'Spoing' Review – Deep, Dark, Endless Caves
Calendar16 Wed, 18 May 2011 14:59:04 UTC +00:00
You might just lose yourself in the caverns of Spoing [99¢ / HD] Chillingo's newest platformer is a moody affair that sees you playing the titular Spoing, a spiky ball with a lot on his mind. Someone's stolen all the rainbow diamonds on his watch, and he needs to gather them up and find the thief. To solve this mystery, Spoing travels through long, dark caverns and seeks out friends to guide him. He travels by bouncing from one elastic platform to the next, with your help to aim him (similar to the mechanic in Parachute Ninja [99¢], among others). You can also collect green gems that let you create your own platforms. Sometimes the path will be laid out for you, other times you'll be forging your own way through the caverns. Occasionally you'll need to choose the best path from a few different options. You'll need to choose wisely, Read More

The 30 Best iPhone Apps So Far This Year
Calendar16 Sat, 07 Aug 2010 18:12:54 UTC +00:00
Editor’s note: This guest post is written by Alex Ahlund, the former CEO and founder of AppVee and AndroidApps, which were acquired by mobile application directory Appolicious. About this time last year, he gave us his picks of the best iPhone apps of 2009 up until then, so we thought we’d make it an annual tradition. I’ve been involved in the iPhone app industry since it first began in 2008 and I have to say that it has come a long way. I’ve seen it grow from a meager launch of 500 applications in the App Store to currently over 225,000. In only two years, the industry has matured at hyperspeed. It spawned an entire ecosystem to support it from a multitude of news and editorial resources to developer engines, promotional services and ancillary niches. With over five billion app downloads and a billion dollars at stake, it’s no surprise that Read More

iPhone 4 Game Sale Extravaganza
Calendar16 Wed, 23 Jun 2010 16:52:06 UTC +00:00
Following EA's lead of their massive 99¢ sale, quite a few other developers are slashing prices in hopes of being on the charts for the influx of new iPhone 4 owners powering up their devices for the first time today or tomorrow and checking out this "App Store" they've heard so much about. We're going to be putting together another "So you just got an iPhone..." post similar to the one we did last year for the launch of the 3GS, but in the meantime you might not want to miss some of these sales as there's no telling how long they will last: Of course there are always tons of sales taking place on the App Store, this is just a short listing of popular games with price drops. Head on over to AppShopper to see a list of popular games and all games with recent price drops. Quote: Originally Read More

App Store-Spiele wie Flick Fishing (0.79 €; App Store-Link), Days of Thunder (2.39 €; App Store-Link), Parachute Ninja (0.79 €; App Store-Link) oder Read More
Parachute Ninja
Calendar16 Mon, 22 Feb 2010 03:20:26 UTC +00:00
Freeverse has created many successful, high quality games for the iPhone and iPod Touch and Parachute Ninja is no exception. It’s a fun and addicting platformer that puts you in control of a small, round ninja with some limited capabilities. Your ninja has no arms or legs, so to get him to travel throughout the levels you’ll need to pull on the elastic strings in order to fling him into the air. There are a ton of obstacles you’ll need to navigate around in order to complete each level, and believe it or not, there is actually a solid story to follow as you play. It really seems like a silly concept; a little ball that looks like a ninja with no arms or legs. But, the game is actually quite fun to play. The only way to move your ninja around is to launch him into the air by pulling Read More
Notable Game Updates – February 7-February 13
Calendar16 Sat, 13 Feb 2010 23:24:32 UTC +00:00
Angry Birds [App Store]Current Version: 1.2.0 The newest update for Angry Birds is nearly worthy of being a standalone sequel, with 42 new levels across two new graphically unique worlds to play through. Crystal has been been added for leaderboard and achievement support for high score/points junkies, and changes have even been made to older levels, mostly in the form of bug fixes, but with some small graphical enhancements thrown in there as well. I fell in love with Angry Birds when I first reviewed it, so you can bet that I'll be cranking up the game as soon as I get the chance. Bird Strike was only released about a month ago, so it's a nice surprise to see an entirely new game mode (in the form of "Endless Climb mode") make its way into the game. The new mode really raises the value of the game, but the price Read More
Parachute Ninja Review: This One Is A Black Belter!
Calendar16 Wed, 10 Feb 2010 14:30:44 UTC +00:00
There are only quite a handful of games which survival modes I’ll put in the leagues of Doodle Jump, this game is one of them. Freeverse has been focusing on some iPhone-ization of our most favorite arcade games lately, and it’s nice to see them present us with something new and very theme controlled. Parachute Ninja is very well rounded any way you look at it and the more you play it, the harder it is to put it down. Presentation Everything is very polished, it’s what keeps me coming back. The game has that ninja thing going on what with the Asian symbols, gongs, bamboo sticks and heck even the music. Those things are all good because if you’re going to name your game something with Ninja in it, make sure the game is worthy of it. Controls You move around the game by jumping from one slingshot to the Read More
'Parachute Ninja' – Avenge The Hut-Burning
Calendar16 Wed, 03 Feb 2010 04:15:32 UTC +00:00
Freeverse's Parachute Ninja [App Store] has been getting some much deserved positive first impressions in our forums since its release last night. Parachute Ninja's story isn't exactly the standout part of this game; some dude set your hut on fire so this weird little yellow guy with wicked eyebrows tells you that you need to put on some funny clothes and bounce around a 2D platforming-based world until a game over screen pops up. Something like that. The core of Parachute Ninja's gameplay is based around launching a tiny, round ninja from little floating slingshots all around an area and using his parachute to float around the environment. Slinging the ninja from the vines that form the game's slingshot/platforms works much like the slingshot mechanic from . Once in the air, touching anywhere on the screen will cause the ninja to whip out his tiny parachute, which will slow his fall and Read More

Freeverse’s Parachute Ninja Drops Into The App Store
Calendar16 Tue, 02 Feb 2010 16:00:24 UTC +00:00
Freeverse’ high-flying platformer, Parachute Ninja, has officially landed in the App Store. Parachute Ninja features two distinct game modes, Story and Survival, that allows the gameplay to take two entirely different forms. In story mode you will be flinging your parachute packing ninja across 30 levels through four environments while defeating enemies all via touch and tilt controls.  Platforms in the game are basically slingshots, allowing you to pull back and fling your ninja across the level.  You can deploy your ninja’s parachute with a single tap in order to tilt your device and float safely down to the next platform. Survival mode is more for you Doodle Jump fans.  In this mode the goal is to get as high up as physically possible without letting the tide catch up to you.  It uses the same gameplay mechanics as Story mode, slingshot platforms and all, but you will strictly be making your Read More

I'm new in iPod gaming and I could say that I do love this games. The controls are easy to use,if you have play NDS you get it fast. Graphics, story and music are amazing =D but it needs more music I keep hearing the same one all over. I wish there was a sound/music slider to control the sound in iPod/iPhone games. I own an iPod G1 I can't control the sound, and it hurts my ears. But if anybody have an answer to my problem I THANK YOU in advance =D. Overall I enjoy the game very much."" Remember to move the ninja with your iPod/iPhone turning it left/right when the umbrella is open"" I think i miss reading this. For some reason this game feels like it was made with,,, torque engine?
EPIC!!!

Fun
WouldUdoit 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I like how it uses both touch and tilt creatively. And I also love how you can drag all across the entire level with one finger to explore. Nice touch. One of the better games for iPhone out there.
