Of course there's an app for this, but I'd never even considered it. While I do occasionally read .cbr (Comic Book Archive files) on my desktop, the iPhone didn't really occur to me as a portable comic book reading device. But sure enough, there are apps for that. iComic is probably the cheapest, but I hear it's a little tough to get set up. ComicZeal is extremely popular, and just a little bit cheaper from the somewhat similar myComics. Pull Lists uses a desktop client to sync up comics for you, which is a little more than I need, but it seems like some people like it. There are actually lots of choices, it turns out -- I would have thought that the iPhone's screen was pretty small for reading comic book pages, but I'll have to give those apps a try. I've been waiting for a good CBR/CBZ viewer and myComics fits the bill perfectly. The colors are vibrant and the controls work great. I had an issue with one file that, strangely, did not display any content, but everything else I've thrown at it displayed fine. Transfers to the iPhone are very fast but initial loading within the app are quite slow. Still - it's a minor issue and the app is well worth the money.

I'm giving this app 5 stars. It's a great app as comic viewers go. Most of the apps I've seen load an entire PDF at once and try to use the phone's processing to handle the entire file simultaneously, resulting in a slow unresponisive app. myComics loads one page at a time and does it well I might add. Moving around a page from panel to panel is flawless. No slowdown at all. And the transition from page to page is pretty smooth and intuitive. Not fast, but compared to other apps, absolutley acceptable. The thing that has impressed me the most is the support. I had a crash when I first installed, and emailed the Author. Before I got home from work then next day, I had an initial response. Not long after, I received a second response explaning that the error had been found and corrected, with a soon to follow update. It doesn't get any better. Great app. Great service. Thanks guys!
Could be better decent for the first verison

This reader is decent but not quite as good as their competition. Untill I see comics formated/optional software to make .zave format, I'm not really impressed with this app when I have comiczeal. Please make some new ground breaking features and I may start using this as my default comic reader on the ipod touch.
nice app with potential

nice app. works well and looks great. tested by uploading a .cbr file using safari. after the upload finished, the app took several minutes to convert the file on the iphone itself. after the conversion, the comic looked great. i'm sure the conversion time would be cut by using the desktop uploader software.

People who reviewed and trashed this app are impatient and ignorant. I will admit to having issues when it was a web log in. The staff was nice to me, responsive, and encouraging. Once the new updater was in, this app worked great! I have loaded about 50 CBS files and they all look great. Haven't tried CBR, but I know if they don't work, the team at Aquafadas will roll it in. The Jivaro loaded worked flawlessly. Thank you for your great support and awesome app Aquafadas!

i just purchased the app and went to the website to register. gave my email addy so they can send me a link to register. well, its been like 30 minutes already and i still have not received an email to "register". i'll post another review letting you know whether i got an email or not. as of right now...hold off from purchasing this app.

To start this app you will be asked to log into a website and register an email address. Then it sends you a link to validate your email. When you click it, it let's you know that it validated successfully. However, when you try to log in using that email address it tells you that it is not valid. I have tried with two different email addresses and the same thing happens both times. I've also tried waiting 24 hours to see if it needed to update. Still doesn't work. If some users are reporting that this program works then maybe it does for them, but it is not working for everyone and not worth wasting $4.00 for. ***Update Just installed the update released on 1/31/09. Still doesn't work. Oh, and these people saying that the tech support for the game is great are phony. The first thing I did when I couldn't get it to work was to contact them. That was almost a week ago and I still haven't received a response.

I have read the reviews, bought the Apps and did power cycle the iTouch/iPhone after installation as suggested. I have loaded a simple PFD file with only one page and 3 photos on it and it worked fine. I then tried to load about 10 real comic books in PDF format and it worked perfectly. You need to follow the direction for loading, install Jivaro on the PC/Mac side "et voila!".

Does exactly what it says. One small downside is you have to upload the ebool and restart the app or you lose the file and have to upload it again. Overall nice inerface, and am impressed with the ability to rotate and get a better view of small-text files.
Works like magic cheesecake and eats comics up well [needs .RAR support!]...

Finally! This is the app I've been waiting for. Have loaded up and read pdfs, cbr, and cbz perfectly. Navigating and reading is very intuitive and easy. Can zoom in and out smoothly. Not that this is specific to this app but in general I have been surprised how enjoyable reading comics on the iPhone is. Not nearly as annoying as one would think.


I bought this for reading my collection of git Corp comic PDFs. It's easy to transfer the files and the viewer works well. Occasionally it will crash but it remembers where you were. As you go to each page, it takes a couple seconds to render it. I have another comic viewer that translates the PDFs to cbi format, which is faster to view the comics on the iPhone, but takes a few minutes to convert each PDF on the pc, so it's a tradeoff. Good app!

I really liked this app. It works. It seems pretty solid. My only gripe is the image rendering. When I enlarge the image to read the text it gets kinda blurry, almost unreadable. I also have the pull lists app, it doesn't blur as much as this app but it's not very stable. Seems like I can never win... Well, atleast for now anyways. Hahaha...

Ok I never do reviews on any apps i buy but i have been looking for a pdf converter for my files to put on my iphone and i have had no luck untill this. I have over 100 comics in my iphone and still have more to transfer if you love comics and have digital copies laying around u need to get this app. It works like a champ and to me it has no problems what so ever. It is a must have.

App Keeps Crashing

I have an iPhone 3G S and the App constantly crashes. I have had to remove the app once already and now after I loaded ~4GB of Comics the app will no longer open. It took all night to load and now the app opens, loads for 2-3 seconds and closes. I have contacted support and not heard back. I have tried 2 other apps that should do the same, and none work well thus far.

This app works really well for me so far. I've read about a dozen comics and it's been a good experience. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that dragging the page around the screen is harder than it should it be. The dragging simply doesn't seem to flow well. I often have to lift my finger off the screen and put it back on again to get to where I want to be on the page.
