+ Universal App $29.99 Our Review By Danyel Rios on November 1st, 2011 Rating: :: ANATOMICALLY SPECTACULAR With gorgeous graphics, intuitive controls and constant updates Pocket Body (Musculoskeletal) is a slick and comprehensive way to study for that next Anatomy and Physiology exam or effectively communicate with a patient using a visual aid. Not these new-fangled digital bodies that have zoom functions, built-in quizzes and 30,000 words of detailed anatomical data. Lazy, these kids today, lazy. Actually, I had used books and coloring sheets that were sloppily organized in old binders. Sooo worth it!

I'm a first year med student and there's no other way to put it- this app is a God send. I absolutely love it... It integrates everything beautifully and the ability to scroll down through layers is so helpful! I only wish the arteries veins and nerves were labeled too, which maybe they could add onto an updated version? Either way, I definitely recommend this app.. For the amount of clarity it's given me in anatomy I think it's worth much more than $20 bucks!
The Best Ipad Anatomy App for the Price!

I am an orthopaedic resident and I would highly recommend this app to any clinician, (particularly primary care and orthopaedists) who have been looking for a good patient communication tool. Great resolution and user interface, can and have used images for presentations. Developers seem to be constantly adding improvements. I made a suggestion and it was very quickly addressed in this last update. Although currently it lacks the fine detail of a surgical anatomy atlas (which is ok since it is very well priced) it has a wealth of clinically relevant material which is indexed. Overall five stars, and well worth the money!
Great study aid

I'm currently a first year medical student and this app has been extremely useful for me in terms of being able to quickly find musculoskeletal structures on the fly instead of flipping through textbook atlases. It will give you information about origins and attachments of the muscles, as well as motions they are responsible for. You can add your own pins and write your own notes if you wish (this used to be faulty but they fixed the issue).
Amazing application!

I downloaded this program after I gave Netter's Anatomy Flashcards a good try and this app blows Netter's out of the water. The best part about this application, especially compared to the one I just mentioned, is that all the origin, insertion, etc. information is already entered. Also, the navigation design in this app makes all different parts of the body readily accessible to the user at any time and makes for a quick and seamless transition from head to toe.I have let both my undergraduate anatomy professor and my future medical school gross anatomy professor try this application on my iPad and they were blown away. Ever since that day, they have had me demonstrate the app to countless colleagues of theirs to show off the extremely clever user interface and the vast amount of relevant knowledge at the tip of every pin point. The developer is exceptionally approachable and responsive when it comes to anything from problems, questions, and suggestions. This allows me to rest assured that this application will be maintained and well taken care of for a long time to come, which will allow any user to get the most out of their investment.Bottom line, as an anatomy student I would recommend this application to ANYONE. You will find this a valuable study aid and will be much better off with this than Netter's or any other app out there. I plan to use this application through medical school and beyond. Spend the money ---> enjoy all this app has to offer.
Awesome a+p app!

I was avoiding my A+P lab homework for a quiz tomorrow, but Pocket Body has helped make the memorization easier. Thanks!

This is a highly engaging learning resource - one that I've recommended to both students and colleagues. Well done Pocket Anatomy. This is one of my favorite apps on the iPad!
Missing muscles and inaccurate!
Closet Anatomist 1.0 stars Version: 1.5
This app is not worth $39.99 or $29.99 (they keep changing the price) - I bought this app having read that it was good value for money from another reviewer - it's not. To be fair to the reviewer at the time of writing his/her review the app was half its current price ($19.99). The developer keeps changing the price with no upgrade (3 times in last two weeks), is this sort of practice allowed on iTunes? Then there are the inaccuracies. Taking just two areas, in the cervical spine area the Intertransversarii and Splenius cervicis are totally missing. In the pelvic area the Bulbospongiosus, Superficial transverse perineal, Sphincter ani and ischiocavernous are missing. On a positive note I quite like the information given for each label. However the app is in essence 4 images of the body, no superior or inferior views and limited labeling. Whilst this may well be a great app in a high school setting it is not viable as a medical reference tool for medical students or professional and should therefore be priced accordingly.
Great overall, some minor flaws.

Have been using this app in concert with Netter flash cards and lots of sketching. It's great for skeletal anatomy in particular, but would be even better if there was an option to view the interior skull (a superior view with the calvaria removed). The quizzes are handy, especially in that you can restrict the subject matter to whatever level you need to study. And I also really appreciate the ability to add content as you need. Definitely worth the cost - especially considering how amazingly expensive the textbooks are!
Great Medical App

Great App! I am a second year med student and I wish that I had this earlier. Is it possible to label the veins and arteries in a future upgrade?
