I am an Architect and I can think of so many uses for this app just for that. But it is also great if you are trying to sell something online, or take a trip to the lumber yard and want to bring a sketch ot what you are working on, or buying window treatments and you can bring dimensioned pictures of the windows. I could go on and on.

Very useful application. I am building my house and it is great to have all dimensions i need with me all the time.

Im going to us it on my business trips to document product, then I can email the photo back to the shop. It's going to work great, exactly what I needed. Several arrow options with color coding, and yes it offers ft & inches too! Very intuitive, super simple and fast to layout, edit, add and move dimensions around. Please expand this app, would love to have a single line with a dot or arrow on one end and a dimension on the other end. Also it would be nice to be able to enter TEXT. I'm a contractor and this app will come in handy. It's a lot quicker than I thought to add measurements to the picture. I hope they implement folders to put pictures in for different projects. Great app!

very impressed with this, it feels like an app which has been well tested, it makes good use of touch screen with the spreading finger gesture to start a new ruler and really really neat loupe style enlargement so you can get your arrow points just right. it'll be perfect for carrying round dimensions of places we want to buy furniture for instead of scraps of paper in my pocket or burying the info in a notes app. your image is always on screen and scales to fit the keyboard in when you enter text, this is a neat thing but the animation is little slow on a 3GS, smooth, but slow. one thing i can see being necessary is a way to organize images so you can have as many pics as you like of one object stored in one folder for instance. hopefully that is coming soon in a new release. very please with this, it does what many great apps do, it just makes the phone indispensable.

Very clever app. It does what it says using pretty simple steps. Quite ingenious.

Perfect App. Needs the ability to input feet/inches in one measurement. IE 6'-3". Please make an update for this.

I downloaded this app and tried it out and it works great. The only thing i would like to see is if the app can create the measurements on its own without having to type them in manually, do that and the app will be perfect. Overall the features are great and the app is well worth the money.

this is one of those little gem apps that comes around every once in awhile - and is so specifically useful with the iPhone. my gal and I are redoing our apt and this app is perfect to measure, shoot and email our existing furniture and stuff to our interior designer. bravo!

As a woodworker who takes site measurements everyday, I've been looking for an app like this for a while; so glad to have finally found one. It's a very simple idea and beautifully executed. Well worth $4. I'd love the option of inputting measurements in fractional form as well as decimal. Decimals can get kind of tricky when dealing with 32nds of an inch. Overall, a great app! Thank you.

All this does is take pics and add arrows... No measurements... Just arrows... Woooow... This should have been free.. Cuz now I feel ripped off!

Needs: fractions, Feet and inches, Ability to type simple notes to help clarify dimensions i.e 5'-5" T.O FRAME 2" FRAME... Etc.

Nice but you need to add angle and radius and text on dimension line or note

Really enjoy this app, the ability to display feet-inches on the same line is extremely helpful...(just hit the ft-in tab, then input the feet, tap the decimal key, then input the inches & there you go...)...very pleased 

GREAT App! I am an architect - constantly needing to record dimensions of existing conditions. I always have to sketch the space first to have something to write dimensions on - now I use this! Love the way the zoom works so you can see exactly what the arrow is pointing to - and love the elegance of the interface. Good job!

I am an architect and I am constantly on site and need to quickly measure rooms, buildings and millwork, so this application is great for that - I dont have to carry a notebook, pen and clipboard, etc...It takes advantage of the touch screen very nicely and the input and interface is very intuitive. The zoom feature is fantastic - I just wish the iphone screen was bigger and the camera was sharper.

Initially I thought this was a measuring device. It is not. It is a photography related device that allows you to take a photo then draw lines upon the subject matter and then manually input measurements you have taken with a tape-measure etc. If you are a contractor, or a installer etc. that needs to catalogue specific measurements of items you have already measured, this is for you. It beats drawing a square on a piece of paper with hand sketched measurements along the borders.

I have been wanting to get curtains for my house for the past few years but can never remember where I put the measurements for the windows after I've written them down. This tool comes in handy and lets you take pictures of what it is you need to measure then add the measurements to the picture. The only drawbacks are the fact that you can't name the picture in the photo library or save it with a name.The price could be lowered to $2.99 as well. Those 2 upgrades would make me upgrade my rating to 5 stars. I really love this application and am now going to go measure my household windows!

This is a great app when you need to send out specs for something right away. Now all I need when I'm on a site is my iphone and a tape measure. No need to take copious notes on every little nuance and try to describe it over the phone. I can send something out real time and get a number back while I'm still there! And all the pics are on my phone and downloaded as part of the project file.

The app allows you to take a photo and then to draw lines from one part of the photo to another. IT DOES NOT ACTUALLY MEASURE ANYTHING! You need to then use a measuring device to take the measurements that you want and annotate them onto your photo. I can see how it might be useful for someone at a remote site to do this and then send the annotated photo back to a home office, spouse, etc - but it does not measure - something that is not clearly stated in any of the description. My second issue is that when you click on the "My Measures & Dimensions Support" link at the top of the page, all you get is marketing photos of the app in action. There is no way to ask a question, request a new feature, search through FAQs, etc. So, there's really no support available at the support link.

MY Measures and Dimensions ($3.99) app has been downloaded and reviewed -user "Mikerey" and title is "Excellent tool for storing records of scenes-locations-buildings to spec and sizes ". Took a little getting used to this but was able to either take a picture or use one in library, measure different sized walls, windows, sizes, containers, and store this for future reference or email it. Excellent for record keeping in dealing with pipelines, containers, houses, driveways, trees, etc especially when you are trying to communicate this to a contractor or someone logging info in a database. Excellent for legal matters as well.

I like the concept and definitely will keep using the app but patience is a virtue with it. The app loads very slowly and the UI does not seem to be optimized - meaning you'll wait for things to happen. On the plus side, the usefulness is great. Overall I'd say it's not a bad start to what could be a great app.

The only thing wrong with this app is that it wasn't available two years ago when I built my house! I'm always prowling antique stores and regional markets looking for home decor "finds" and this app will allow me to both keep a handy reference of room dimensions in my pocket, and also let me bring home pix of potential purchases WITH dimensions labeled so I can check the "fit".

Love update. Great functional improvement. Few things that would further enhance: 1.Add leader lines to dimensions-ability to drag dimension away from measured area and retain leader lines extending to original points being measured. This would also allow several dimensions to be shown from a single point to several other locations with the dimensions adjacent one another. 1a. Related to 1, lock a common point from which to show multiple measurements extending from 2. Ability to rotate text, at least dimension text. 3. Ability to relocate text location between ends or arrows of linear dimension, or between lines defining angular dimension - closer to or further from intersection of lines defining the angle 4. A. Either ability to call out radius or diameter (can kind of do this with an arrow and text box with new update but still have box around text) or B. ability to have color selectable stand alone note text without any surrounding text box. These would enable more efficient placement of dimensions and improve readability A really cool feature would be to be able to select a section, highlight it to zoom and have dimensions of zoom in a corner of main pic. I realize you could just have two dimensioned pics Rating it 5. Happy with improvement from prior release, folder options, filename options. Nice adds. Love finger zoom to create measurement. Would dig the above mentioned updates and could use on professional level instead of other tools. Until then it's more recreational than capable of replacing engineering or Photoshop type tools for quick dimensioned drawings

I don't often write reviews but felt compelled to do so here. This is an extremely well thought out and simple application that accomplishes exactly what it described. Yeah, I am sure we all could suggest something to make it do this, that, or the other but boy is it refreshing to buy an app that hits the intended bullseye dead on. I just wish I could say the same for many of the other apps out there.

This is basicly a photo note pad just draw a floor plan and use a tape measure. Please tell me if I am missimg something but test I did the app vs pen and paper the app took two and a half times longer as the photo taking add slot of time since You footage get the right shot. Again am I missimg something i can't get a photo to have more than one measure

I'm a contractor sales rep and this is so handy for me. I cab just take a photo with measure on it and relay that info to my crew so easily. Definitely worth every penny for the hassle it's saved me.

My Measures is a simple concept executed flawlessly! It is such a timesaver to use a photo rather than scribble pictures on a post-it. With the recent addition of angle measures, image naming, and folder organization, My Meaures gave me features I didn't even know I was missing.
