Nimbuzz keeps getting better with the day. Their latest new feature allows for video calling between iPhone and PC users! Those of you with the iPhone will be able to take advantage of this capability both when using a cellular and Wi-Fi connection, which is cool. If, for some reason, your carrier blocks VoIP services on its network (bastards), there’s always video chat that allows you to see the person on the other end of the line and chat with him/her. In addition, existing Nimbuzz features, including VoIP calls and multi-network IM chat remain on place. Finally, the blog post ends with a promise to bring this capability to other platforms such as Symbian and Android. No word about the BlackBerry version, though. Applications like Opera Mini, Layar and Lookout topped GetJar’s first annual Gettie Awards. Team IntoMobile was there last night and it was quite an interesting experience. I’ll get to the winners first, as GetJar was seeking the best Java, Symbian, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, iPhone and Android apps. The winners received some monetary reward (I don’t think it was straight fat stacks of cash but some sort of developer compensation) and the acclaim of the mobile world. The Java app winner was WaveSecure Backup, Nimbuzz nabbed the Symbian award and Opera Mini grabbed the top spot for Windows Mobile. According to Neowin's sources, Windows Live Messenger for iPhone will officially be previewed by Microsoft later today, but will not ship its public beta until June, with a limited private beta expected in May. Features gleaned from the screen shots include photo sharing, chat and a social stream for users. Of course, MSN Messenger has been supported on the iPhone since the unveiling of the app store via thrid party apps. In my opinion is better than Fring. You can distinguish between contacts from skype and messenger or any other chat while fring give you the whole list. Calls made from my wireless phone using the skype account is very clear and in real time. Great App. ATT doesn't allow cust to use the 3G network to make calls using this application without being connected to a WIFI network.
