Works great!
Zombiebot 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I've been waiting for this app. Can't wait for NFT Brooklyn.
It's about time!
with 6 you get eggroll 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Thank God I have something else now besides crappy Yelp and GoogleMaps to use for the city. When are Brooklyn and Los Angeles coming out?!?!?!
NFT is the Absolute BEST!
Regis! 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I had always been a monster fan of the NFT books for NYC and Brooklyn, that I had to buy this app. With all of the info on stores and restaurants, it has been a resource for everyone I have ever showed it to. I'm also a bit of a map freak and the detail helps so much!
Looking forward to the Phildelphia version
BlueRIF 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Okay, I don't live in New York and wouldn't know my way around if I went there. I just wanted to check out the application because I am was very excited about it. Love the pocket guides and I'm looking forward to the Philly version - hopefully soon. On a quick browse of the app - it looks good and words great. It's well put together and seems to pack a lot of good info. Again, looking forward to the Philadelphia version.
What I've been waiting for
Notforpaper.com 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
A solid app from NFT and exactly what I've been waiting for. I've been a fan of the books for some time and this is the perfect compliment to my iPhone.
This app rocks!
Judytexas 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
So awesome! Love it; love it. Even handier than hard copy and so far above other finder apps it renders them useless. Can't wait for Brooklyn. This is a winner that I didn't mind paying for even tho I'm the queen of free apps. Congrats NFT; you've done it again.
Disappointing, Less Content Than The Printed Version. .
Plimpton777 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
First, let me say that I was greatly anticipating and was never more excited for an iPhone app. In fact, when the first iPod with iphoto came out, I downloaded PDF files of the NFT onto it. So you can imagine my giddiness upon hearing the news of NFTs inevitable arrival on the iPhone. It looks like my optimism was premature. This app version seems rushed, is incomplete, reviews are short sentences where a paragraph would be welcome, and most annoying and disappointing of all, important data that was included in the printed version is sorely lacking (including map info of boundaries of the outer boroughs, most notably Williamsburgh, Brooklyn, where I live, which is arguably more relevant to Manhattan than, say, Inwood). Also missing here are the extensive pages of fascinating reference, including park information and history, extensive landmark descriptions, and sporting venue seating charts. These are the kinds of charming details that had me so in love with the printed NFT since 2004, and had me so excited for the iPhone app; without it, this app is merely a shadow of its potential, and I cannot in good conscience recommend that anyone pay $4.99 for it. It's barely worth $1.99 as it is. Instead, I'll continue to refer to the NFT 2009 printed version. And the iTransit app does for me what NFT did back in 2004; helps me navigate the subways without asking for directions. The failure here is by trying to streamline their well-researched content to make it more user-friendly, they trimmed muscle as well as fat as they sacrificed it's greatest strength; content. Now its barely distunguishable from other crappy NYC "hip" guide-book apps. Add more content, making it mirror the printed version, and I'll change my rating. Until then, I highly recommend AGAINST buying this app.
Gorgeous App, Great Price
I Heart NFT 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I'm a long time New Yorker and I've been a massive NFT fan for years. And with the rise of the iPhone, I've been waiting to see what kind of app those creative kids at NFT would come up with. They did not let me down. The NFT app is super cool--sleek design, useful listings and maps (not the standard Google ones), and really fast. And they cover ALL of Manhattan from tip to tip, not just the hip and trendy neighborhoods. So far I've found some really great coffee shops and interesting restaurants that I haven't found anywhere else. This app totally rocks. Thanks NFT. Can't wait to see what you come up with next...
Great app!
pixelchick24 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I am a fan of the NFT books, so it was great to see them release an app version. I love it! It's really easy to navigate, and I like that it uses the GPS to find your location but also allows you to browse all areas no problem. I had a friend come into town, and used this app to find a place to meet at in an area I don't usually frequent. (My friend never knew - I just got to look cool by tossing out a rec off-the-cuff like.) I trust the reviews - being NFT and all - but I also like that I have the option to visit a venue's website, and that I can fwd a listing via email. The descriptions are fun. I can browse through quickly, find interesting stuff, and move on. I've only been in Manhattan about 6 months, so this is fantastic. Good maps, too. Yay! I agree with some of the other reviews -- more cities, please! Looking forward to them.
Apps on a plane!
Another nickname that is not taken 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I just bought this for my trip to NY. It was about the only application that worked while on the plane. I was able to find a few places to visit and found a restaurant near the convention. I can't wait for more cities to be available.
Essential
E's mom in Bklyn 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
As a TX ex pat living in Brooklyn there is no greater resource for living in the NYC area. This app enhances that tool allowing portablilty of the guide, and avoiding looking like a tourist with your map out. I understand that it's not complete ( no Brooklyn listings) but I can only assume the awesome staff will update the app as soon as possible. Love u NFT!!!
Just try to keep the tourists hands off it!
ARHB 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I was sceptical after reading some average reviews, but this app is a truly beautiful thing. It is now on my home screen and I know I will use it everyday. Sure, quantity has been sacrificed to quality, but this app (and NFT, for that matter) would never work if it tried to include everything. It is 95% iPod touch friendly, whereby the only thing you miss is the map walking directions, but hey, not like you're a tourist - look at the map and address and you'll be fine. Only thing that might be helpful is an all neighborhood all catergory search. Apart from that it's brilliant and I am very glad I bought it. Way to go NFT!
Woow

Well Done!!!
sinisterhanded 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I love the NFT Guidebooks. They have saved my butt numerous times in New York. Thankfully, this app has done the same. I’ve used it for over a week now, and I’ve been able to navigate Manhattan with ease. I was excited about this app, but a little hesitant after reading some of the negative reviews. Let me just say that the negative reviews are a way of base. NFT has come up with a totally unique way to put their geo-located content at your fingertips without having to flip back and forth between pages of the book. For only $4.99 you get an amazing list of essential Manhattan businesses and places from bookstores (yup, there in there under Shopping) to Landmarks (my favorite category because no one else has that) to Bike Shops (handy when I get a flat). It’s all beautifully done in the NFT style and the snarky comments is what makes the content so entertaining and different from anything else out there. I highly recommend buying this app and can’t wait for future cities.
Excellent app
ikayani 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0

Simple, clear, a little quirky, and highly useful. I wish all iphone apps were this good.
Simply Amazing
Seanski 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I have been a fan of the book for quite some time, and this lives up to my expectations. I agree that there's not as much content as the book, but this is still a fairly new app, so it will only get better. As a new New Yorker, this is the perfect way to find the best coffee, food, and shopping in NYC.
Perfect
Vumaelia 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1

blauhaus 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I use this app when I'm in Manhattan visiting family. It's easy to use and it has a lot of options: places to go, where to eat. Perfect if you're on the go.
Great fun, totally worth the price!
BECKY BEX 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I just spent 3 weeks in Manhattan and even though I was a tourist I didn't look like one! Having my guide book on my iPhone was so wonderful!! I had loads of fun following the books random suggestions!! I found different things to do....in short I loved it! Buy it, it's great!!
Looks useful but maps are mediocre
jflamm 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
Revised October 14.
Great app!
Detroit Soul 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
One improvement that would make it even better - option to display bookmarks at the current location, with multiple selectable category filters (e.g. display only restaurants & cafes, etc.)
Prefer the Paper Guide
directcurrents 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.9
I love the NFT-NYC guide books, best guide books on the planet. I thought the app would be just as good. Sadly, it's not... Thanks for adding Brooklyn, though it would help out if the Manhattan & Brooklyn neighborhoods were separate instead of mashed together into one list; it can be a bit confusing... Still waiting for Queens, Bronx, & Staten Island...
