Something interesting is going on in the Android Market this morning. A bunch of our favorite apps are suddenly going for a dime, with no real rhyme or reason for the discount. @dirkyd3rlc and @Pat_Huey on Twitter alerted us to SwiftKey and Minecraft on sale for 10 cents, and we've found others. (Update: And in the UK, the apps are going for 10p each, not 6p, which would be converted from 10 cents U.S. We definitely smell a trend here.) Here's the list as it stands. There may be others. When it comes to camera apps, it has been a while since I've really been wowed by anything I've seen. Most offer the same features - saturation, color effects, maybe some sort of Polaroid replica... you get the idea. I guess the dev team at JFDP Labs felt the same way, because they have put together the most impressive camera app that I've ever seen, simply called Paper Camera. I had to throw this in, because I really like that tiny... paper camera. What is not immediately apparent is that you can also apply these effects on pictures already on you device. Only thing which is dubious is why it would require an internet connection, but apart from that its fun.

When trying to take photos on my LG Optimus 3D, its extremely laggy!!! It freezes when I tried to change from one effect to another! I had to restart my phone every time it freeze! (I hope there is a way to fixed it) I gave 2 stars because the option for using photos from gallery works well...

Bleaching, Pastel Perfect, Sketch Up and Gotham Nor work the most spectacularly. The Neon effect one has great potential but the pic that gets processed goes far too dark for some reason, even though when looking through the viewfinder on Neon it looks great (before you take the photo). Also, all these effects work a lot better in light conditions. A video option for pastel perfect and bleaching would be AMAZING. Pleaseeeeee.

Once installed it turns nfc on. Regardless of your phone settings. Even if you uninstall this garbage app your phone keeps nfc on. Even if you kill it it comes on seconds later. Thanks dev, you sack of sh*t, you ruined my phones security. Why the f*ck do the stinking devs need the bloody permissions they ask for? Its one thing when its a free app, you just uninstall. But when you've payed and they change it, it shouldn't be allowed.

The new video capabilities are what I've been waiting for. Very cool! One concern: on my Nexus S the camera / video switch is tiny and located close to the edge. I love this app. I call it my "Richard Linklater" camera because it takes shots like some of his films (rotoscope). Taking video works fine with my HTC Sensation (v.2.3.something). I tried to play it back with the phone, but it didn't recognize the extension. It worked on my PC fine though. Thanks to the creators for adding video. What fun!

I was skeptical about this program, even on sale. But after trying it out for a bit, I was amazed. The filters look professional, and there's quite a lot of them to try. Great for people who like having fun while taking photos. If you rather took an old grainy camera with you going out then a 2 pound heavy SLR, you'll love it.

Works great on Galaxy S2 Skyrocket and Transformer Prime. Comic Boom is my favorite! :) Note to "Sharon" - you can add effects to any photo you've already taken just by tapping on the icon just to the left of the camera icon (it looks like a green box with green lines). You can also hit the menu button for more options (flash, share, etc.)

Very cool idea, I especially like the sketch style. Works best when there's plenty of light and contrast in the photo. It's a plus that you can apply it to photos already taken. It was buggy on my Droid 4, but I contacted the developers and they were extremely helpful and the problem is now fixed. :)

This app is really cool and it does what it says. I was hoping for the video to work on my phone, but the android version isnt up to par yet. Only thing I wish it did was have the option to take a picture by tapping the screen anywhere or by clicking the volume button or something. I tend to miss the shutter button when taking a "me and someone else" shot. But if you are looking for a app that makes camera effects I would recommend this for sure.

Isn't tablet optimised in terms of its graphics or user interface, a Dan as a consequence the UI looks pretty ugly. However, I just love the effects so I can't really complain to much. The effects are much better than other apps like Art Camera as far as I'm concerned.

This one allows you to see everything you aim your phone at as art. You can switch between different styles. Then when you see something you want to keep hit the button to save that image. Even if your not taking pictures it's fun to see your everyday world as a cartoon or sketch. If you aim it at your friends while they're doing something they become a live animation movie. Too bad you can't save video clips like this instead of just capturing still shots.

I want to publicly thank the developers of this awesome app. My phone (Droidx) was not in the "works with video" category and would usually just crash. If it did record, the video was gobbly-goop. I turned in a crash report with a detailed explanation of what I was doing and what exactly happened and the very next update, the video works. It's slow, but it works! I bought this app because it was the only one i could find that applied the effect in the preview. However, when you snap the photo what you end up with is very different from the preview. This makes the preview pointless. It also makes the contrast, brightness, and line settings pointless. It also makes the only thing that set this app apart pointless. There are other apps that do exactly the same thing with 5x the number of effects for free. I feel scammed!!!

Screw off with your useless Facebook and twitter integration.i don't use it this app does not need internet usage(Facebook/twitter app should have share functionality if not to bad not your job to fix their mistakes). If people want to share their pictures learn how to do it yourself. And shame on your money grabbing in app purchase just plain pathetic! This is such a great app, which has some amazing filters that make it fun and interesting to take photos of even boring things. I only wish it would automatically rotate and adjust to taking photos with the phone vertically.

Great fun! Like the new controls, especially the improved dot controls for the half tone effect. Would love to have the possibility to export my pics in higher resolution. Use the video effects on existing videos would be nice too. Keep up the good work folks!

Facebook and twitter integration are useless. I don't use it this app does not need internet usage(Facebook/twitter app should have share functionality if not to bad not your job to fix their mistakes. makes for bloated apps!). Other than that, this app is fun and easy to use.my phone doesn't have official support but thank you for adding experimental/non supported video for it (it works well some frame rate issues to be expected of course but turns out nicely )

Without doubt the best paid for app I've installed to date. Samsung S2 transferred to my laptop and printed on nice matt photo paper produces pencil sketches it's almost impossible to detect from the real thing. Well done developers you are to be congratulated
