I've spent about 2 hours messing with this and it's awesome. I photograph wildlife and always wanted to see one of my photos painted so I jumped on this at full price after looking at the lite version. Have worked up 3 variations of 5 photos and was delighted with it. A few items that might turn future buyers off, for the developers to think about: 1) the default seems to be incredibly slow renditions with the mechanical arm. This was interesting for a while until I realized the arm ended up in my saved "painting". NOT Good. 2) Maybe a meditation mode only or demo mode for the slow+painter arm. ---I ended up preferring to go at full speed and try different variations...some pictures work better starting with highlights and others look way better starting with shadows or midtones....really exciting waiting for the final picture in each case. Wish I had timed these the slow way and fast, for readers of this review. 3) I think the final picture will only look good on the small iPod screen. If that is correct, is there a windows or mac version for higher resolution pics? I've tried with several windows graphics programs and never had this much success. Otherwise: I found this program to be challenging and somewhat intuitive for commands, tho I'd never used anything that navigated like it before. Good use of what little space we're working with, me on the iPod touch. Keep up the good work...I have to email out some of my paintings to friends now!

Once you start using this program, I dare you to try to stop making more... I put old photos I had from a Paris vacation years ago back into iphoto just to see my art come alive on my ipod touch using Pocket Artist. The application paints based on easy settings and varies accordingly... it's fun, addictive, and easy to use - plus the results are superior to most paint programs I've used in the past. Now, my wish list - selective file sizes so I can make larger images. ( I'd pay more... it's already a bargain! )
