Daily iPad App: Netter's Anatomy Atlas

Any medical student or professional will instantly recognize the name "Netter." Frank H. Netter was a physician and artist who drew over 500 plates, or individual medical illustrations, covering virtually every aspect of human anatomy. Netter's Atlas of Human Anatomy, the book, is a classic in the field of medical reference. It outshines Grey's Anatomy, not only in its depth and accuracy, but also because of the detail of the images (not to mention, they're in color). If you're a medical student, Netter's is a must. However, the biggest problem with Netter's Atlas of Human Anatomy, as with most medical reference books, is medical students might break their backs carrying the book around. It's a tome that weights close to ten pounds. The extra weight has now been alleviated however, thanks to Elsevier Health Sciences finally bringing Netter's Anatomy to the iPad. Classic Netter

Picture/plates are of good quality.Unfortunately, not all organ/systems are represented (no brachial plexus!).. for the price paid, I expect the complete Netter text which this is not. For cash-strapped med students and physicians, for 90 bucks buy the Netter textbook and not this version.
Beautiful

I'm not sure what the previous reviewer was referring to. I did a quick search for "brachial plexus" and got the great Netter's slides I expected (slides 417 and 418 to be exact). I haven't used all the features extensively yet but so far it's worth the $$$ spent to me. The video in the description is spot on! It's becoming absurd to me to have to carry a textbook anymore.
Netter on the iPad

I have been waiting for this since the iPad came out. It's a shame that it took this long, but this app makes it worth the wait. Great app!
Amazing!
Health student 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app is EXTREMELY useful as a study tool or clinical reference. For the same price, the iPad app is much easier to navigate and gives you a multitude of different options to make your study time more productive. The ability to search for specific structures is a key feature (no more flipping from page to page searching for that one structure). Also, I like the ability to turn labels on and off (saves students from highlighting and annotating). Last, but definitely not least, are the quizzes to ensure that students have their structures down before walking into a test. A couple things that I would like to see with an update:1. I wish the program would save the structures that I turn off so that if I close the app and open it again, they won't reappear. 2. I wish that I could add custom structure tags and change the labels of existing tags.Otherwise, this is an awesome app that saves you time and space!
Very nice

I really like this app. It is better than the actual atlas on paper because obviously you can interact with it by removing labels, take quizzes, search terms or structures, etc. Only 4 stars because there is room for improvement. I would like if the user could finger swipe to go to the next plate instead of have to push the arrows (minor complaint...but still would be nice). I like the quiz feature, but I wish the app could use other quiz methods or styles or something more to aid memorization. Overall though, very good app, much preferred over the paper atlas.
Book+
Joseph Clere 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app has every plate and label that is in the 5th edition of the book. What makes it better: you can zoom in on detailed areas; you can quiz yourself with the pictures or with the structure names; you can search by system, region, or structure name. These features are extraordinarily helpful to me. This is a great modification of an originally fantastic education tool. It is better for those wanting to know advanced anatomy, but would be good for beginners too if they can deal with the huge amount of detail included.
Great app

The app makes searching for terms 10 times faster then using the textbook. Great app, highly recommend it.
