Apps To Help You Deal With Too Many Apps
Calendar16 Mon, 30 Jan 2012 21:37:00 UTC +00:00
When you see as many apps as we do at RWW, you begin to feel like it's all been done. So many of the everyday jobs for apps to do can already be done by at least one app (if not dozens). How many ways can you share photos with your friends? How many social networks and check-ins and restaurant-discovery services do we need? Lately, we've started to see a new class of app emerge just for managing these tasks across their various apps. The idea of apps for our apps sounds ridiculous, but some of them are neat, and some are downright lifesavers. Here's a round-up of apps you should use if you want to bring your many social networks into one dedicated place. Viewing Photos A photo app called Pixable exists just to pull the photos from your Facebook and Twitter feeds into one attractive place. It allows further Read More
Pixable turns photo viewing into a daily addiction
Calendar16 Mon, 30 Jan 2012 03:35:08 UTC +00:00
Pixable, a photo viewing aggregation service, has won praise for the smart way it organizes photos and orders them by relevancy for users. Now, we’re seeing that users are catching on in a big way and have turned the iOS mobile app into a daily addiction. The New York City company told me it recently eclipsed the 1 million download mark on iOS, with almost of all of the downloads happening in the last few months of last year. But while noteworthy, that’s something that a lot of apps are able to pull off. What’s really interesting to me is how sticky Pixable has become for users, who are engaging continuously at a pretty impressive rate. Pixable says that its users are viewing 100 million photos a month and opening the app on average 11 times per month. Some 60 percent of those users are still active on the app since Read More

New Apps for Your iPhone and Android, April 2011 Edition
Calendar16 Wed, 04 May 2011 22:50:23 UTC +00:00
In this continuing series, we round up some of our favorite new applications for smartphones each month, specifically for iPhone and Android devices. This spring edition is one of the longest lists yet - there have been a number of incredible new launches to highlight this past month. (And yes, we know it's May already, these things take time). As a bonus just for this month, we've added a section for new iPad and Honeycomb apps, too. As always, feel free to share your favorite apps in the comments! Fring: Not new, but a new release for both iPhone, Android and Nokia lets users make free group video calls with up to four friends. (Free, multiple app stores) Trapcall: Available for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry, this call screening/call recording/call blocking app lets you see who's calling, even when the number is blocked, plus blacklist callers, record calls and more. New iPhone and iPad Apps in the App Store This Week…
Calendar16 Fri, 08 Apr 2011 10:19:17 UTC +00:00
Browsing the App Store this weekend?  If so, here are ten applications released recently.  Enjoy! One hundred retro-gaming classics from Atari, however to get them all you’ll need to make a fair few in-app purchases.  You do get Pong for free, though.  Free. An organizer which uses a visual mapping system to plan events, tasks and appointments.  $1.99/£1.19. A tennis app with training by former champion Jimmy Connors, featuring more than an hour of video content, a journal and other tips to improve your game.  $9.99/£5.99. Consolidate your photo streams into one app, follow friends, share and save pictures.  Free. Take pictures of your food and the app will tell you how many calories it contains!  You can also track your daily intake and share everything via Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare.  $2.99/£1.79. Who doesn’t have a secret desire to throw axes at their friends?  This app makes that dream come true Read More
The folks at Pixable have just put out a new Photofeed app and the new version of the photo-viewing program adds support for Flickr and Instagram, in addition to its Facebook foundation. The Photofeed iPhone app is aimed at giving you access to your friend’s photos and that’s it. Why? Well, some people love to keep up with their Facebook friends’ shots but hate the drivel that is status updates and are tired of CityVille requests. Once you download the app, you use Facebook Connect to sign in. The Photofeed iPhone app uses an algorithm to determine which people and photos are important to you and gives you photos of the day, photos of the week and profile pictures. Once you’re in one of these categories, you can use virtual buttons to see more pictures or to view a slideshow and you can also swipe to navigate. Left and right swiping Read More

I don't know who works at pixable or what their agenda is but this app is quite good. Finally something that streamlines the whole process of looking through my friends photos and keeps me updated in their ridiculous lives. Beautifully designed and easy to use! Thanks!

Finally! This was so much needed! It was about time, now I have a way to make sense of the shitload of pictures in Facebook. Really convenient to be able to browse so easily through the pics. Love the left/right top/down scroll approach. Never miss a Facebook pic again. A must have.
Description is misleading
trapoon 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
The app's description is completely misleading. The ability to "enjoy your friends' photos on Facebook, Instagram, Flickr and more" is not correct. It just displays the public popular feeds of Instagram and Flickr, so I have no way to view my friends' photos on those services. Also, what is "more" referring to? I don't see any other services in the app.
Awesome App!
Jaderfaceinspace 5.0 stars Version: 1.0

AWESOME!
rjt123 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app provides a greay way to browse through the latest and most popular facebook photos. Not being able to be on facebook all day, I would have missed a lot of these photos that my friends were posting and commenting on!

Facebook :(

I was very excited when I read about this on Techcrunch this morning, but I guess in my Instagram/Flickr joy, I missed the part that said it requires a Facebook login. Allow users to login with Instagram/Flickr/Twitter/Facebook… don't just stick with one. This might be a decent app, but i'll never know… deleted after I saw "Login with Facebook."
