As a system admin I require a number of apps to replace iPhone's missing command-line functionality and to forget about jailbreaks. I've found ssh/vnc clients, etc., but only today my quest was accomplished. NiceTrace does... tracing and even more. It permanently questions all nodes on the pass and gives you updates real-time. Not only it has some nice features, I also find it's interface brilliantly simple and intuitively appleish. Worth every penny.

For a long time I was looking for a traceroute application for my phone. However ones that were available before didn't have such cute implementation. I was really pleased by this fun one. It's a bit more than traceroute - to be honest it is MTR (unix admins should know). Another bautiful icon on my home screen :)

A simple but funny, glamourous, glossy, shiny and graphically polished traceroute with cute icon - exactly the way how it should be done for iPhone. What is interesting about it - it probably uses a bit different approach to tracing then common traceroute - my ISP blocks common traceroute on its border routers so I'm only able to trace the path up to them with common traceroutes. I don't know how this app makes it but it overcomes my ISP by showing a full path to the destination. Please add a WHOIS feature.

One more beautiful icon is added to my iPhone homescreen. The utility works perfectly. I've been awaiting for a tool like that for quite a while. One more good admin utility added to my collection :)

To be honest for quite a long time I was looking for a good traceroute tool for the iPhone. With Nice Trace you will get more than that - an mtr alike traceroute that works in a really fun way :) Country detection feature is good. Please, add WHOIS!

Another example of what an iPhone app should be. Clean and neat interface, small footprint and just the right amount of functionality. Great job. I especially like the automatic country of origin capability.

Liked the app from the the very beginning and with this update (added whois) it has became more solid and better tool. The as numbers is a good and useful feature also - spots which addresses belong to same ISP. Wish I had such a tool for my desktop :)

Your apps are all extremely useful to me as a network admin. Keep making great software!

Great app. Just what the doctor ordered, and best traceroute I've seen. The only small critisism is that it could have more contrast between the background and the text (e.g. green on black rather than green on dark green). I'm looking forward to more apps from this dev - and yes, I have bought his other app (Net Status) - it's also excellent!

I really like this app. It not only does the job but does it with the kind of polished UI I've come to enjoy in good iPhone apps. Most recommended.

Does exactly what it says flawlessly. Extremely easy to use.

This is simply the best traceroute implementation I've ever seen. Perhaps I've just become to used to running traceroute from the command line, but the live updating is a great way to spot bottlenecks.
