On October 10th, one of the longest running tech rumors in recent memory finally came to fruition: Facebook released its own, official iPad application. The app had been in high demand since the day the iPad first launched (Facebook’s iPhone app is, after all, among the platform’s most popular of all time). But there was no iPad app available on launch day. Nor was there one the day the iPad 2 came out. But that didn’t stop people from heading to the app store and typing ‘Facebook’. In the mean time, some enterprising entrepreneurs took the opportunity to launch their own, unofficial Facebook iPad apps — which millions of people wound up downloading. One of these is MyPad (formerly called FacePad), which has seen strong growth since it first launched in January, offering access to Facebook features like Photos, News Feed, and Chat — with an interface that’s slicker than the web Read More
Facebook iPad app looks to give us what we want
Calendar16 Mon, 25 Jul 2011 12:41:52 UTC +00:00
Facebook’s iPad app is no longer mere rumor and speculation. Twitter user @AeroEchelon discovered that the full code for an iPad version of the app resides in the latest Facebook for iPhone update (which means Facebook will likely make the app universal instead of releasing a separate, iPad-only version), and TechCrunch got the app up and running on an actual iPad device. It took them awhile, but it looks like the social network will soon set things right for its iPad-toting users. The lack of a proper native iPad client for Facebook has been a glaring absence ever since Apple launched the device last year. In the time between then and now, countless Facebook clients created by third-party developers have sprung up on the App Store, including current pack leader MyPad (which also provides access to Twitter, thanks to a recent update), but there is still nothing from Zuckerberg and co. TiPb Picks of the Week
Calendar16 Sat, 28 May 2011 19:31:09 UTC +00:00
By Leanna Lofte, Saturday, May 28, 2011 | Every week a few of us from team TiPb will bring you our current favorite, most fun and useful App Store apps, WebApps, jailbreak apps, even the occasional accessory, web site, or desktop app if the mood strikes us. As long as they’re iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch related, they’re fair game. To see what we picked, and to tell us your pick, follow on after the break! I’ve tried a lot of Facebook replacement apps for iPad. So far, my favorite has been MyPad+. If you use the official Twitter for iPad client, you should feel right at home. I personally like Twitter for iPad so MyPad+ suits me well. Friended and Friendly always seemed to be missing a lot of timeline information. I haven’t experienced that with MyPad+ yet. I’d really like a Facebook app with notifications but I guess we Read More

Calendar16 Tue, 24 May 2011 16:16:11 UTC +00:00
By George Lim, Tuesday, May 24, 2011 | Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerburg has famously said that “The iPad is not Mobile” and so Facebook has no plans to develop an official iPad app. Luckily there are plenty third party Facebook apps in the App Store. We’ve already given you our top 10 apps and games for iPad but this time we’re going more specific, and more social! So read on for TiPb’s Top 5 Facebook apps for your iPad! (And hey, don’t forget to friend TiPb while you’re at it!) MyPad+ is a great Facebook client that looks and feels like Twitter for iPad. If youre used to the official Twitter app, you will feel right at home. MyPad supports multiple logins, and implements Facebook, in a really sleek fashion. The app also includes completely native chat and a built-in browser for any of those external links. Friended displays lots of Read More

I prefer this over friendly for iPad just because this app is a lot more reliable than friendly.

I gave this app 5 stars, even though it's still missing check-ins and pages. But the dev is working on it! Looking forward to the new coming features. :)
