What happened?

What happened to just wasting little pygmies at my pleasure? This game started out just being a bunch of ways to crush the little guys. Now it more about killing big monster things, dinosaurs, and spiders! Why don't the updates just add some funny ways to kill pygmies anymore? This game used to be lots of fun knowing that a new update was coming out that was just pygmy destroying laughs. Now it trying to be a game with a point. All I'm saying is that it was better when it was just pointless pygmy killing. So add more ways to kill pygmies...Not Big Creatures!

Frequent Updates vs. No Replay Value

EDIT: I would just like to say how great it is that Doodle Jump included a Pocket God easter egg (change your name to an Oog's name) and how Pocket God included a Doodle Jump minigame. Also, I think it is pretty obvious that the new minigame style has greatly affected Pocket God's ratings and brought it back into the "top ten," or the very good apps. I definitely like the new style of Pocket God. It makes it more fun and it appeals to a larger audience. AMAZING. Pocket God is a great game. The developers earlier said they would raise the price to two dollars. However, Pocket God began to slip down the charts because of a long delay in the weekly update (caused by Apple's approval process). To keep business going, the developers did not raise the price. That (and the new update) brought the game back up. The developers have said that they are now spending more time making higher quality updates. This certainly isn't as exciting as a weekly update, but it makes a much better game. This "game" is technically not a game. It certainly doesn't belong in amy existing genre. Because of this, it is placed in the "Entertainment" section. For all intensive purposes, I think Pocket God qualifies as a game. This game does what the developer's description says. It allows to kill (or feed) the "Oogs" in any number of ways. A few are: flick them into a volcano, call on a Tyrannosaurus Rex to eat them, drown them, drop a boulder on them, and turn one into a vampire (who drowns the others). You can have six Oogs on one of the islands at a time. You can feed them with a fish (they catch it) or half a coconut (you crack it into halves) on their heads. You can set personal bests for knocking all of the Oogs off the island in one through. You can keep track of the top ways you kill each of the six. You can name the pygmies. You also view others top kills and personal bests online. You can chat with others about the game. There are many fun things to do in this game, but it also has a downside. After you kill all the pygmies in all the different ways and do the best you can on records, etc., etc., you run out of things to do. The game becomes boring. You may not come back to it for a week. One thing saves it. --Updates-- Every two weeks or so, an update comes out, lets you do a few new things, and reminds that you own it. In summary, this game has many things to do it is well worth a dollar. However, it has little replay value. Alternatively, frequent updates bring you back to the game. Pocket God used to be an original game that focused on your interaction with the islanders and being a "God". But as of the last few updates you have turned Pocket God into a bunch of poorly made mini games based off other popular games in the app store such as "doodlejump". Please go back to focusing on giving us godly powers like the earthquake, power over the weather, ect

Doesn't work

As soon as i updated it to the most recent version, it stopped working. I tap the icon, the loading screen came up, and it went back to the ipod screen. I tried resetting the ipod, and even tried turning it off completely, but it wont load. I am running it on firmware 2.2.1 secong gen ipod touch. It is not jailbroken, so it shouldnt be that there is not enough memory to run it. Plz fix, this game was awesome!

Love pocket god but one thing I hate is that everything feels too compact. You should have some islands that have bathroom dinasour campfire and spread them out. When I play its too much on one island is fishing, campfire, dinasour, bathroom, ants. and more i just want different islands and to spread all these ideas throughout the islands. I now that you can cancel some of the ideas but it feels way to together so just please make more islands on Pocket God..... P.G RULES

Usually I just download the free apps. But I discovered this app on my friends phone so I bought it for myself. I love love love it. I mean, who doesn't wanna shoot a harpoon through your algerbra teacher? But anyways, everybodys so used to getting an update every week and now that it takes more time, all you can do is complain. So stop bein' a bunch of babies. Take it like a man (or woman, which everones tougher, but it's definetly woman). I mean how many apps of yours get updated every week?yeah, reality hurts, guys. Tough. ; (

Problem

I and a couple of my friends have noticed that it is complicated to throw islanders into volcano due do the new update of the tidal wave. When trying to throw them a wave comes instead of me throwing my little dudes into a volcano. On the next update please make it so that if the volcano is turned on then you will not be able to call the tidal wave. Or some other type of way to fix this problem. Thanks a lot. In my opinion it would be cool to be able to call in a second dino and have them fight in a future update. All readers plz comment yes or no for each topic.

Mean/nice toggle

How about a nice and mean god toggle? If your in nice god mode, flicking to change the weather would make bright clouds rain and make rainbows. Mermaids swim by. Everything becomes nice and volcano erupts chocolate. Islanders can swim. In mean god mode, it'll be like what it is now. 1 action, 2 different possibilities!

I like the update...Thanks! I have some ideas for Pocket God so PLEASE at least read them and consider them. 1.Weapons:"Sticks and stones may break their bones" Yep...I would like to request a option to allow clubs and rocks to apear on the island for the islanders to fight each other with AND fight invaders...(See next idea) 2.Rival Tribes:"The Invasion" Activating this feature makes a band of rival tribsmen to come to the island armed with clubs and rocks.It is your choice to let the invaders take over the island or help your islanders win by giving them weapons and fighting the invaders yourself. I ask again for you to read and consider these ideas. Keep it up on the updates!

Dont Listen to the others on "I waited 2 Weeks for this" The update is great, its nice that you brought back the cloud moving action, And the Menu Selection is great. I have one suggestion for the magnefying glass though, If you remove the magnifying glass while the Islander is on fire, it would be cool if he stayed on fire and ran to the edge of the Island into the water, and it would be cool to pick him up while he is on fire, and smoke raising from him.

Make More Like a Game

Pocket God is fun, but I would love to see it evolve into more of an interactive game type app. The little guys could just be living on the island as you interacted with them, maybe adding some good things you could do for them too. And if you did something nice to them, like give them food or make it rain a little, they would start praying or build a church or something. If you are too mean, they might create an idol to worship, etc.

Developers, here are some of my ideas also. •Ways that the villagers can interact with each other and show emotions, like through thought bubbles "not just opening their mouth when picking them up" •Bigger island and other islands that they can explore and gain things from, maybe to help them survive or to fight each other with "like being able to make spears or other things" •Different kinds of animals or other people that they can choose to be friendly or hostile towards, they are right when they say that a lot of games are about war and fighting. •Some other ways to kill and control them. Like storms, starvation, fire, about anything that can be used against them. I mean you are their god "good or not" That's all I can think of right now but everyone is right! After about 30 sec this app gets old so hopefully updates are coming soon. Best of luck guys

First of all it needs an info button to tell you how to use certain powers. It also needs things like fire, hail, change temperature, lightning, spawn dangerous animals, etc. When it has that I'll give it 5 stars

Good idea

Great idea here. Can't wait for the update. Might I suggest rewarding our little islanders for good behaviour? Perhaps I don't want to be a vengeful god. Maybe a dog treat or something of the sort would be funny. Or a trip to the nearby island salon. Interaction between the islanders and me and the islander would be nice. I want him to beg for mercy, or thank me. How about wives and children for our little men? And little spears that try and poke our fingers. New things and several things that make the game exciting and fun to play would be nice. Maybe we could earn money by doing something and buy either torture devices or beds and houses for our islanders. Plus, of course, a bigger island and more islanders. Thanks.

First off I love the idea. But picking up the islander is a little bit stiff, smooth it out a little. Next add ways to pick on the islanders! Lightning freak storms, alien attacks. Make me feel like an all powerful god, right now I feel like an evil mom. Birthing out kids only to have them meet pain.. Allow the villagers to grow, cities, homes etc, only to have start all over when there hateful god sends a hurricane there way! I expect great things from this app!

I think this is one of the most creative apps on the market, love the concept! I know there us much to come but here is my input 1)u say are we can be a nice god or bad but there is nothing nice we are able to do, only torture mayb u can add food to give to them to b nice 2) they should b able to fight each other 3) create multiple islands because messing around with this app gets pretty boring on that small island 3) obviously lightning and rain 4) we should b able to give them a hut but at the same time b able to destroy it with lightning or hurricanes 4) add sharks if alot of good updates come i will love this, it would have great replay value. Hopefully there is gonna b tons of more updates. All in all this app has great potential!

This game is so hilarious! Some suggestions though When you pick up and islander, have it so you can hit other islanders with the one you are holding. Like it says, make more natural disasters. Some more sea creatures to eat them. Meteorites? Ships from afar that you can sink. Multiple islands which have wars and you help who wins. Have them evolve. Make huts, go fishing, build fires, stuff like that. Make villages which you can destroy Bigger island and girl and boy villagers. New update is kinda cool, but the vampire should look more like a vampire. Gray skin... Also, make him bite islanders, or have it pick him up and throw. It looks bad the way he just knocks them off. But I hate being a weak god! I would love to strike them down with lightning. Perhaps using multi tap. Touch the clouds and a person and lightning strikes. Hey I would even like to defend them against sea monsters occasionaly. And when I kill one of them shouldn't the others get down and pray?

Good concept, but needs more features and you should be able to design islands. Maybe picking up two charecters at once? Dropping a charecter onto another charecter? Creating a lion or other animal, or making two charecters fight?

This app serves a purpose. I bought it because of all the hype, and I have to say, for $.99, it's worth it. If it was like, $5.99, we'd have a problem, but for the amount of free updates and new creative features they're always adding on, a dollar is A FAIR AMOUNT TO PAY, so stop bitching, consumers. That being said, yes, okay, it gets boring. If you try to play it for hours, you'll burn out on it. But the fact is, this app is not meant to be played like role playing or strategy apps. It's meant to be a five minute ego boost that's most effectively played when you're bored and stressed and feeling powerless in your own life. It serves its purpose well because it allows you to play God to a more unfortunate people than you. For the love of your god do not save them; this is about taking out frustration, not keeping them alive!! They aren't nanopets or digipets or whatever, they are an infinant disposable commonity!
