Popular calling and messaging app Nimbuzz has been updated overnight, with the latest Android version including two very useful new features – push notifications and message delivery confirmations. The latest update to Nimbuzz has finally hit the Android Market and aside from the usual "bug fixes" included with the release, Nimbuzz has added some great new features that have been long requested. Out of that list the HD calling is the hugest portion of the update. According to Nimbuzz, now when you use the application for your calls you should get the most optimal call quality available to you. This is achieved by auto adapting your calls based on your coverage available as well as using a peer to peer connection which routes the calls device to device rather then actually going through Nimbuzz servers to connect. There’s been quite a bit of communication news from Android at CES, and Nimbuzz is a contributor to that gathering storm. Nimbuzz is a calling and chat application that lets users place calls or chat with friends for free. Facebook, MySpace, Skype, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AIM, Google Talk and more are supported by this app. It has functioning for VoIP calling and surprisingly includes that ability to transfer files between users. crushed hopes I got a Samsung SCH-I100 Gem app installed fine. went to website bought $10 credit . First I called my home # rang fine then called my wife in Europe it rang and rang I let it ring for 2 min no answer. Closed app (signed off) went to the web checked balance it charged me just for ringing not actually connecting me.tried another # same just ringing. tried again her mobile also just ringing. waited a few min tried again it just said connecting not even ringing this time, waited to connect it didn't. Charged.

I installed this on my Optimus One, the VOIP was easy to set up and sound quality was good, no echo when used with my Localphone account. It used UPNP to tunnel through my NAT Router, I'll report back how it works in the wild later. If you have a single SIP account this may be the best app for you. If you need to set up multiple SIP accounts, Bria is probably better suited for you. Like most of the Android chat clients NimBuzz was unable to connect to Yahoo Messenger. It worked with Gmail and MSN okay, and it imported my Facebook contact list. I could send messages to them fine but they have been unable to reply, at least, not in the hour I've been waiting, so "Instant" messaging is definitely out of the picture.

Always love Nimbuzz and the android version works well. Can import all your other IM chat accounts, including facebook, msn, yahoo, etc. Can also make free calls to them and can also use SIP feature to make cheap SIP calls to ordinary numbers. Apparently call quality over voip to other Nimbuzz users is now in HD. Just awaiting them to add free video calling to complete the package. Still don't understand why the 'appearing offline' option is still not available on any Android version in chat?

Ok ..here's the deal ... if you want this for messaging ..dont bother coz its not that good and sometimes sent messages don't reach the other person ... trust me that causes arguments ..lol .however ... I phone the U.S from the UK every single day for hour after hour and it don't cost a dime .. I use it over my home WiFi... you get the odd dropped call and that's it ... calls are crystal clear too ... awesome and its free ... way better than Skype and viber

For those who are having problems connecting, is because some of the networks stops routing they services to nimbuzz.. if ya all havent notice, try opening a new connection and you will see some of the networks are gone.. is sad cuz i LOVE nimbuzz.. i had everything there.. even my google voice. it all started with skype stop routing via nimbuzz.. the other problem i wasnt happy with is the fact tha users are only able to create one account of each service. i have like 2 msn, 3 gmail plus anything else. i got a bunch of friends and family members to use the mobile/web/desktop version and now is a letDown. what does it take to get it all back???
