Loved by some, hated by others, the art of applying a special filter to a picture taken with your iPhone has exploded in popularity over the past year or so.  In fact, it has become so popular, there’s talk of a similar feature becoming standard in iOS 5.  In the meantime, those wanting to add filters to their pictures should take a look at any one of the following apps, all of which have a catalog of filters to give even the dreariest of snaps a new lease of life. A great cross-platform photo-sharing social network.  Take a photo from within the app, or select one from your Camera Roll, then add a filter of your choice.  There are nine to choose from, each with the option of adding a border, and the chance to share your uploaded pic through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and many others.  Free. One of the very Read More

4 tips (and a hack) to make your iPad work-worthy
Calendar16 Thu, 16 Jun 2011 00:00:47 UTC +00:00
Reading Darrell’s recent post 7 iPad Habits of Highly Effective Remote Workers prompted me to look more closely at how I can really do work on my iPad. I have to admit, I’m still not convinced that the iPad will be my laptop replacement. However, with the help of the Apple wireless keyboard and some other peripherals and apps, it can come close. Here are some tips to make your iPad work-worthy. 1. Make audio calls via VoiP. Audio calls via Skype on the iPad work like a dream. Just plug in the earbuds that you usually use for your iPhone, fire up the Skype app and make your audio calls. There are other VoiP apps that will work on the iPad without charging fees, such as Viber, but they require that the other person also has the same software on her device. You can even use Google Voice on the iPad,  albeit Read More

Sometimes you only have one opportunity to capture a moment, so you want to ensure everything is right and your photo doesn’t come out looking like it was taken with a cheap and flimsy digital camera. The iPhone camera has come a long way since the original iPhone in 2007, currently sporting a 5 megapixel sensor with flash in the iPhone 4, but there are still a few things you can do to make sure you’re getting the best shot possible. Adobe Shows Off Photoshop-like Application for iPad
Calendar16 Wed, 06 Apr 2011 13:02:00 UTC +00:00
At the recent Photoshop World Conference, Adobe showed an iPad version of Photoshop. According to website electronista, the software wasn't named, but it functions just like a real version of Photoshop, complete with layers and effects. They even showed off an isometric view that allows a user to see the various layers quickly, it actually sounds pretty neat. One of the very awesome features shown off was a color mixer in which the user can literally drop colors together and combine them "like a painter." It's all very interesting, and if software like this could be priced affordably (Adobe is, after all, the same company that prices Photoshop CS5 at $700+) it would definitely be a great choice for photo editing. Not much else was said about the software, as mentioned above, it doesn't have an official name and there was not target release date or launch window announced that we Read More
At this point, I don’t think anyone outside of Redmond is really clinging to the notion that tablets can’t be used to do content creation, at least certain kinds of creation. But, for anyone that needed a little more convincing, Adobe on Wednesday showed a version of Photoshop running on an iPad. And we don’t mean the slimmed-down Photoshop Express that already runs on iPhones, iPads and Android devices. This was just a demo, mind you, but it was serious Photoshop work with layers, at least according to folks who were there. Mobilized isn’t at Photoshop World in Orlando, but I will try to get a few more details on this, such as what all was shown and when real-life tablet owners might be able to get their hands on some code. In the mean time, add photo editing to a growing list of serious tasks that tablets could be good Read More
Photoshop Express 2.0 says "Kill That Noise!"
Calendar16 Sun, 27 Mar 2011 10:52:07 UTC +00:00
Photoshop, the photo-editing software that is so ubiquitous that it has become a verb (“Photoshop that blemish”) has upped the features and price of its iPhone picture editing software. Photoshop Express 2.0, the update of 1.5, is still free and offers crop, rotate, exposure, saturation and tint adjustment. You can also still make photos black-and-white, or add other special effects and you can upload your finished artwork to photoshop.com, Facebook and Twitter. The new version also offers an in-app purchase of Camera pack. That means if you try to use any of the Camera Pack features that appear on the menus, you’ll be asked to pay $3.99 first. Those features include a delayed shutter feature, auto review (which shows the finished photo briefly on the full screen) and one addition that may be worth the money—if you don’t have a similar feature in your computer’s free photo editing software—noise reduction. PhotoShop Express for iOS gets a $3.99 Camera Pack add-on
Calendar16 Fri, 18 Mar 2011 02:30:47 UTC +00:00
Adobe has just updated its Photoshop Express app for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. If you’ve downloaded this app before, you’re aware that this app allows you to do some minor edits to your photos. You can also crop, straighten or rotate your photos as well as apply various filters, digital effects or adjust color settings. So now with the new feature, Adobe has added an in-app purchase option that will bring in more cool features to Photoshop Express for iOS devices. A great feature that comes with the Camera Pack which is very useful especially since photos taken using iOS devices are not that really great is Noise Reduction. The app will automatically detect grainy photos and apply the corresponding corrections. Another nice feature of the Camera Pack add-on is the self timer which allows you to delay the shutter button by 3 to 10 seconds before your iOS device Read More

Posted 03/16/2011 at 6:37am | by J.R. Bookwalter Adobe is stepping up its game with the iOS version of Photoshop Express, this week releasing a 2.0 update for the free app which adds a Camera Pack as an in-app purchase option to make your digital photography even better. Adobe is announcing the immediate availability of Photoshop Express 2.0, an update to their free universal iOS app which aims to enhance the new camera workflow introduced with the previous 1.5 version with the availability of the Adobe Camera Pack, a $3.99 in-app purchase. "Photoshop Express 2.0 and the new Adobe Camera Pack solve a problem for anyone who cares about the quality of their images," explains Adobe senior product manager for mobile imaging Jordan Davis. "Our new Reduce Noise feature fixes the graininess that often impacts photos, even those taken with high-quality phone cameras. It's fast, accurate and puts professional Adobe Photoshop Read More
For the grand old fee of $3.99 you can now have access to two very alluring photographic features on your iPhone, iPod touch and iPad 2: noise reduction for your low-light shots, and a self timer so that you can be in your own photos! These new features are available as an in-app purchase for the excellent (and free) Photoshop Express 2.0 for iOS. $3.99 seems a little bit expensive, but there's no denying that noise reduction and a timer are incredibly useful features. Judging by the sample screenshots, the noise reduction algorithm is rather excellent, too. We can't get our head around one problem with the self timer, though. How do you set up an iPhone to take a photo of yourself? Can you prop it up against some books? It's not like there are many vertical planes to rest your camera against in real life -- and you're not Read More

iPhone Camera App Roundup: I’m Ready for My Closeup
Calendar16 Wed, 16 Feb 2011 20:02:30 UTC +00:00
A good camera app these days should not only take pictures, but allow the photographer to immediately edit and share them. Trying seven camera apps for the iPhone, I found all but one capable of taking decent pictures. That’s not too surprising, since all of them use the same hardware, but software still makes the difference. Most apps had more photo-capturing functionality than Apple’s Camera app, but not all had video. All apps but Camera had editing tools, and most had more sharing options than Apple’s own offering, but the best camera app is built around capturing, editing, and sharing as a unified process. Capture: HDREdit: NoneShare: Email, MobileMe, MMS Camera from Apple compares poorly to other photo apps in terms of features, with the big exception of HDR. High dynamic range photography automatically combines exposure levels from three captured images. In the above photo, Camera bested other apps in overcoming high Read More

Precio: Gratis Read More
Adobe has updated Photoshop Express for iOS 4.2 devices, and it now supports the Retina Display for better quality images. The app is faster and more responsive and adds background uploads and multitasking support. The app provides a limited subset of Photoshop functions, like crop, straighten, rotate, saturation, contrast, sharpen and other basics, and it includes a way to add frames. If you have a Photoshop.com account, you can access any of your stored pictures. People who updated today are complaining that the app took some features away if location services are not enabled -- something that wasn't true in the older version. Specifically, if location services are turned off, the app reports that "Photo metadata cannot be added or preserved, and browsing through photos in the library will be disabled." Photoshop Express is free, but it now requires iOS 4.2 or greater. It runs on the iPad, iPod touch and Read More

Adobe Updates Photoshop Express for iOS to Version 1.5
Calendar16 Tue, 25 Jan 2011 18:05:31 UTC +00:00
Posted 01/25/2011 at 10:05am | by Seamus Bellamy A few months back, Adobe mentioned that they were ditching the development of Project ROME and throwing their resources into the development of applications for tablets, including iOS devices. With that in mind, you might want to consider taking a peek at what Adobe's free Photoshop Express, which was updated to version 1.5 yesterday, can do for you. While not new to the iTunes App Store, Photoshop Express does boast some excellent tools for Photo buffs that want to edit their image files away from their Macs, such as the ability to crop and manipulate image orientation, a number of filters, color correction and even some basic border effects. With version 1.5, Adobe has also baked in full retina display support for iPhone 4 as well as support for the application to upload images while running in the background. Best of all, all Read More
With an update to version 1.5, Photoshop Express for iOS now supports the iPhone and iPod touch's Retina Display, and iOS 4.2's multitasking. The app is free to download, as always. The app received a few other neat updates, too. You can now shoot continuously from inside the app, making action photography a whole lot easier. Uploading to Photoshop.com and Facebook is also much improved: with multitasking now enabled, you can queue some uploads, and then get straight back to taking photos. The press release that we received, incidentally, cites "millions of iOS-based users" -- so this should be a very well-received update indeed! Read More
It’s hard for me to talk about Instagram without gushing about its deceptively appealing attributes and sweetly addictive nature. After 2 weeks of compulsive pointing, shooting, sharing pics, I am no longer capable of reporting objectively about it. However, I invite you to read on for my take on why it’s unique and why it’s set to establish itself as a must-have app. Instagram made its debut just weeks ago on 6 October 2010 and is rumoured to have gained close to one million avid users in that short time. Available only for iPhone at the moment, this is a decidedly astonishing number. The already countless number of great photography, cameras, filters and effects apps notwithstanding, Instagram has merged photography and iPhone to form a special kind of love affair. One where ease and aesthetics rule. The best way to describe it is to say that it’s like twitter for photos. Read More
iPhotographer: Better Photos With The Rule Of Thirds
Calendar16 Thu, 14 Oct 2010 18:04:35 UTC +00:00
By Chris Nitz on October 14th, 2010 Time to apply some photography rules to your iPhone camera for better photos. You are now ready to elevate your iPhone photos to the next level. After all, the internet is full of quick snapshots, party pics, and other miscellaneous photos that do not do iPhone photography justice. How do you take this budding art and make it a richer photographic experience? Start by following the most fundamental of all photography laws: The Rule of Thirds. What is the rule of thirds you ask? Without diving into the science of how the human eye works, this rule is about simply breaking your photos into thirds, and then using those thirds to your advantage. Utilize this rule in two ways for richer photos. First, pretend there is a TIC-TAC-TOE board on whatever you are going to photograph. Now, place your subject in any of the Read More

World rejoices as Photoshop Express for iPad is fixed
Calendar16 Sun, 15 Aug 2010 04:00:00 UTC +00:00
Well, that didn't take too long. After a rather horrible debut Friday Adobe has fixed Photoshop Express so it can now open in the landscape mode. How exactly was this app tested by Adobe and Apple? You'd think since most photo editing is done in the landscape orientation it would have been operated that way. I'd expect that kind of bug to be discovered immediately. Since Adobe is a premier graphics company you'd also think they would choose a logo for the product that doesn't resemble a roll of toilet paper. Anyway, the app now works properly and it's free. You can crop, sharpen, blur, make frames and do other basic adjustments and send your edited pix to Photoshop.com or to Facebook. The app also works on an iPhone and an iPod touch. Have at it, and unlike the iPhone 4 antenna, you can hold your iPad anyway you want. Read More
It seemed like such a great idea. Adobe was releasing a free photo editing tool for the iPhone and the iPad. Well, Photoshop Express is out, and it's a big, honking dog. It has just about the worst ratings I've ever seen on an app from a big time developer, and those ratings are well deserved. On my iPad it launches, crashes, and then picks another app on my iPad to run. In my case it launches Photogene, another photo editing program. Huh? For those lucky enough to get Photoshop Express running it crashes over and over. And over. Did anybody at Adobe test this thing? I'm sure it will be replaced by a working app at some time, but don't grab this thing unless you are really a masochist. It may be working fine for a few, but for most users the app is a steaming pile of frustration. You've Read More
Photoforge ($2.99 – review), which does a better job of mimicking Photoshop functionality than Photoshop.com Mobile,  is now multi-tasking enabled. There isn’t any actual background task completion for saving large images, but you can simply leave the app and come back to it to finish saving a file. This newest update also boasts an optimized image processing engine, but it’s honestly been a while since I’ve used Photoforge for me to tell the difference. I’ve recently been using a mix of Camera+, TiltShiftGen, and Pixelmator on the Mac for my image manipulation needs. Read More

10 Great iPhone Camera Apps

Though the built-in camera doesn't do everything your point-and-shoot does, and it will never have the optical abilities of a DSLR, it has a major advantage over dedicated cameras: the iPhone OS lets you install apps that take your pictures and video to another level. Here are 10 great apps that let you create, modify and share your images. You probably don't need all ten, as there's some feature overlap among these apps. Found Footage: Photoshop v1.0 recreated on iPhone
Calendar16 Tue, 23 Feb 2010 13:00:00 UTC +00:00
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Photoshop, Adobe recently recreated Photoshop 1.0 -- on the iPhone. Porting the venerable application over to the iPhone reportedly took Adobe a mere two weeks of development. The application is not available on the iTunes Store; Adobe only created the app as a promo for their 20th anniversary Photoshop celebration. The app is really only valuable as a bit of nostalgia anyway, as Adobe's free iPhone app, Photoshop.com Mobile, has far more features than the Photoshop 1.0 app demoed above, which only seems to perform global level and RGB channel adjustments. Even though the app isn't available to the public and is of limited utility compared to more modern offerings, it was still pretty cool to see UI elements from Classic Mac OS running on the iPhone. Using the Mac startup chime when Photoshop 1.0 launches on the iPhone was a particularly inspired touch, even Read More

Macworld.com beschäftigte sich mit der Frage, ob Apple den Opera Mini-Browser zulassen würde, falls dieser zu Überprüfung vorgelegt wird. Adobe updates Photoshop Mobile app for iPhone
Calendar16 Wed, 03 Feb 2010 21:30:00 UTC +00:00
If you're one of the people who has, according to Adobe's John Nack, run the total number of downloads of the Photoshop.com Mobile [free, iTunes Link] app to 6.5 million, then we have information you need to know. Of course, you may have already checked the App Store app to find the update to version 1.1.021 of Photoshop Mobile for iPhone, but if you haven't then you should mosey on over to the App Store Updates and it should magically appear for you. The new version of the Photoshop.com Mobile app adds a new sharpen tool, more photo borders, and (for U.S. users only) playback of videos hosted on Photoshop.com. You'll need to be running iPhone 3.0 or later on your device to enjoy using Photoshop.com Mobile. Read More
Photoshop app: Now with video
Calendar16 Mon, 01 Feb 2010 17:07:12 UTC +00:00
Photoshop.com Mobile 1.1 offers a handful of nice improvements, including one-tap borders. The good news: Adobe's Photoshop.com Mobile app (iTunes link) can now do video. The bad news: it's a one-way proposition. Specifically, the app can stream videos stored in your Photoshop.com account. It just can't upload videos the way it can snapshots. Maybe someday. In the meantime, Adobe has taken an already impressive app and has made it better. In my informal tests, streaming worked quickly and effectively. So if you're already using Photoshop.com to house video, here's you chance to watch them on the fly. As with photos, the app also lets you share videos via e-mail. (Recipients get a link, of course, not the video file itself.) Other improvements include new straighten, sharpen, and contrast tools. As with existing tools like brightness and tint, everything's gesture-driven: you just drag your finger across the photo, much like you would Read More
45 Applications That Will Be On My iPhone Next Year

A couple weeks ago I wrote about the top 40 iPhone apps of 2009 in the App Store. This article got quite a bit of success (especially on Twitter) and a few of you asked me what where my favorite iPhone apps of 2009. I’ve had many apps come and go this year so I guess the best way to tell what my favorites are is to tell you the one I will keep with me for next year. Facebook – Need I say more? Indispensable if you have a Facebook account (note: you may want to join our Facebook page). Flight Control – My favorite iPhone game. Ever! It’s fun and addicting. My best score is 357 planes landed. Can you do better? Bejeweled 2 – My fiancée turned me on this game. I used to play it a lot but I got over it. Tap Tap Revenge 3 – Read More

Adobe layoffs strike home, 680 to lose jobs
Calendar16 Wed, 11 Nov 2009 04:30:00 UTC +00:00
TechCrunch, among other news outlets, reports that Adobe is cutting 680 employees as part of a restructuring plan. This is roughly 9 percent of the company's workforce. The news comes on the heels of Electronic Arts' decision to layoff 1,500 workers and a reduction of 600 from Adobe back in December. Adobe had purchased Omniture in September and reduced its workforce by 9 percent at that time. The cost of restructuring for Adobe will total between $65 and $71 million, the TechCrunch article says. The layoffs come just after Adobe announced that Flash Professional CS5 will be able to turn Flash projects into iPhone apps. The company has also recently released a version of its Photoshop.com Mobile app for the iPhone [iTunes link]. Read More

Remember the new Photoshop Mobile App for iPhone I told you about a little while ago? You know, the new and free app that lets you crop, apply filters and more to images taken with your iPhone (or any image stored on the device!). Well, it looks like Adobe has taken in some success with it, as they’ve passed the 1 million download mark for the app already. Insane. Perhaps what is even more impressive is the timeframe it took to reach 1 million downloads. Try 1 week. Congrats to Adobe! James was born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada. Adobe’s new Photoshop.com Mobile iPhone and iPod touch app is apparently already a massive hit.  The app, which is currently available for free, has been downloaded well over one million times since its launch only 10 days ago.  On top of that, it has also been able to grab and hold on to the number one position in the Top Free apps list as well as the Top Free Photography apps list for 10 consecutive days. Wow–on behalf of the team, thanks again for the warm reception! Here’s the official blurb: “Adobe today announced that its Photoshop.com Mobile for iPhone application has been downloaded over 1 million times from Apple’s App Store, a milestone reached in less than one week of availability. Photoshop Mobile released for the iPhone
Calendar16 Sun, 11 Oct 2009 22:31:22 UTC +00:00
Adobe has now released Photoshop.com Mobile, a free application allowing users to edit photos on their iPhone using simple gestures, and has been anticipated for awhile now. It’s an app that will interface with the photoshop.com site, giving 2GB of space for photos and other related media. From the app site: “It’s now easy to improve photos on your iPhone. Choose between a variety of one-touch Effects, or simply drag your finger across the screen to quickly crop, rotate, or adjust a photo’s color. Get artistic by applying Filters like Soft Focus or Sketch. Never fear. Photoshop.com Mobile lets you undo and redo changes until you get just the picture you want, and we always save a copy of your original photo.” This one will skyrocket to the top of the apps heap pretty quickly, we’d imagine. Free Reign: Free iPhone Apps Roundup #13

It’s still tough to find some free apps that aren’t demos, but here we are again with a sampling of the freebies of the App Store: Marine Sharpshooter Concept: A touch-screen based sniper game with a campaign and arcade mode. Strengths: Good, immersive sound; some effort went into a story; headshots are satisfying Non-Strengths: controls a little sluggish, esp. dragging the scope around the screen. Zooming in looks awkward, since the scope looks like it’s zooming in on area with aboslutely no enemies. Overall: I’m surprised this game is free — it looks to me like it would normally go for a dollar or two. It’s not the best game out there, but it’s something interesting to try for without using up any of your precious cash money. Topple 2 Concept: Kinda reminds me of Stackrobats -> Stack them tall, don’t let them fall! Strengths: Good multi-touch usage to rotate blocks, Read More

Free Adobe Photoshop for iPhone/iPod touch Released
Calendar16 Sat, 10 Oct 2009 23:03:59 UTC +00:00
As noted by MMi user angiepangie last night... Adobe's "Photoshop.com Mobile App for iPhone" is now available on iTunes. You can draw your own conclusions about whether this somewhat feature-limited photo manipulation app deserves the Photoshop name. However, it's arguably best-of-class for the iPhone, and includes integration with Adobe's online photosharing site, so it's well worth a look. Photoshop.com Mobile does have a number of useful tools for manipulating and enhancing your photos, including basic transforms (crop, rotate, flip.) and color adjustments (saturation, tint, exposure, vibrancy), and converting images to black and white. The app also has rendering tools like Sketch, for the hand-drawn effect, and Soft Focus for the artsy touch. Photoshop.com Mobile also includes the ability to Undo and redo multiple changes in Photoshop-like fashion so you can continue to tweak and compare without having to do your edits over again. The Photoshop.com library, though far less well known Read More

The Appstore is full of apps that will not just take your photos but also offer a ton of editing tools to touch them up and give them a little more sparkle. Some have been terrible attempts and others are downright ingenious. Well now Adobe, the makers of the industry standard in retouching tools have brought their free online editing tool to the iPhone as a simplified mobile version and I must say, for being free, it is a surprisingly easy and feature-filled app to use. It's obvious that the app is meant to be accessible and to enable users to quickly add effects and retouching to their photos. The app does not really bring any new features to the table that I could find. But it does bring an interface that allows for the quickest fixup experience that can be found on the iPhone. Add that to it's native ability Read More

The new Photoshop app for iPhone is FREE, and provides a lot of basic functionality for those looking to share, edit or tweak up photos taken on an iPhone. I played around with it a bit last night, and was pleasantly Read More

Adobe has unveiled a strategic link in their social photo sharing experiment with the launch of for iPhone. This free photo editing thrill ride lets users revise and share photos with a simple but useful array of one-touch effects. The user interface is intuitive and easy to mange with minimal taps and zero lag time. The app provides about 15 individual enhancements that include the popular crop, rotate and flip for images, plus soft focus, vignette blur, sketch and pop art as part of the gang. The ability to easily add and undo photo effects makes this app a threat to many $.99 iPhone applications charging for less of the same. Yep, Photoshop on the iPhone. At first glance, it's not much different from other light iPhone photo editing apps, except it's tied to their online service, but the effects and interface look above average. And, uh, freeness. The tools are basic—you can crop, adjust exposure, saturation, and tint, among others, with some standard special effects like soft focus, colors and filters like "warm vintage" and pop—but using entirely swipe-based gestures as a virtual slider for how intensely or lightly the effect is applied is natural and easy. Adobe Systems on Friday introduced a new Photoshop app for iPhone users that lets them edit photos from both their phone and their online library on Photoshop.com. The app is free of charge and offers tools such as cropping, image rotation, color controls, and simple one-touch filter effects that can change the look and feel of shots all at once. As soon as users are done editing any photo, they can either save it back to their phone or upload it to their Photoshop.com account. The app also doubles as a photo-taking tool since you can simply take a photo, then have it upload right away. A Photoshop app for the iPhone is a dream of mine. This would be a great free "lite" version if Adobe offered a more powerful and versatile $20 app along with it. I use Photogene and I think it was $5 and I would have paid $10 without batting an eye. Photogene's has a far more robust set of options when it comes to adjusting levels, exposure and color correcting. The simple exposure slider on the Adobe app doesn't even compare.

99% of the reviews look like they are copy and paste. They didn't even try hard to hide it... There are like 3 dif ones. The app itself is okay, the only reason it's on the top 25 is the fact that they slammed there own app with 5 stars and 2 stars a few times

Slick GUI. Simple photo enhancing. Nice touch sensitive approach to parameter tweeking. No sharpening controls. No level controls. Crude editing. Mostly fun house effects. When dragging finger for tweeking, a slider would be preferrable to a counter. Very poor syncing with photoshop.com. I am logged into app with email, but same email not accepted for online portion of the app. I'm either logged in or I'm not, guys. Guess I'm not. Will look forward to improvements, but for now other photo editing apps are better, even the basic BestCamera app is better.

Was expecting more from Adobe. This looks like it was thrown together. Not that useful at all. Effects are lame, especially since they can't be tweaked very much. There are much better apps for this. Even Tiffen Photo Fx blows this out of the water.
It's ok for free I guess
Davbo 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.0.209
Spend a couple dollars and buy photogene instead. It's a MUCH better program.
Nice app, but being written in Flash shows
CompBoss17 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0.209
Look Adobe, we get it. You guys don't want to part with Flash. It was a huge success for you. But when you write your apps in Flash for use on an iPhone, you're not really accomplishing anything because the programs have to be rewritten anyways to work well on here. And most importantly, you end up with inconsistent user interfaces like this one. So please, do us all a favor and let the other mobile platforms run your crappy proprietary code. And leave iPhone development alone. By the way, your app needs red eye removal.

ALSJR18 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.0.209
Got more than I expected for a free application. Works well. Easy to use. Didn't overwrite the existing image when I saved my changes. I was hoping to get the same effect as seen in the ColorSplash application (which isn't free) but alas it doesn't do it so only 4 out of 5.
Dissapointing
Burfurd 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.0.209
There are a lot of photo editing apps that are as good or better than this. It falls short of what one might expect from adobe. This app is less than average at best. Sketchbook does more than this. And I hear adobe has a paid version of Photoshop coming WHY WOULD ANY ONE PAY FOR IT. Adobe's time might be better spent developing and convincing apple for flash for iPhone.
Good, but expected more
blueplanetphoto 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0.209
A nice interface, but from Adobe I expected more. I currently use Mill Colour and Photogene as my main iPhone photo apps and will add PS Mobile to that mix for some images but not all. I wouldn't want Photoshop on the iPhone, but a more comprehensive application from Adobe specifically geared toward smaller cam-phone files would be worth paying up to $10 for.
Finally photoshop for iPhone!
Jo-Shadow 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0.209
This is worth getting alone for the fact that it let's you crop and rotate and the app is free! Overal it has a clean interface, all effects respond on the fly, and the online uploading and editing work great.

As someone determined to elevate iPhone photography to a true art, this is a very handy tool to have in my bag of tricks.
Awesome

Nice and simple with intuitive icons supplemented by text hints. I'd like to see an auto-enhance similar to iPhoto's, as well as a sharpen function.
It's ok

Really good app, could use more filters. Wish you could upload to other photo sites such as Flickr. I do have a Photoshop.com account but I never used it after the second time, I just found it lacking in so many ways.
Easy to use

Photoshop on the iPhone? Well, nowhere near what the real thing does and a little slow, but it's so easy to edit your photos on the iPhone. Very well thought out app. Highly recommended.
As a free app, it's ok

Not a bad app for very basic editing, but it's not going to replace my other photo apps.
Meh....

This isn't photoshop.....the Photoforge app is the real deal. This has some filters and saturation/levels. However, if you want a full featured app buy Photoforge. I expected more from Adobe. I use Photoshop daily for videogame textures. I was hoping this would be more robust. Adobe if this was a full featured app I'd gladly pay $10. Please step it up and look at your competition.
Adobe can do MUCH better
Bonsairick 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.0.209
If the product were NOT by Adobe, I'd have just deleted it and moved on. So 2 stars for now. I realize that we're talking an iPhone app here, so it can't get too sophisticated, but Adobe can do a LOT better. There are other photo manipulation apps that do more than this. True PhotoShop is an AWESOME program that I've worked with for 15+ years. This is more like a kiddies' version. It's missing simple basics like the clone stamp, layers, levels, to name a few. I know they're possible on iPhone because I've found other apps that WILL do those things. Unfortunately, no single app will do them all, so rudimentary retouching requires 2 or 3 apps. I was hoping that PhotoShop would be the "one-stop-shopping" program for the iPhone. Not even close yet. I'll be watching for updates. I hope they come quickly because at the moment, this is just taking up space on my HD. It may not sound like it, but I'm one of your staunchest supporters (been using PhotoShop on the Mac since version 2.5, now using CS4). Come on, Photoshop, show us your stuff!
Don't get

All this Is, is a app you can just crop and change the color of a picture nothing special so practically waist of space
Great App for new backgrounds
Who ever... 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1.3
This App is great! I now can change my background on my iPod WITHOUT importing photos on my computer. All i have to do now is go on Google, look for an image, take a screen-shot, open the App, crop, save, and set. Okay maybe a little to much BUT u can get your own backgrounds, not the lame ones from "background" Apps. But improvement listed before this will be appreciated also.
Crop and rotate does not work really well
Quaternion  2.0 stars Version: 1.0.1.3
1. Activate the crop tool.
非常棒!
