While the erstwhile simplicity of this musical instrument makes it appealing on a purely egalitarian level, the true pleasure from using this inspired piece of application programming is its consistency. It opens up with a simple but powerful delivery by the classically-trained actor Christopher Walken. Thereafter a screen is presented containing a large rendered bell, the kind which can be found upon your stereotypical dairy bovine. Actually *touching* said bell generates a pleasant sound simulating the real thing. It is highly responsive, able to handle as many measures as I could throw its way. Further, this application is highly stable; after many, many hours of usage I have not experienced a single crash.

I have an iPod touch, and this app installed ok but there's no sound. I realize the Touch doesn't have external speaker, but I mean there's no sound from my earbuds neither. Basically just a real clear pic of a cowbell. ;p

If this app is supposed to make cowbell sounds its not working on my iPhone. If its just a picture you tap on then its stupid. Yes I love the SNL skit but without sound this make no sense. Mine must be glitching. Should be able to shake the phone and use accellorometer to make cowbell sounds. Mine must be broken. No way this has a four star ratting without sound.

This may be the single finest piece of iPhone software ever written. Nay. The greatest software for any platform. Ever. It has already replaced my word processor and web browser. I've started using it for email and FTP. I think it may work as a virus removal tool too. This has improved my life. I've quit smoking. My wife has started talking to me again. And my lawn has gotten greener. Who knew a cowbell could do so much! P.S. I wish I could turn off and on the cristopher walkin voice. Sometimes you just want grab your cowbell and rock.

This app doesn't even work. The instructions they give re tweaking the "Sound Effects" setting are completely bogus--there is no such setting! Please take this app off the store. It's a complete waste of time for users to download software, thinking it will work, then have to spend 15 minutes troubleshooting it; not to mention the frustration involved.
