Mood Journal(bipolar disorder,
depression, mood disorder SAD-seasonal affective disorder,Mania)
About 20% of the U.S population reports atleast one depressive symptom in a given
month, about 12% report two or more in a
year. About 20 million Americans are
affected by bipolar disorder.
Mood journal allows you to keep a record
of your mood swings. This will help you to
learn to recognize your symptoms and
the pattern of your mood swings.
The built-in sleep chart will help you monitor your sleep pattern which you can later share with your physician, allowing him to make needed suggestions or changes to your prescription.
The medicine log in Mood Journal allows you to record side effects you may be
experiencing because your medication.
You can easily email this information to
your doctor. This again will help you
and your physician to work together to
manage the bipolar disorder.
Not only can bipolar disorder itself cause weight loss or weight gain, most of the medications used to treat Bipolar disorder are known to cause weight gain. The weight chart will be vital to help you manage this weight by monitoring any significant change in your weight.
The community aspect of Mood Journal will
give you a place to share your thoughts,
insights and problems with others who may
be experiencing the same difficulties.
Mood journal also has a listing of some very active organizations and resources which may help you control your bipolar disorder and live healthy, happy and productive lives.

Needs work

This has potential but there's a few things that need to be added.
It states I can email the charts to my doctor but no where on the app allows me to do so.
Also, I think I should be able to check more then one mood at a time and there should be more to choose from other then depressed or manic. With bipolar there's more to it then that, such as tired, withdrawn, lazy, irritable, etc.
Please update!
Great idea, but needs a do-over

The concept here is great, however I don't think even paper-based mood journals were looked at before creating this.
No other apps I found on the AppStore are doing what thus does - if you need an app like this write ViralMesh and send supportive feedback... let's help them get the app on track... for our and their benefit...
Nice additions!

It's nice to see the additon of sleep diary since I've been struggling with insomnia. Now I shared my sleep info with my doctor and it helped him pick the right medicine for me! I like going though the vibes section, it's good to know I'm not alone!!!
Awesome Idea, Awful Execution
For those of us with Bipolar Disorder there aren't many apps like this out there to choose from, so I was really hoping this would work out. I wasted my money on this because it isn't functional. Too bad.
Only app like this

Kudos for that but this isn't ready for prime time. There are many inconveniences and missing features that I would consider basic. Examples:
- amount only takes a number -no unit and it errs instead of restrictin fld to number. There is no time.
-you can not edit moods once you submit.
- there is a lot of misfires between screens
Personally I would prefer emphasis on a smooth app rather than community.
Misleading, limited

I saw the smile face icon and assumed the app would record a range of emotions without a lot of cartoony faces (like some other apps). But the icon is misleading. I only had to use it once to know I had wasted my $.
This app only allows one to track feeling stable, bad, worse or suicidal. There is no way to track feeling good, pretty good, great or fantastic, nor is there a way to track physical conditions (tired, out of it, achy...). It seems to only track clinical symptoms. In trying to guage my ups and downs to compare my moods before and after medication, this app is worthless.
If I were as depressed as this app expects, how would recording the depths of my depression in this way help me anyway?? What is the point of this app?
awful

Has opotential but fails in keeping accurate daily logs of medication use. I will continue to use a paper version of tracking untill a better version if this type of app is created :(
No times in logs

If you take medication more than once a day and the time you take any of your meds is crucial, you won't like this. The journal doesn't log times, only days. Theres nowhere to add notes, either. The sleep section only logs the total hours - but no place for notes, like what if you woke up every two hours? What if you had insomnia and missed work because you overslept? There are so many nuances to having mood disorders that this very bland application doesn't have any options to keep track of; I haven't found a single app that is capable, so I'm sticking to paper. Use an excel spreadsheet instead.
I like this!

Dealing with depression is a lonely thing. I really like the community aspect of this app. Its resources have been useful too. I found the journal keeping simple and pretty nice. Is there a new version coming soon? Would like to check it out!

I think this is a great idea for an application. I have found it to be very useful thus far, and glad someone decided to create an app for this.

Hi, i for one found this application to be fairly handy and easy to use. Ability to record multiple medication intake times with 2 click entries is what i really liked. The next time when my doctor ask me about my medicine history i will have the email from this application handy. The only thing i wish for is a password protection on the app since i may not want my roommates to see anything...
Convenience.

I really like this app because it's easy to record everything. Using a paper journal is less discrete and often times I forget to write things down when I don't have it on me whereas with my phone-it's awlays on me. I really appreciate the convenience factor having all categories covered for me in one place for recording and looking stuff over.
