Very nice and intuitive interface to learn and play tabla. My kids would love to play this.

Pocket Tabla is a fun app. that is very easy to play with. It does not a power drain and great exercise for the fingers!

This is my ONLY regretable app purchase so far! The samples are awful, clicks and pops etc. The playablility is sooo poor compared to other iPhone instruments. It's truly the worst instrument app yet. The good reviews on here are CLEARLY the developer or his friends. OMG, just noticed the wording on one of the reviews is the same as the developers site! Keep tooting your own horn! This needs a ton of work to make this app worth a buck. Bigger playing area, clean samples, etc. Trust me avoid this like the plague!

What a treat! I wish this was out sooner. I could have saved the $20 I spent on a book to learn tabla. The important parts were covered in the helpful tutorial included in this $0.99 app. I had to write this review on my Mac since my 2-year old is playing tabla on my iPhone and won't give it back.

I have a set of Tablas and thought that the iPhone version would be realistic. The only sound that the Dhayan has that sounds like the real thing is Tin. The Bhayan sounds like a snare drum. I hope that the update fixes this because in the existing form, this app is total JUNK. The Bols are rather limited also. This app should be call Garbage Pail Tabla, LITE. This is the worst drum app on iTunes. Do not buy in its current version.

It's a well done application. Quite intuitive and I liked the way tutorials are presented. Hoping to see more Indian instruments coming up!

You get what you pay for in this app... I was pretty excited to download this app but after playing with it for about 30 seconds i see that you really cant do much of anything with them. the sounds really aren't too true to the instrument. A big reason why you cannot really do much is that Tabla playing deals with rhythms and wrist pressure on the drum heads so the ability to get realistic or decent sound is pretty out of the question. A positive is tho that the instruction on the explaination of the bols (mnemonic symbols for the notes played) and how to combine them. save the dollar for a real set of Tablas.
