Today, Robyn and Jon were joined by the newest member of the ReadWriteWeb team, Taylor Hatmaker! The topic was games, specifically vast, immersive, whole-world adventures like Minecraft and the new Diablo III. Both Robyn and Taylor are accomplished gamers, and Jon is not, but he pretended to know what he was talking about. Here are links to the posts and topics we talked about: We hang out at 11:00 a.m. Pacific on Thursdays, and you're welcome to join us or just watch live. (Here's the time for every time zone.) The 20 Best iPhone Retro Games: #10-1
Calendar16 Fri, 05 Aug 2011 20:24:47 UTC +00:00
It's great that there are so many brand new games hitting the iPhone and iPad every day, but for old-school gamers, the return of countless favorite franchises is even better. Also check out numbers 20 - 11 here, and be sure to let us know what your list would include in the comments section below. #10: Commodore 64 Commodore 64 is well-made collection of retro games, featuring a wide selection of titles that kept people very happy on their computers in the 1980s. A Discounted Blast From the Past: 'Myst' Drops to 99¢
Calendar16 Fri, 20 May 2011 22:18:13 UTC +00:00
Originally released all the way back in 1993, Myst [99¢] was the best selling PC game of all time until The Sims stole that title in 2002. If you had a computer with a CD-ROM drive in the mid-90's, chances are you've played Myst. If for some reason you haven't, or this era of PC gaming is before your time, here's the gist- Myst is a first person puzzle-centric exploration game set in a pre-rendered 3D world which was absolutely breathtaking to behold when it was originally released. It's entirely tap-driven to move around and fiddle with the various in-game widgets to solve puzzles and progress through the game. For more details, check out Arn's eloquent reflection on the game from back when it was originally released. For 99¢, this is a blast from the past you shouldn't miss.   #6   Today, 03:10 PM Senior Member iPhone 3G, OS 4.x Read More
Looking for a Bargain? iPhone/iPad Apps on Sale Right Now!
Calendar16 Fri, 20 May 2011 17:37:22 UTC +00:00
If you’re on the lookout for a new app this weekend, then you’re in luck as there are a few great titles on sale at the moment.  We’ve gathered together a variety of them below, and included some easy links to the App Store. The iPhone version of this classic graphical adventure game is regarded as one of the very best adaptations, and if you haven’t played it before then now’s the time to give it a shot.  It’s not for everyone though, as it’s a fairly straight point-and-click adventure with a brilliant atmosphere.  $0.99/£0.59. If you’re one of the very few iPhone/iPad owners who hasn’t purchased Infinity Blade, then perhaps the new multiplayer update has tempted you.  If it has, then it has been reduced for a limited time.  $2.99/£1.79. A 3D dual-stick shooter with Game Center support.  There are plenty of missions, weapons and enemies to blast in this Read More
Cyan Running 'Riven: The Sequel to Myst' Half Price Sale
Calendar16 Fri, 28 Jan 2011 16:22:35 UTC +00:00
Cyan Worlds is currently running a limited time, half price sale on [App Store] for the iPhone and iPod touch. Riven, the best selling game of 1997, the year of its release, is, as its name suggests, a followup to Cyan's famed 1993 surreal graphical adventure (which is also available in the App Store [link]). In Riven, the player resumes the role of the first game's protagonist, The Stranger. Atrus, author of the linking books that provide access to the various Ages, needs The Stranger's help in rescuing Catherine, his wife, who is held captive by the evil Ghen in the dying Age of Riven. Like Myst that came before it, Riven is a point-and-click adventure, but with far more lush scenery and animations. The iOS version of the game features Cyan's new "Shake-A-Hint" system, that highlights action points to help the stuck player along. Riven HD, a native iPad version of Read More
Riven: The Sequel to Myst now available for iPhone
Calendar16 Wed, 15 Dec 2010 08:00:00 UTC +00:00
Riven, the sequel to Cyan Worlds' bestselling game Myst, is now available on the App Store. The original version of Riven came out in 1997 for multiple systems and was widely acclaimed; 13 years later, Riven has an opportunity to reach an entirely new audience of gamers. In August of 2008, Cyan announced that they'd port Myst to the iPhone, and it became available in July of 2009. Following the success of the original Myst on iOS, we heard back in February that Riven would be coming to the iPhone "by early summer at the latest." In Cyan Worlds' defense, they didn't say which hemisphere's summer they were talking about... Riven is available for US$5.99 and is a huge download -- it's over a gigabyte, and due to iOS installation quirkiness, the game requires 2GB of free space before it will install on your iOS device of choice. Riven also has Read More
Let's rewind time back to 1993. You're sitting at your brand new (or Frankstein monster of upgraded components) DOS-based PC staring at this newfangled CD-ROM drive that you paid an insane premium for, wondering what in the world to do with it aside from listen to your DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince CD on repeat while marveling at just how cool your acid washed jeans were. One thing lead to another and eventually you found yourself staring at the shelf of CD-ROM PC games at the local Egghead Software trying to rationalize the $79.95 price tag. You haven't played a CD-ROM-based game before, and decide to give it a try. After jumping through all the hoops that installing the game required, you find yourself knee-deep in one of the most impressive things you've ever seen your computer do: Display full motion video and offer a shockingly immersive atmosphere that Read More
Early this year we got word that Cyan's Riven: The Sequel to Myst, would be making its way to the iPhone. An update came in a Myst online forum post by Cyan's Mark DeForest ('Chogon') back in August, including a few screenshots and an indication that an iPad version, Riven HD, would follow the iPhone release into the App Store. This past Saturday, DeForest announced that Riven has finally been submitted to Apple and that we can expect to see it in 10 days to two weeks. A number of specifics concerning this release have been revealed in Cyan's Riven for iOS forum thread. We'll be sure to let readers know when Riven: The Sequel to Myst goes live in the App Store. Cyan's classic [link] arrived in the App Store in the Spring of 2009 and is currently priced at $4.99.   #6   Today, 03:10 PM Senior Member iPhone Read More

Calendar16 Sat, 21 Aug 2010 19:20:51 UTC +00:00
by Apple’s iPhone may mark a second golden age of computer gaming for a lot of reasons. The open marketplace means anyone can create a game; from major companies to just a couple of talented people in a garage. The result is a new boom in innovation, the likes of which we haven’t seen in about 20 years. Even with all the potential for innovation, maybe you still want to relive that first golden age of gaming. If you’re excited for how new tech can update the classics, then this list is for you: 10 of the greatest, most influential, straight-up classic computer games ever made, all available on and completely remastered for Apple’s handset, and in most cases also playable on the iPod touch and iPad. There are so many phenomenal PC game ports for the iPhone that we had a hard time narrowing it down to just 10. We Read More
Early last month we posted about Cyan's plans to bring the childrens' adventure game The Manhole: Masterpiece Edition [$1.99] to the App Store. The game just became available for download this morning, and I must admit, approaching the game for the first time as an adult is a little odd. The Manhole really has no goal other than exploring the fantasy world laid out in front of you after you climb a beanstalk which grows out of a manhole. As a gamer I'm almost trained to try to figure out where to go, or what to do, or what item I need to solve a puzzle, or countless other things. It's just really strange to be thrown in to a game universe where you don't do any of those things, and instead, you just see what there is to see. The original version of the game was released in 1988 using Read More
'The Manhole' – Coming Soon from the Makers of Myst
Calendar16 Fri, 02 Jul 2010 20:12:04 UTC +00:00
Per a recent posting on the Myst forums, Myst [$4.99 / Free] just had an update submitted to Apple to add iOS 4 compatibility. Interestingly enough, also mentioned in the same thread by Cyan employee Chogon is the fact that yet another Cyan classic is coming to the App Store: The Manhole. The Manhole is a children's adventure game written by Rand and Robyn Miller, founders of Cyan (and creators of Myst). It was developed for the early Macintosh using Apple's , one of the first available hypermedia authoring systems. The game was Cyan's first release and was published on floppy disk in 1988. In The Manhole, you open a manhole revealing a giant beanstalk which can either be climbed up or down with no real objective other than to simply explore the game world and have fun. The Manhole has since been re-released in a number of forms on various Read More
Myst Sequel ‘Riven’ Coming to the iPhone This Summer
Calendar16 Thu, 11 Feb 2010 01:12:30 UTC +00:00
Last summer, Cyan Worlds released a port of their PC classic Myst on the iPhone platform.  The iPhone version was pretty much an exact copy of the PC version, except all mouse inputs were replaced with on-screen inputs.  According to a recent post on the Myst Online Forums, it seems Cyan Worlds will be releasing the sequel to Myst, Riven, to the iPhone later this summer. Riven takes place immediately after the events of Myst, and just like Myst, players interact with prerendered environments to solve various puzzles in order to progress through the game’s story.  The puzzles in both Myst and Riven are some of the most thought provoking puzzles I’ve ever experienced in any video game in all of my life.  I thought the puzzles in Return to Zork were tough, but all that changed when I played Myst & Riven. Daniel is a Jersey boy, born and raised. He currently Read More
Riven coming to iPhone
Calendar16 Wed, 10 Feb 2010 17:00:00 UTC +00:00
Here's great news for Myst fans with iPhones -- a port of Riven will be available this year. According to a post on the Myst Online Forums, the game is in development and will be released "...by early summer at the latest." Just in time for gaming at the beach! Riven is the sequel to Myst, the adventure game that revolutionized the industry when it was first released for the Mac in 1993. The goal of Myst is to solve a series of complicated puzzles and ultimately answer the question, "What's going on here?" Riven is the sequel to Myst and describing its plot would reveal spoilers for both, so we'll let you play it for yourself. Myst for iPhone was released last July to the praise of the game's dedicated fans. I've played both the Mac and iPhone versions, and am happy to say that the iPhone port is faithful Read More
I personally like to call 2009 the year of the ports for the AppStore. There are so many games being ported to iPhone it’s incredible. So here’s a look at some of our favorites this year. Remember we can’t possibly post about ALL of them. #1 – Earthworm Jim – Review – iTunes Link – Lite Version Honestly probably the best port I’ve played so far on my iPod, and personal favorite. As a platformer fan I was delighted to hear Gameloft was bringing Earthworm Jim to iPhone with updated graphics. It wins my vote for  best port because that’s just what it is, a great port. The controls fit right in with the iPhone, keeping it challenging yet controlable. And it’s the real deal, not scaled down or anything. It’s one of the best platformers I’ve played on iPhone. #2 – James Cameron’s Avatar - Review – iTunes Link Finally, Read More
iPhone Games 2009: A Retro Gamer's Heaven
Calendar16 Sun, 27 Dec 2009 00:06:50 UTC +00:00
One of the most surprising things about the App Store is just how big a draw it has been for us old timey gamers like Blake and myself. Being in our mid 30's, we remember the days when processor megahertz were measured in the single digits and having most of these games on your home computer would have been amazing, much less on your a mobile device. That's not to say you have to be over 30 to appreciate these titles. Anyone who has been gaming at all in the past 10 years is sure to find something that appeals to them. Unfortunately, there have been some disappointments along the way, but here's a list of some good retro ports that we've run across in 2009. The Oregon Trail - This isn't quite the same game you'll remember playing in grade school, but it's close enough. The core gameplay was preserved, Read More

'Myst Free' – Relive (Part of) Myst for Free
Calendar16 Tue, 06 Oct 2009 05:32:26 UTC +00:00
Cyan Worlds recently released a free version of Myst that will allow you to relive some of the 1993 classic adventure game. While technologically rather simple from today's standpoint (mostly static images), the game's graphics and soundtrack were remarkably immersive. The game starts you on a strange island where you must explore your surroundings, solve puzzles and figure out the backstory. The free version of Myst allows you to explore Myst island while the full has 5 additional ages to explore. Removing that additional content shrinks it down to 124MB, so still a sizable download. Meanwhile, the full version has dropped $1 to $4.99. If you've never experienced Myst, here's your chance. Amazing game, and I have played (and deleted) most of the games in this category. Currently Crime City is the one I have spent most time and the only other one left on my phone, but I think this Read More

There are few iPhone games that I will immediately buy. Most of the ones I do, however, are the classic games I played as a teenager. The iPhone/iPod touch is more than powerful enough to handle these games and it seems that there are many people like me who are keen to experience these classics again. So, here’s a roundup of modern ports of classic games. Only official ports of classic games are detailed here — clones and the like do exist but I had to draw a line in the sand. I’ve also included links to Wikipedia for those interested in the history of the games. The Video Arcade is where mainstream gaming began, and there are plenty of original ports from this era to re-live your youth shoving coins into cabinets. I’d still like to see BubbleBobble make an appearance here to completely satisfy my urges. Release Year: 1978Original Read More
Chillingo has partnered with developer Tetraedge to bring you a new adventure game based on Jules Verne’s novel, The Mysterious Island. Return to Mysterious Island for the iPhone and iPod touch puts you in the shoes of Mina, a sailor who is stranded on the shores of an island somewhere in the south Pacific.  The game allows you to explore your surroundings to uncover artifacts, living spaces, and technologies that have been left behind by the previous inhabitants. Return to Mysterious Island contains some impressive looking 3D graphics along with an intuitive in-game tutorial to help you through the first parts of your adventure.  As you explore the island, you will come across various mini-games and intriguing puzzles, that together with the exploration part of the game should allegedly keep you entertained for over 15 hours of gameplay.  Over 15 hours of gameplay seems like a lot for an iPhone game, but Read More
App Review: MYST for iPhone
Calendar16 Mon, 18 May 2009 01:31:42 UTC +00:00
By Matt Sawyers, Sunday, May 17, 2009 | Note: I did not review this quite as in-depth as I normally would as I felt that reviews regarding Myst are all over the place and I would be just be repeating what everyone else says, so I just commented on the port itself. For those of you that do not know what Myst is, it is a port of the old Myst computer game. Myst is an adventure puzzle game in which you are attempting to find your way off the island, or rather attempt to figure out how all the things around you work. Having played the original Myst, the iPhone version is just like it. It consists of multiple 3D still images that fade from one to another depending on the area of the screen you touch. Controls are very simple here. You tap in the direction that you want Read More

Myst
Calendar16 Thu, 07 May 2009 23:20:33 UTC +00:00
Myst has finally arrived for iPhone and iPod Touch. The game was hailed as the best-selling PC game of all time up until early 2002 and anyone who has played the game knows exactly why. It offered a unique approach to gaming, giving players virtually no information from the start of the game as to what they were supposed to do. With the popularity of handheld devices on a steady rise and the gold mine named the "App Store", Cyan World has decided to resurrect their classic in hopes of inspiring yet another generation to dive into the discovery of their puzzling world. The gameplay of Myst is focused primarily on inspiring logical thinking and promoting patience and determination from its players. It is a first-person journey through a world riddled with riddles. Movement is handled by tapping on locations viewed on the screen which then crossfades into another frame opening Read More
'Flashback' Ported to the iPhone!
Calendar16 Thu, 07 May 2009 10:44:07 UTC +00:00
Flashback [App Store] is a game developed by the long-gone french game developer Delphine Software for the Amiga in 1992. Since then it got picked up by various other companies and ported to a ridiculous amount of different platforms. Notable at the time for its unusually fluid, rotoscoped animation, Flashback has existed on everything from the Acorn Archimedes to the Sega CD, and most of the consoles in between. As far as cinematic platformers are concerned, it has few rivals. I first came in to contact with Flashback on the Sega Genesis, originally attracted to the game because of the comic book that came with it and the way they marketed the cartridge. (Supposedly it was the largest cartridge ever sold at the time.) In a time before GameFAQs I'd quickly get stuck or die, but still had a lot of fun. You play the role of Conrad B. Hart who Read More
Flashback: Classic adventure game Myst comes to the iPhone
Calendar16 Wed, 06 May 2009 15:47:01 UTC +00:00
Purveyors of classic PC games remember Myst with a fond sigh and a rush of nostalgia. It’s a throwback to the classic days when 3D imagery on computers was but a pipe dream, and complex puzzles and dreamy backgrounds made for an experience like none other (at the time). Myst has now come to the iPhone. It’s a 730MB download that requires 1.5GB of free space to install (yes, that’s a lot). It costs $6, which isn’t bad when you think when it was first released, it was a $50 game, and people eagerly paid it. Anyone who counts themselves a classic game fan simply has to get ahold of this one; it’s smooth and well-done, and the graphics are close to as stunning as the original ones on the PC, based on screenshots (one seen here). It’s available in the App Store right now. Posted on May 6th, 2009 by Read More

Amazing Again!
Dan Salvato 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Myst will provide you with hours upon hours of a wonderful experience of thought and discovery. I know people will rate this game low because they get stuck in the game, but please, please take the time to make your way through, although you will get frustrated a few times if you can't figure something out. Myst remains one of the greatest games I have ever played, and believe me, you will *not* regret spending your money. Something you *must* keep in mind when purchasing this game, though: the images, sound, film, and animation were all designed in 1993, and they simply cannot be recreated. I understand that some of the sounds and imagery could be significantly improved in quality today, but I will not lower this game's rating because of that. In fact, I would be outraged if any of this game was recreated, because I am a huge Myst fan, and a 100% perfect port is what I've looked forward to. Fortunately, that is more or less what has been accomplished. I really wish I could give this 5 stars, but there are some very minor issues.

Back in the day when I was just a little gamer, Myst was the best-selling game of all time, so it’s no surprise that the iTunes adaptation adheres to the tradition of the original with a few enhancements for the iPhone/iPod Touch platform. Myst is a first-person interactive puzzle game that allows you to travel, explore and immerse yourself in a variety of detailed environments.
Cyan Worlds gives us "Myst" again, with a few improvements.

Cyan Worlds has a great track record; their Myst series is arguably the pinnacle of first-person adventure gaming. Their projects - from Myst to Riven to Uru, have all pushed videogames forward as an art form. Their blend of storytelling, immersive and beautiful worlds, great sound and puzzle design, makes Cyan's games among the best in the adventure genre.

This is a port of the original Macintosh version of the game, with the original videos, but with higher resolution pictures. It looks amazing, and it works extremely well with touch controls. Though I haven't played through the entirety of the game, yet, I haven't noticed any crashes or bugs. It is rather large, but I'd say it is very worth it.

After reading that Cyan was bringing Myst to the iPhone, I was so excited, I got all my old Myst games out from my closet and reinstalled them on my iMac (with a little help from online forums I was able to get them all running again, with the exception of Myst V). I hope Cyan can bring the other games to the iPhone/iPod Touch.

I am so happy to have this app on my iPod touch, it is beautiful and feels like home. :) For those who have played it before you know how immersive it is, being able to play wherever you are makes it even better! If you have never been to Myst it's a world you won't want to miss!
It's amazing but there are a few things...
Thesaxmaniac 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I'm not going to go into detail about the game or the mechanics. It's Myst, the game that practically invented the first-person point and click adventure. It's still fantastic to this day and it looks, sounds, and plays amazingly well on the iPhone. There are a few things that could be changed if Cyan pleases: /An option to reverse the swipe command. I like to swipe in the direction I want to turn, not the opposite . /Higher resolution text for the books. This would be difficult to do, but it would make reading them more enjoyable. /Disabling the little video loading circle altogether. There is an option to disable the info button, now if this could go away I could be completely immersed. /Last but not least, a little bit of instruction on the controls for the iPhone. They are fantastic, but things such as dragging the blue and red pages to their respective books doesn't come naturally for Myst PC vets. In that version you just touched the book and it would add the pages automatically. Other than these very minor quibbles, it's about as perfect a port as anyone could make. Thank you Cyan for keeping the franchise alive!
Incredible

Holds true to the original game. If you loved it on the pc/mac, you will love it on the iPod/iPhone. I am so glad that I have such an immersive game that I can carry wherever I go. Whenever I have time to kill, I can delve into the wonderful world of myst. Can't wait for Riven!

This release brings back fond memories of late nights huddled around the old Mac with friends trying to figure out the puzzles. I downloaded the app this morning and played a little and it still holds up after all these years. If you've never played it and you are into well thought-out puzzles/mysteries (and you have the space for it) you need to download this game!
Yes!

I've been waiting years to play this again. I don't care that it takes up 700+ MB it's awesome and just as difficult as I remember.
Hopefully this is just the beginning

Love Myst on the iPhone. The navigation is like it was originally created for the iPhone. Great marriage with hardware and software. Hopefully all the series will make it to the platform. It would be awesome if additional worlds could be purchased by .99 downloads in version 3.0 of the iPhone software.
Everything old is new again!

This may officially be the definititive version of the original Myst. The stunning prerendered visuals that made up the original game have been reproduced on the iPhone using the highest quality assets available, and as a result, the game looks even better now than it's previous iterations on Windows and Mac. The haunting sounds and music of the Myst worlds still hold their magic, and when combined with the game's visual environments, it's an iPhone game that's surprisingly easy to lose yourself in. The added ability to use gestures for moment, and being able to interact with the world using your own hands only deepens the sense of immersion.
A beautiful, faithful port of a classic!

I was so excited to hear that Cyan Worlds was planning to bring Myst to the iPhone, and after playing all morning, I am not disappointed. If you've played Myst on any other platform, this is the classic Myst that you remember, and it has held up remarkably well over the many years since its first release with its simple gameplay, mysterious atmosphere, and satisfying puzzles. The only extra that has been added to the controls is an alternate way of moving in the environment that uses swiping rather than tapping, although you can do either. The touch screen interface works remarkably well for a game like this. I can only cross my fingers and hope that Riven will come next!
Back on Myst wherever I am.
Green Dragoon 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Myst is a truly unique game that changed the way we looked at gaming. It challenged the preconceptions of what gaming is. This port continues that legacy by taking the interface to a whole new level. The controls for this game are far more intuitive than I thought it would be, and the story is every bit as immersive as I new it would be.
An amazing port!

Ok, I remember playing myst back in the day. It was as great as it is now. The music and story line is very enthralling, hours of playtime n this game. The puzzles help you grow your brain power because they challenge you to think in ways that you haven't necessarily used or don't get enough exercise doing.
So Close to Perfection; it Will Blow Your Mind
Jonathan Sayre Allen 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is a near-perfect port of the original Myst game. There are occasionally some graphical glitches when manipulating moveable objects, that is the only issue I have come across. The animations and transitions happen more smoothly on this version than the original (that the iPhone is more powerful than my 66mhz computer certainly helps!). This is an incredible job my Cyan. Please, please, please port the other games in the Myst saga.

I'm very skeptical when it comes to any type of video game. And when spending money on a game for my phone I'm extra skeptical. But let me tell you, the game eff-ing rocks!!! I do have to say I was a fan of riven (the sequel to myst) originally. I played that a long time ago when it came out. Anyway, I never had the chance to play the original and when I saw it came out for the iPhone I had to atleast try it out, and the result is me spending 10+ hours on this game today alone! It's amazing! I'm in car sales and with the economy the way it is what else do I have to do. Haha this game is awesome!!! A must buy for fans of the original myst or riven!! Or anyone who wants to waste A LOT of time on your phone! Or anyone who likes to think and solve puzzles or enjoys adventure games! This will please a huge variety of people! By far my favorite game for the iPhone!!! Hands down!!!
Thank god!

I first played Myst on my Mac Centris 650 and it was the hottest game around. Now I load it up on my vintage Mac LC 575. The iPhone version is simply amazing! Best game on the iPhone. Riven for the iPhone would be very nice. I would love it if Riven was ported over to Mac OS X.
Fantastic
Sevallis 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This was my first computer game as a kid on my dad's mac, so this purchase was a no brainer for me. The puzzles are very challenging if you have not played before and it feels as fresh as ever to play it all over again. The feeling of achievement as you unlock the secrets of the islands and the corresponding ages is definitely still there and the graphics have had a nice update. Totally playable, totally nostalgic, totally fun!
Amazing!

Myst is a game that really needs no introduction, and the iPhone port is a faithful recreation. If you're a Myst fan, it's worth getting. Period. Don't read any more reviews or think about it. Buy it.
Excellent Concept...but has flaws
Phil Hendry 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
While I applaud Cyan Worlds for successfully porting Myst to the iPhone, I must dock them some points for 1 big problem with this app. It takes up WAY too much space. If the original game fit comfortably on a PC/Mac with a several hundred MEGABYTE hard drive, how did the iPhone port balloon to over 1 GB of space. This is comparable to a full install of MS Flight Simulator. I would like to enjoy one of the highlights of my formative years in computing on my new favorite device, but this puts a serious space constraint on my 8GB iPod touch with my music collection and only a few other apps installed. Hopefully subsequent updates will shrink the game down to something more manageable, but for now it will not be making an appearance on my iPod. Recommended only for users with larger capacity devices or those with smaller music collections.
Upsetting.

I was really looking forward to playing this game, downloaded it (taking close to an hour, but thats fine), and then tried to sync it to my 1st Generation iPod Touch. I clicked "sync," and then a window popped up saying that it was not compatable with my kind of iPod. Nowhere did it say that I couldn't use it on this iPod version. I just wasted $6 on something I cannot use =(. On the bright side, it sounds like a fun game!

Well worth the money for anyone who likes solving puzzles. Only glitches I have seen are minor and do not detract from the game play.
Suprised
RIP Gilmore Girl 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I'm 13 and until I saw this in the app store I had never heard of Myst before. It looked really interesting and I wanted to buy it. After reading these reviews and the online reviews I was left with the feeling that I was the only person on earth that didn't know about Myst. This made me even more curious, so I bought it. It took six hours to download, but it was worth it. This is an amazing game. It's hard, but not to the point that I want to give up. The hint guide is amazing too. If you've never heard of Myst before, but you like PC games like nancy drew, dream chronicles, or other mystery games, you will love myst. BUY IT!

I only played the original briefly way way back when. I'm glad I bought this. Totally confusing. Environments and mood are really well done. Top notch. They need more old school adventure games like this.
