Having used another one of the Modality products previously, I was excited to try out Pocket Medical Spanish. I am very impressed by its organization, ease-of-use, and high production quality.

the sound quality is actually pretty good. you just have to increase the volume on the phone with the side buttons. This is very helpful since it gives you the pronounciation. The terms can be selected by categories or specialty, H&P questions, etc. There is also a index with a large number of wolrds in an alphabetical order for translation. there are colors, numbers, calender, pain picture, to which the patient can point to answer the questions.

This is definitely a great App. I haven't yet had a chance to use it on the wards, but I've been fiddling around with it and it definitely has a lot of the key phrases that you'd use to communicate with a Spanish speaking patient. It's been years since I've used Spanish so this is very handy.

the audio makes using this app a breeze to a nonspanish speaker when trying to communicate quickly and efficiently. thanks for the nice multimedia combo.

My not-so-proficient Spanish has benefited from this app's helpful features. Just familiarizing myself with the more common medical questions has boosted my speaking confidence in the clinical nursing setting, and the audio file is great for clarifying questions of pronunciation. I especially like all of the tools that come with the app (if you touch the "Tools" icon in the upper right hand corner); for example, the faces of the pain scale. The glossary is also quite useful, particularly the body parts section for those times when you can't remember the Spanish word for "elbow" or "bladder." Best of all, it is straightforward and easy to use. I definitely feel better having this resource in my pocket!

I manage a dialysis clinic in an area with a high Hispanic population. Unfortunately none of my staff is bilingual. It is not easy to provide a translator on a daily basis. This app comes to our rescue everyday. This app would be five stars if the volume could be increased. I can hardly hear it on my iPhone 3G. Thanks do much!

I have tried multiple Spanish apps and this is the best by far. Good variety of phrases with audio available for help with pronunciation. The phrases are organized in a way that makes them easily accessible. I highly recommend this program.

marginal at best more geared toward emergency medicine Med Spanish is better and cost less. this one is definitly not worth the money.

I would rate this app higher if it had audio and bookmark on: Glossary and Index fields. I expected more from this app. Not worth $19.99 at this time.
