I actually love this app and think it is a great improvement over the regular version. I have also tried the other packing app out there and have gone back to this one. Also, updates are frequent and it just keeps getting better and better. I have no doubt that this app will continue to make me happy in the future.

Wow. This app is one of the worst. It totally deceives you and do not buy it unless you want to waste your time and fou bucks!

I've had the free ap forever because I love making lists, plus I'm so bad a forgetting things on trips. Only I find it useless since I can't organize a packing trip per person. I can't just say 10 shirts, I need to know there are 3 shirts for me and 7 for my son, etc. I purchased the 4 buck one becausr i didn't read the ad well enough, I thought it said something about every member of the family. I don't really see a difference in the paid version vs the free one. I know I could make two lists, one for me and one for my son. But that isn't what I bought the 4 dollar version for. Until I can do that in one list, I can't even use. And can't give it a higher rating.

I've been using Packing, and loving it, for about a month and a half. I decided to try Packing Pro, and it is even better. Both programs work by allowing you to create packing lists for an upcoming trip, or as a general list to use over and over. There are templates, or you can start from scratch and add items from a catalog that you navigate by category. In Packing Pro, the layout can be customized to simplify your list, or make it a tracker for every item and quantity of every item. The Pro version adds a packing list wizard (my words, the app calls it the Expert) which generates a starting list based on the number of adult males and females, number of children, and length of trip. You can also make travel-prep lists (my words again) so you remember to get a pet-sitter or stop you mail, etc, before your trip comes up. Also, I've made recommendations to the developer, and she emailed a reply and added my recommendation. Recommended highly, worth every cent!

awesome app! it keeps getting better with the updates. quinn is extremely receptive to suggestions and very quick to respond. i highly recommend it for anyone who travels.

My first international trip was a few weeks ago and this app made organizing everything a breeze. Questions are answered by Quinn almost immediately. Everything worked like a charm. WELL WORTH THE PRICE!!!!

I use this tool for camping trips to calculate weight and also to avoid be out in the woods when I discover that I forgot something (say a sleeping pad or powdered coffee). Great tool, very flexible, and the developer replies to questions. My only suggestions for enhancements would be more decimals for weight and the ability to enter and track weight using both lbs and ounces.

excellent application. I used to carry a paper checklist around before I traveled. Now I have everything in my iphone. Once you get familiar with the format, it's unbeatable. Also Quinn was very responsive to my email suggestions.

I have equipment that I load up every weekend, and every once in a while, I will forget something. So I decided to get Packing Pro to create a complete list of everything I should pack for the basic job. After those items I added the secondary set of equipment. In other words, I listed everything I would need to pack, from basic to "fullest" job needs.

I bought this app because the description indicated there were lists for packing for cooking, sporting, baby... no baby list. It was the only reason I bought it. I feel terribly cheated.

The concept is great and it does help remind you of the littlest things we normally forget... But... It would be nice if the creators could do something about the color setting. Instead of just changing the color as a default, to be able to save different color schemes for each trip and/or each list created.

I'm getting the iPhone 3g S, and was really sad that I was going to lose all my packing lists. But the new update has let me save my lists to be transfered over to the new phone with no problems. My wife and I are moving accross country and this app has been a huge help with packing. My only critique would be a select all for adding items to a list. When you make you own lists, you must create them one by one and then add them one by one. ( if there is a way around this then please excuse this comment ) Over all I love the app, and look forward to the updates!

Update: I have solved one of my frustrations and thought others might like to know: I wanted a sublist for each person's clothes, not just one big clothes list. Well I just figured out you can import and export within the app. So export the main clothes list, then turn right around and import it and name it mom's clothes, dad's clothes, girl's clothes, boy's clothes, or use names or whatever. You can do this with diddy bag items, to do lists, any catagory catalog. So it can all be individual by suitcase or person or whichever naming convention works for you and your family or traveling group.

Initially, I thought the same thing you are thinking: "Why do I need a packing app?" Then I thought about all those times I have left for a trip thinking "I feel like I am forgetting something" and inevitably I did indeed forget something almost every single trip. Let's face it, when you are packing for a trip, your brain is firing on all cylinders trying to calculate quantities, types, and varieties of items needed. Packing Pro saves me money by keeping me from having to purchase the item I forgot and it saves me stress (and keeps the peace with my wife when we are both packing at the same time) by taking away most of the brain work involved with packing.

I recently upgraded to the Pro version of this App, and could not be happier. The ability to copy lists, categories and whole catalogs between apps (i.e. Packing to Packing Pro) and between devices (i.e. iPod Touch to iPhone, iPhone to iPhone to iPhone, etc) substantially adds to the value of the App. It is an indispensable tool for travel and ensures that nothing gets left behind. Unequivocally worth the price of admission. Highly recommended.

When traveling I have always had a piece of paper to remind me of everything I needed to take. This worked great until I needed to add something, and my list was either in the hotel or in my suitcase and not available. Now with Packing Pro on my iPhone I can write it down immediately. Great App and UI, fun to use.

This is simply one of the most useful apps I've ever had. And with new sync features got even better. The only thing it needs now is a desktop client to crate lists on PC or MAC. Thanks to developer.

This ap is missing some intuitive gestures making it too time consuming to use. By the time my lists are entered we could be home from our trip already. Does not take into cosiderstion the different needs of family members like a baby verses a kid. I think this ap is well intentioned but really not helpful.

I really want to love this app. I was excited to download and start using it but it's pretty hard to figure out. I'd almost given up on it when I kind of stumbled onto a way to make it work, but I'm still not sure I'm doing it right. If the developer included some directions for proper usage it would be a 5 star app because it does a great job of managing lists once you understand how to build them.

I've used this program in an earlier version as well as this one. Reviewers who state that it takes some time to get your lists in here are correct--but I'm here to tell you that the time spent is worth it since each subsequent use becomes easier and easier. Eventually, you have all *your* information in there and it's a snap to get ready for a trip because your template items are personalized for you and ready to go; just adjust for the specific needs for the newest trip. The list of suggested items is exceptionally thorough, and it's easy to customize. If you want to shorten the list of "suggestions," they're easy to remove.

This applic. is a waste of $$$$$, you could do the same with the free version, what a dissapointment!

I guess I read into this too much. I assumed based on the time of year and place you were traveling the "expert list" would provide a list of items that were seasonally appropriate - the items in the list were too vague for me. There are a lot of unnecessary items on the "expert" and "light" packing lists. Lastly, I think it would be more helpful to categorize the clothes selections based on type of activity rather than type of clothing. For example, create: "workout", "night life" and "sightseeing" categories with types of clothing appropriate for the activity.

This is the most aggrivating ap I have ever downloaded. It is not nowhere near as helpful or well put together as it claims to be. I wish I could get my money back.

This app came just in time. I am traveling to Europe next week and I have been loading this app with all my information. It is very helpful for a frequent traveler.

I have found this app to be very helpful for my frequent travels. I find invaluable the ability to make custom items that wpuld not appear on any conventional list, and to have multiple lists for different travel scenarios (in my case as pilot versus passeger on commercial). MAJOR praise for the constant efforts to improve the product (upgrades seem to come every couple of weeks, complete with an explanation of what was improved [thank you!!!]).
