it. With 13 single-player missions and roughly five hours of gameplay, Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation serves up a stellar single-player campaign -- but it's the online multiplayer that makes this a no-brainer for anyone who takes mobile fragfests seriously. Thanks to Gameloft's free Gameloft Live service, players can duke it out against up to 11 opponents in seven different ranked multiplayer modes. The game’s multiplayer level design lends itself to quick kills and frantic firefights, both Read More

With over 500,000 apps in the iOS app store, there are plenty of games to choose from, and literally hundreds that became popular in 2011. Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation
Calendar16 Fri, 04 Nov 2011 16:05:36 UTC +00:00
The Modern Combat 3 iPhone app has arrived and we’ve spent over a week playing it already while preparing this reviewing for you. Gameloft has become famous for creating their own versions of popular console hits, and their latest first-person shooter is no exception. It doesn’t take long to see the similarity between the new console hit Battlefield 3 and Gameloft’s new Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation, and for good reason. Modern Combat 3 is a visually stunning game that packages a great single-player campaign mode with one of the best online multiplayer modes available on iOS. Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation thrusts you into fighting a war on American soil. The first thing you’ll notice when you start up Modern Combat 3 is how great it looks. Everything is sharp and crisp — from the weapons, to the scenery, to the dramatic slow motion sequences that are activated when you Read More

First there was Modern Combat: Sandstorm [$4.99 / HD] which we described as one of the most impressive gaming experiences on the App Store at that time.  Next came MC2: Black Pegasus [$6.99 / HD /  Free], which we called " A new standard in online multiplayer". Now, Gameloft has released their much anticipated third installment, MC3: Fallen Nation [$6.99], which although not revolutionary, is easily one of the best first-person shooters available for iOS devices. This release is named "Fallen Nation" because America is under attack. The enemies are KPR (Korea, Pakistan and Russia), who have declared war on America and invaded US cities, reportedly destroying Chicago. Anyone familiar with the earlier games will find more of the same non-stop action in this military shooter, but Gameloft have extended their previous efforts to ensure this latest release is the best in the series. Because this game has so much going Read More
Review: Gameloft Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation

Company: Gameloft S.A. Players: One Price: $7 Compatible: iPod touch, iPhone, iPad Editor-in-Chief, iLounge Published: Friday, October 28, 2011 Category: Games - iPad, iPhone + iPod As impressively as Apple's iOS devices have evolved over the past year into direct rivals for both portable and TV-tethered game consoles, it's unrealistic to expect even the best App Store games to fully rival the gameplay of top console releases -- in other words, Gameloft's new Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation ($7) isn't a full-fledged replacement for Activision's $60 Modern Warfare 3. But if you're a fan of first-person shooters, we strongly recommend that you check it out nonetheless, as it's certainly amongst the most impressive examples of its genre yet released for Apple's devices. Better yet, it's a no-nonsense universal game with support for every Apple device sold over the past two years, so you don't need to purchase it separately for an Read More

[iOS-Game] Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation (+ Video)
Calendar16 Fri, 28 Oct 2011 08:27:35 UTC +00:00
State of the Art‘-Startschuss. * Alle selbstproduzierten Videos gibt’s auch Read More
