I didn't thoroughly read the description, and so I didn't notice that it's not 1st gen Touch compatible, which is just silly, as the full app /is/. If Namco was trying to get folks to buy the full app by using this is a preview, they have thoroughly missed the mark there.

Nice try Namco, release a free version for a game that ain't worth the asking price anyway, $9, $7 to much for a game concieved 20 years ago, developers who made Trism and Fieldrunner priced their games perfectly, why, they ain't greedy, they understand the mind-set of iPhone users, who are getting very tired of the greed surrounding these companies, Apple included! The bottom line is, Namco, EA, Apple et-al are not making Apps to keep the end users happy and interested in their products, they make them to keep their shareholders happy, while this has helped Apple is the past, as they increase there user base and it moves away from their usual fanboy market into the wider population these pricing policies will back fire and big companies will have wished that they charged $4 for their apps, selling hundreds or thousands more copies making more money! As for this app not working on 1st gen iPod touches, that's because Apple want you to buy the new ones, if they could get iPhone users out of their contracts it wouldn't work on 1st gen iPhones either! As for the game it's self, it's PAC-MAN, nothings changed, play the demo every now and then and save your $8!

For 2nd Gen iPod Touch users and iPhone users like myself this game is great. It has the pac-man graphics we all know and love and the sounds sound really good. The controls could use a little work but for a free version of pac-man this game is a blast. Download now!

for those of you who have a 1st gen itouch and are complaining how its 2 gen compatibly only, guess what, its not! if you are a 1st gen itouch user, all you have to do is purchase this game again, select ok, and sync to your ipod. i downloaded this game as soon as it came out and i noticed i couldn't play it, i was very upset. But i suppose that namco updated pac-man lite without telling us. PAC-MAN LITE IS 1ST GEN ITOUCH COMPATIBLE. just re-download the game and it should work. worked for me!

I cant understand why this game is only for 2gen ipods. I really wanted this game , but i refuse to pay 8 bucks for the ''complete game'' so i thought getting this lite version would be just great but soon i realized that it is not compatible with my ipod so.....tell me namco is this a trick for us to change our ''old'' ipods or iphones? be sure i will not!

Why are you not letting 1st Generation iPod touch users download this application? I hope this was just a bug in the review process that will be fixed soon. If I could download this Lite app, I would consider purchasing the full app, as would many other 1st Gen iPod touch users.

It seems a bit odd not to make something for the first gen. I doubt that many people have the 2nd gen already. What's the rationale?

I am pretty sure it is a fun game (I love those Pac Man classics) but there is no reason for it not to run on the 1st Generation iPod Touch! It is not an outdated device! I would understand it if it was 3 years old! But this is just ridiculous!!

As an owner of the full version on my 1st gen iPod Touch, I was curious when I saw complaints from others that the demo doesn't work for 1st gen users. So I downloaded it and sure enough it doesn't work! Mr. Jobs, I find this a bit worrying. I've been looking forward to Need For Speed on my Touch for a couple of months now, but do I have to worry it may be incompatable? You bet! The thing is this demo was made incompatable for no reason at all other than for the purpose of making 1st gen Touch owners have to buy 2nd gen Touches. I hope this was a mistake and this trend does not continue.

This is a good game if u use the swipe mode. But I still not going to by the full game cause it cost $8. That is just too much money for a mobile game that been on every phone and video game system out to date and still nothing change. And how come eveybody think that it's ok to charge $10 for a game I think I'll pass til u drop the price to $5 or less or bundle both pac-man and mrs pac-man. $5 is the most I'll spend for a good iPhone game even some of the top 10 iphone game started out at $10 and went down to $5 or less. Lower the price get more sales!!! Just look at the iPhone top app to see their sale boost most of those apps use to be $10 now their on sale for $2.
