Posted 11/25/2011 at 4:30pm | by J Keirn-Swanson As always, the holidays brings out the big guns when it comes to app price cutting. This time around is no exception, with some familiar developers going crazy with the discount action. Why wait for Cyber Monday when you can get your game on right this very minute? This one is huge. A thank you to the fans who've stocked their iPads and iPhones and iPods with their games through the years, Electronic Arts has slashed prices across the board. Like what, you ask? How about Battleship for the iPad down four dollars to just $0.99. Or pick one of the Monopoly for the iPad versions, either regular down from $9.99 to $2.99 or Monopoly Here & Now with the same price drop. Scrabble for the iPad takes a similar nose dive on the price. Get it and The Game of Life ($2.99) Read More

It adds a new layer of depth to the App Store and it helps us fulfill our unending desire for achievements, no matter how ridiculous and truly worthless they may seem.  This week, we’ll be taking a look at some of the best Game Center games that have multiplayer, and enable you to rack up all of those achievement points you’ve been waiting to add to your bucket list. $3.99EurocenteriPhone Take Bomberman graphics, Bomberman game play, change absolutely nothing and what have you got? Pangea Takes The Lead In Online Gaming
Calendar16 Fri, 10 Sep 2010 15:04:04 UTC +00:00
By Chris Hall on September 10th, 2010 Pangea takes the lead with Game Center gaming. I’ll admit, even when Game Center was just a big high-score collector, like OpenFeint and Plus+ before it, I was happy. I loved that it had its own app, and that it was easy to find directly compare your stats with friends, rather than having to dig through huge lists to find them. The whole thing was great, and then I found Cro-Mag Rally and the rest of the Game Center enhanced apps from Pangea. Cro-Mag Rally Admittedly, I’d never really gotten into Cro-Mag Rally when it was first out. It was always a good game, but with so many other racing games out there, it just got swallowed up. With the 4.1 update though, the game has found a whole new life for me (until the “so many other games” swallows it up again). Instead Read More
Austin, Texas based iPhone developer Pangea Softwarehave been making video games since their inception in the late 80's. Originally targeting the Apple IIGS, Pangea has been hopping to each new Apple platform as they're released, this time tweaking their existing iPhone games to run at the native 960x640 resolution of the iPhone 4's Retina Display. As mentioned in our first impressions post on gaming with the iPhone 4, increasing the output resolution of existing games doesn't really add to gameplay at all... But it sure does look good. Noteworthy games that have been updated include: Enigmo - Starting its life as a Mac game, Enigmo is a physics puzzle game that was voted Best iPhone Game at WWDC in 2008. In the game you move various objects around the game board to direct water droplets to their destination. Levels start easy and get so hard you will be desperately searching Google Read More

Pangea Adds Location-Aware Leader Boards To Enigmo & More
Calendar16 Sat, 02 May 2009 15:02:57 UTC +00:00
Pangea Software has sold a ton of games at the App Store, but instead of letting them become boring and stale, they have decided to bring location-aware leader boards to some of their more popular games. Instead of creating their own leader board system, Pangea decided to implement Geocade’s service.  Geocade is one of the largest location-aware social gaming platforms available to iPhone developers.  The Pangea games that have received the Geocade treatment are Enigmo, Billy Frontier, Antimatter, Bugdom 2, and Otto Matic.  The Geocade system has been added to these games through their most recent free updates. This may not be the prettiest implementation of a leader board system, but it brings added value to many of Pangea’s classic games and that’s what matters.  Pangea is also having a $.99 sale on every single one of their games, including the ones that didn’t receive a Geocade update like Nanosaur 2 Read More

Quite Good, Could Be Better
applepi 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Nanosaur 2 for iPhone is exactly like Nanosaur 2 for Mac, with the exception of the control scheme. Your accelerometer-controlled dinosaur seems a bit sluggish, not turning as quickly as you would expect. All of the keyboard buttons on the original game are now on-screen buttons, a system that works quite well and almost better than the Mac version––I was pleasantly surprised. The graphics and sounds are great, and it's not too difficult.
Yet Another Great Release by Pangea Software!
Coolmatt49 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Another release from Pangea, another awesome game. In basic, your mission in this game is to fly around (using the iPhone's Accelerometer) as a Pterodactyl collecting Eggs while avoiding other dinosaurs and robots from killing you. The controls are spot on and the graphics are one of the best I've seen on the iPhone. If you're looking for a game that gives you a bang for its' buck, look no further than Nanosaur 2. I highly recommend it!
Amazing. Here's some suggestions:
diVit 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Auto-save when quitting. A must for a gaming platform ideal for playing games in 5-10 minute bursts. Plus it would make the game's crashes more of a slight inconvenience than the headache they are now. Better settings menu. For a professional developer, the settings menu for all Pangea's iPhone games looks VERY unprofessional and amateur. Keep the settings menu landscape, and give it the theme the main menu has. Do that with all your apps - not just this one. I KNOW HOW TO STOP THE GAME FROM CRASHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: Turn off wifi in settings on your iPod Touch / iPhone before launching the app. The app crashes when the native apps try and update (mail, mobileme push, etc.) Pangea, if you are reading this, all you have to to is set Nanosaur 2 to turn off wifi when it launches, and you will have no more crashes (this will solve it on an iPod Touch - for the iPhone you would have to just turn off mail and mobileme syncing temporarily because it would just use 3G to update if you turned off wifi). I suggest you do that with all your apps.
Great game BUT......
JackHyde 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Great graphics, fun flying, but why don't game designers build in easier levels for learning and for people like me who are "video game challenged". Don't you realize that you are losing a huge number of customers and probably turning them off forever!? I learned a long time ago I couldn't compete with the video wizards but I could still enjoy all your work by using cheats to play the pc games. So if you want to expand your customer base you should build in easier versions/levels. In this game you could have a level that has less trees, eggs, and dinos. The hardcore gamers can always play at "normal" or "hard" levels.
Pangea= best games for the iphone
Original-pookie 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Once again such an amazing game challenging but fun and beautiful use of the accelerometer
Hint: Use the "Neutral" button for better control, and turn left/right on game start
Allocentric 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
First off, this is a simply outstanding port of the classic "Nanosaur 2". From all perspectives, the game is no different than the version I remember playing on my old 12" Powerbook G4. Great graphics, fun gameplay, and challenging courses, enemies, and obstacles.
Pangea Raises The Bar Again
BillyB123 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Sets a new standard for 3D graphics on iPod touch/iPhone. Pangea has quickly become the powerhouse developer for the platform.
Best iPhone game so far
Austin Photog 5.0 stars Version: 1.0

Pangea Software Inc. has not let me down once. Another great title. Thanks for putting in the hard work to put out another top notch app.
WOW
Skateboard513 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Yeah..all I can say is pangea has done it again..LOL as corny as it sounds..this game is just amazing and better then the 9.99 games for only 4!!! Get it!! You got nothing to loose!
Now we are getting into the real deal gaming
VinceP 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
All I can say is BRAVO! great job. the accuracy of the accelerometer and the game is awesome. It is a blast even when you are'nt battling, and just cruising thru the trees. Great Game, I have all others by PS. But this one is tops. PG we need a all in one interface to for all of your software, help clean up the desktop face. :-) thanks for a great product!
Well constructed
solohans 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I needed another game on my iPod like I need a hole in my head, but these Pangea games are so well constructed, I couldn't help myself. This game plays out more dramatically on the mobile platform. It's more intimate too. Controls are nice too! The nanosaur moves very graceful with the accelerometer. I recommend this and all Pangea games.
Great job !
adbjmb 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Pangea has done it again and again and needless to say they have proven themselves as the best. Great graphics great gameplay and a real solid game here. Thanks Pangea Software for all of the solid games and at a reasonable price. I don't know what is in development from your company right now but might i suggest some sports titles. I know that you guys would probably knock that one out of the park as well. There is only one sports title worth while on the iphone right now and that is real soccer 09. We need baseball or football. Just a thought.
Wow
polokid1000 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
All I can say about this app is wow, a five star game with no question
Brilliant
Johannvonstranovic 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This game just feels right. The control is much better than bugdom2. As has been mentioned autosave would be nice. As is you can't really just pick up and play at any time cause you'll just have to start over if you don't clear a level. Graphics are amazing. Control is spot on (and adjustable). This is the only game I would be willing to pay over $10 for. At $4 it's a no-brainer. Add battle mode like on the mac version and I would pay even more.
Great if you have played the computer game
BJB Productions™ 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I'll try to keep this short: This is a GREAT game. Especially if you have played the computer game. This could be hard to get used to if you have never played the real game before. There are a few things that could use a little improvement, (which I'm sure Pangea will fix soon. They're are good at this stuff) One fix is maybe if you could play it in the as I call it "sicko view" meaning that you are looking through the eyes of the Nanosaur. (They have that option in the real game) also, maybe target so you can see where you are shooting better? This is worth your bucks while it's on sale, and even when it's not. But better deal while it's on sale.
Just Awesome!
ajbasel 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This game is a joy to play and to look at. It has the best graphics I've seen on the iPod touch or the iPhone, and I would consider it a must buy for the iPod, like all of the other Pangea games! The only thing that could be improved is that when you hit anything, like the ground, you instantly die, and for a beginner trying to get the power-ups, that could happen quite frequently.
Dear Pangea: A comment from a true reviewer
Smokin okin 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I looked at someones review and it was from someone that was begging you to bring the original nanosaur onto the iphone. I was thinking to myself, self: Why would pangea bring a more native game onto the iphone. But then I googled nanosaur, and saw a screenshot from the original game. And that was when it hit me. It was like I had taken a time machine back into my child hood, almost 10 years ago. I remember on my old mac, I used to play that game all the time. I realize that you wanted nanosaur 2 because it would take advantage of the iphone's accelorometer controls, but I felt that do to the main character not being a T. Rex or raptor type of dinosaur, this game never fully had gotten the kind of attention that it deserved. If you bring back the old nanosaur with regular controls, unlike bugdom 2, and finding some other way to use the accelorometer in the game, I promise you that if you make it this price, the game will be the most popular game out there. Thank you for taking the time to read this pangea.
Amazing!
JSWSN 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
If you like graphics and out of this world game play then this is the app for you. I love it, love it, love it!
Awesome
Meritamen 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Great game. Superb in every way.
Best game in the App Store
Hitz 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
By far the best game in the app store!!!!! You guys didn't take anything away from this game. It's almost exactly like the desktop version!!!
Can't be better
Reilymon 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This game is probably the best game on the iphone, and only 4 dollars? I would have paid 10
Who are these Pangea people anyway?
RightyC1 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Maybe they're from an advanced race in a distant galaxy...that's the only way to explain these games. Amazing. Seriously, though, this app is more than the graphics; flying dinosaur combat is really, really fun. The controls are very natural, although they're a little sensitive right off the bat. And the graphics are literally dizzying. Pangea only competition in the app store is themselves. This is their best so far.
Excellent!! Pangea you've done it again
Erndog1 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Great graphics, smooth for the most part..my only suggestion would be to make one's own location on the map a little easier to read, but it's not a big issue. It's just for those of us who don't have 20/20 vision. I still give it 5 stars.
Awesome
milklovin27 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This is one of the best iPhone games I have played so far. It's true, the controls take a little while to get used to, but that is part of the fun of the game. Too many other iPhone games take only a few minutes to master and have no replay value. It would be nice if there were more frequent save points, but with all the other games available that you can just pick up and play for a few minutes, it's nice to have one that will keep your attention for more than 5 minutes. All in all, great game and fun to play!
good game but too difficult for some reasons
massimo massimilliani 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
I like this kind of game but...
Confusing
Kpooky12 1.0 stars Version: 1.1
Very confusing but fun to fly around
I'm hooked
Al Mighty 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Great game at a great price. It took me a while to get used to the controls, but it's simply amazing once you get into it. Definitely worth the buy.
