They've crippled a great product.
disappointed ER doc 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Terrible product. For some reason, they've made it so that ALL the calculators (dosing, metabolic) and the drugs interactions checker require an active internet connection to work! If your connection is spotty, the whole product is crippled.
Needs work
PDA Fan 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
The app is sluggish at best and crashes intermittently.

SLO MD 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Pepid has, in my opinion, been the gold standard in PDA reference software. This version is excellent. Only suggestion for improvement: when prompted to enter dosing info, the program should default to a numeroc keyboard.
Clearly dissapointed. Too slow.
ERDocNLA 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
As an ER doc, I have been using pepid for over 4 years on my palm and love it. I have been eagerly anticipating the release of pepid for the iPhone so that I could do away with my palm but I am sorely dissapointed. It is FAR too slow to be usable in the ER. This is perhaps a multi-dimentional problem, as I believe the processor speed of the iPhone is certainly is big part to blame, but nevertheless, I cannot use this program on my iphone. I certainly applaud the authors of pepid effort to make a program for the iPhone, but it is by no means a replacement for my palm version. I eagerly await a faster version alongside a faster iPhone.
Sluggish
1fitdoc 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.5
This app is so expensive on the iPhone with the same content as that of the Palm PDAversion but not nearly as quick or stable. Frankly without a significant upgrade I cannot see myself changing devices from palm to iPhone. I love the content of PEPID but this platform is horrific.
What have they been doing this whole time?
Disappointed PEPID fan 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
For the amount of time it took them to release this, it is very unpolished. I love the information that PEPID brings to the table, but the painful way they have made to access will make this a pass for now. To go back and forth from great iphone menus to their arcaic icons, arrggg. Notice how none of the screen images, show how the content really looks. Keep trying guys, 'cause this is horrible.
Rock on PEPID!!
The Doc is in the house 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.4
I think the PEPID is great!! Easy to use, fast, stable, and in general I find it the best source of medical reference around. Not sure why anyone would rate it below 4 stars. Keep up the good fight, PEPID.
Very poor, confusing user interface
snsMD 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.4
I wanted to get some basic information and saw pepid available. I had used this many years ago and not found that great. Thoought I'd check what they have. It just feels like it goes round and round as I try to use it for information. Also got some error when I tried to see a topic and moved to conversion calculator - NSURLErrorDomain error -999. What gives? I don't think this is a mature product both in content or use. I don't think I can use it. Anyone else feels the same?
Finally PEPID answers our prayers!

iPhone version a big disappointment for long time fan
mlc62 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I've used PEPID on the Palm in a top tertiary academic medical center ED and loved it since shortly after it came out. I was really looking forward to the iPhone version, especially after the enticing comments about the great iPhone interface. But what a disappointment. Mostly less functional than the old version, more costly. Hope version 2.0 is under way already!
a bit cumbersome
pitmd 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Just getting use to this app as I'm a long time epocrates user. Overall I prefer epocrates but I think pepid has better medical info for diseases. I don't like that the navigation bar doesn't show up right away but only after you look up a specific topic. If you want to get to the critical care section there's no way to get there instantly. Although there are many more tables than epocrates I don't use 99% of them anyway. The one I use all the time on epocrates for dealing with elevated INR I can't find on pepid. Epocrates has a good infectious disease app lacking as far as I can tell on pepid. Overall I would like to keep using pepid for disease and treatment. I think the content is there but I think it could be better organized and more user friendly. I realize this is the first release for iphone. Hopefully they will improve this as I think with a better interface and organization this app could shine.
Love it...
CityDoc 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.4
I've been a long time PEPID user like many others who posted here. It's been a long wait but finally PEPID is on my iPhone! Yes, to get some of the data like drug interactions an internet connection is required, but I don't mind that, because the hospital I work at is wired from roof to basement. WI-FI is nearly everywhere. So, stop complaining people! This is the future of mobile computing. Applications are connected to the web to get you latest and greatest information and this is great! I know that my drug interactions are always up to date, because they are fetched directly from PEPID's servers. If you do want to complain, then complain to your hospital administration for not properly wiring your hospital.
Finally!!!
HU SN 2009 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.4
I love the pepid app and have no complaints..however, I am using the full version.
Free portion is great.
G.Kerns 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.4
As an EMS provider who works a lot of concerts and "rave" parties, I have found this to be a wonderful refresher for myself and my co-workers. Can't say too much about the paid features, though. My modest EMS salary will not afford me such luxuries.
Hooray for PEPID on iPhone!
ER Nurse1 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I've been looking forward to pepid ED on my iPhone since I bought my phone. It was worth the wait... pepid produces by far the best content out there and is definately better than epocrates or anything else i've tried. it's fast and easy to use in the ER.
yay!
PDApro 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Love this app. After using PEPID for years; started on palm, then moving to bb, and now the itouch...and bar far, this is my favorite. I am guessing the low star ratings are from those who are not familiar with the pepid navigation and methods because I've found this platform to be extremely user friendly-PLUS the larger screen interface makes it the best PDA for use. Highly recommended....
Finally

I was a pepid user during PA school for my palm. It is great to have it for my iphone
Smart but not sexy
Jeff698 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I'm a long time PEPID user on my Palm Treo. I use this app every shift I work as an emergency physician. The content is unrivaled. To say that I've been eagerly awaiting this release is an understatement.
$500 per year subcription?
Guto1 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.4
Please support Obamas spending policy by paying this subscription rates, by the way the ER Pepid iPhone version is as fast as the economic recovery after the stimulus package. Keep spending....
Content still great, but this is expensive, buggy beta software
C T Dub 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
PEPID is the best overall emergency medicine reference -- disease and treatment information, drug reference, calculators, etc. I've been a satisfied user on the Palm for 7+ years, despite the sizable annual cost.
No pics
Prunebelly 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Overall ok, but no illustrations show up. Is this b/c I'm using a trial version?
Not impressed with the interface
macdaddymd 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.4
It seems difficult to get to the info I need. Small links, step-wise rather than search-result based. Often, I get several links in and I can't find the info I need. Needs to be more iPhone-like in its interface. I am using the Emergency Medicine suite. Seems relatively complete, just unsatisfying to use. Hopefully, interface tweaks will make it more usable. I need my old friend back from the Palm days. At least I know how to get from A to Z easily.
Useless without a wifi connection.
disappointed ER doc 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.5
I periodically check to see if Pepid has fixed their iPhone version, but no luck.
iPhone version a big disappointment for long time fan
mlc62 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Further update about dependence on wireless content - in addition to CT scanners and many other areas in hospitals with poor or no reception, what about power outages? Outdoors? In wilderness medicine? Underfunded facilities with no wireless at all? What a conceptual oversight. Isn't this supposed to be designed for EMERGENCY medicine (as compared to "my connection is always on" medicine)?
Still useless without active wifi or 3G connection
disappointed ER doc 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.5
Pepid's website shows that the newest version STILL won't work without a wifi or 3G connection. All those nifty calculators that made the original product a powerhouse are fully dependent on active internet connection. This makes the product useless in certain areas of most hospitals (e.g. CT, trauma bay, pediatrics at my institution) or the hospital wifi crashes. Or you're in the Pacu. Or you're in some remote clinic that's barely got running water, much less wifi. Etc.
ER Doc

Honestly, this was a BIG dissapointment. Sorry I waited with high expectations.
$500 per 2 year subcription?
Guto1 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.6
Supporting Obamas spending policy by paying this subscription rates? ER Pepid iPhone version is not only very expensive is also very slow, inteface is terrible, useless on the busy ER setting, the stimulus package effect on the economy, will be faster. You can save you money or support Obama and Keep spending....
A turkey
disappointed ER doc 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.6
I checked in with Pepid a week or so ago and asked if the program was always going to be web dependent. The current problem is that without a solid wifi or 3G signal NONE of the calculators or drug interactions databases will work. That's a real nice feeling when you're in the trauma bay (no phone signal) and you need to calculate a drip asap.
Really?
Thundalicious 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.6
Let's face it, the interface is embarassing, as if the program is stuck in the 1990s. . I just expect more out of a $200 app.
Like an ER visit, expensive and very long wait

Best thing ever for EMS and ER!!!
Drug Interactions Generator no longer requires network connectivity! Hooray!
The Doc is in the house 5.0 stars Version: 1.5.0
I have been using PEPID on iPhone since its release. Good news! to have the drug interactions generator local to the device (no WiFi needed). And its blazing fast too! Nice work PEPID!
Love it...
CityDoc 5.0 stars Version: 1.5.0
Update: Looks like they've heard the complaints and made drug interactions calculator fully native, which makes it even better!
Yet Another Disappointed ER Doc . . .
USNERDOC 1.0 stars Version: 1.5.0
I am a practicing Emergency Physician and a long time subscriber / user of PEPID. I have tried the iPhone version a number of times with great disappointment. It is just not a viable application for use in the Emergency Department. PEPID is a great application with excellent content, unfortunately linking use and access to a WiFi connection is the weak link. Until the program becomes a native application it is simply not worth the time or expense for use in the Emergency Department. One can only hope the development team at PEPID will listen.
Thanks for listening!!!
ER Nurse1 5.0 stars Version: 1.5.0
I'm sooooo glad pepid listened to their customers and made it so I could access the drug interactions without a wifi signal. Thanks pepid! This is by FAR the best application out there and i highly recommend it to all my colleagues. i really don't know what i would do without my pepid.
Decision support

I've found it very useful.
ED MD and longtime PEPID User likes the iPhone version!
SWAT Doc 4.0 stars Version: 2.0
I've used PEPID practically since it's inception. It's a very practical tool that has evolved nicely over the years to take advantage of the latest innovations in hardware platforms and maintain it's freshness in terms of clinical content. I'm an emergency physician and I appreciate having PEPID at the bedside to answer a quick question, look up a drug, figure out a dosage, etc. The iPhone version improves the interface tremendously from the Palm version I'd previously used. It is worth the money!
Still disappointed ER Doc
disappointed ER doc 1.0 stars Version: 1.5.0
I tried pepid (elements) again after I heard that the interactions generator was now native. However, when I put in 'warfarin' and 'cipro' I got a "no significant interactions" message. Bad, bad, bad. Makes me wonder how I can trust these guys.
