Finally!!!
23lbs 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Finally, someone has developed a baseball scoring application for the iPhone! Scoring baseball games is one of my favorite hobbies, and the iPhone is one of my favorite toys - these two go together like peanut butter and chocolate. Seriously though, while most of my experience with scoring has been on paper, I have experimented a bit with an earlier version of the K-ForCE PC edition. The interface is well laid out and intuitive, and it is apparent that the developers have done quite a good job of honing the product over the years. I have yet to try all of the features available on the iPhone edition, but so far I am quite impressed with the quality and ease of use. I particularly appreciate the fact that MLB rosters for 2008 and 2009 come pre-loaded with the application, and I hope that the developers continue to update these via regular patches. Now all I can hope for is that my iPhone battery will last for nine innings!
A Must Have for Coaches and Fans
Jeremoney 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I am an avid baseball fan, and a baseball coach as well, and this app is a MUST have! This application allows you to score a baseball game, and then (with a required PC application) save your stats, publish them to a website if desired, and it gives you detailed analysis.
Great scoring app - very intuitive
SJU87 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
As someone new to scoring, I found the app to be very intuitive. I was up and scoring games very quickly and am impressed with how comprehensive the selections are. It even makes it easy to back up and fix mistakes in scoring. I was delighted to find that the entire 2009 major league rosters are already populated so I don't have to enter them by hand. UPDATE: I've been using Pointstreak for a couple weeks now to score some spring training games and have continued to be impressed with additional discoveries of functionality. It booted me out to the home screen once, something I attribute to lost memory from other apps, because after a restart, I haven't had any issues while scoring entire games since. The graphics are beautiful and it is a great pleasure to be able to look at an entire completed scorecard for each team and zoom in and out by pinching, although viewing the whole card is quite legible (probably more attributable to the engineers at Apple, but still awesome application of the tools by Pointstreak). As a new scorer, it is also helpful that the app checks for possible errors when you finalize a game. There is a great video tutorial available at their website (MPEG-4) format so you can watch it on your iPhone and learn about all the capabilities. Can't wait to see what they do with the iPhone 3.0 capabilities!
Great version 1.0 product but needs work
cygnus-x1 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is one of the apps I've been waiting for since I bought my 2G iPhone. I used Scorepad Baseball my old Palm OS device, and it is my point of reference. Unlike Scorepad, it is impossible to graphically show where a ball is hit. Scorepad was much more intuitive about advancing runners already on base. Scorepad also allowed substitutions of players (pitchers, fielders, and batters) without having to go back to leave the "at bat" view. Therefore, I give Pointstreat K-forCE 4 stars.
This is a great application
krakatax 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I am not new to the KforCE world and thought that I would have problems making the transition from the old to the new. Not anymore though, KforCE makes the iPhone/iTouch nearly perfect for any baseball fan. It is easy to use, simple to fix any mistakes that I make while scoring, and the layout is very well thought out. This works well from Little League thru Major League Baseball, it keeps pitch count, and with the PC software it calculates nearly every stat you could think of. This is the best software for keeping the book that is available, who needs paper...
Best sports app ever!
longtime Dodger Fan 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is the best sports app ever! It is easy to use, intuitive and has enough intelligence built into it to handle even the most bizarre plays.
Works good
Jr81496 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
Good but needs season stats! For the price it should have it
This is the one!
georgiaboy100 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I looked at all the other scorecard apps and saw some poor reviews. Now I know why! Pointstreak has done it right. I scored the season opener with the Braves and Phillies with very little effort. It had almost every player in it's database...I just had to add 4 players to it. I was concerned at first that I'd have to add every player, but thank God that wasn't the case! Creating the line up wasn't too time consuming and, after a couple of mistakes, it became easy to configure. The thing I thought would be the biggest pain turned out to be very easy, and that's adding pinch hitters and relief pitchers. It handled everything beautifully...instantly keeping track of new pitchers and hitters once they came into the game. Having said that, last night's game was an easy one to score...so, hopefully, I'll get a more taxing game soon! Until then, no more bringing paper and pencil to the ball park!
Awesome!
jmeulemans 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app rocks! Finally, a scorecard that's easy to use, accurate, and most important, easy to change on the fly.
Excellent
Avalanchis 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This application makes it incredibly easy to score games. The interface is awesome! Easy and intuitive, I was very pleased at how quickly I was able to begin using it. Try it out and see for yourself what a great program this is!
It's here at last.
Former PPC User 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I'd been using the PPC predecessor for years and since moving to the iPod that was one app I really missed. With the MLB 2009 season about to start I thought I was going to miss it more. I won't. The version for the iPod is much better, even at V1! It already had the MLB 2009 lineup! Now if Steve will finally give in on the backward K strikeout! If you score games either school or pro, this is the app to get to get.
Finally!
RMB1 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Finally a scoring app for iphone! Nice app, very full featured. Stats and scoresheet instantly! I use it to score every little league game my son plays in and it lets me keep detailed track of the action while coaching in the dugout... Looking forward to improvements in next version, like hit location, but this is great.
App is great!
Tars baseball 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
My only problem is the iPhone is to small to take full advantage. I think I'll upgrade to the Pc version and use a new tablet netbook.
Nice baseball scoring app
butchchq8 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I just bought this app tonight, and in 10 minutes, I was scoring an MLB pre-season game. It is one sweet app, if you are like to score baseball games, and very intuitive if you have done so before. If not, well, it's not going to be simple for you to use right off as there isn't a help on how to score games, just in using the app. Some reviewers have said it needs a little work and there are a couple of spots where it is true. It shut down on me once and I lost everything to that point, but it hasn't done so again. If you leave the player # blank, it uses (-1) as the number and then seems to get lost as to what is going on with that player. One reviewer already mentioned that an accidental touch of the MISC screen has no back button which I found out the hard way as well. Other than these minor details, it's a pretty simple app to use, spot on, and incredibly complete. It just needs a little tweaking, so I give it 4-stars.
Good Start
azentropy 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
Glad to see a professional level product at a good price. For the most part nput is intuitive, but gets complex at times. I'm probably still learning all the tickets. It is a bit buggy as it seems to forget sometimes where it is in the order, seen problems with it calculating Pitcher info, and the Tools->Send does not work for me. Looking forward to bug fixes and updates!
thank you, but needs an update
rsox2009 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
Thrilled to have this app. But, it needs work:
Best app to score baseball games
sallred 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I have been scoring and managing stats for my son's baseball team for a few years. I have been looking for an application to make that process much easier. I found it last year with K-ForCE for windows mobile, but now it is even better with the iPhone version. This is a fantastic app!!!
Yes, we have a baseball scoring app....
mynew3g 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Great application and very easy to use. Have been waiting for this since the iPhone came out. If there was one thing that I'd like to see worked on is the Undo feature. Having undo is great but the problem is you sometimes don't know what you are undoing and I've run into occasions where I've screwed up the scoring because I've undoed too much or not enough.. It would be nice if you could see/preview what the undo will do before you do it because trying to fix an undo mistake while a game is in progress is a little difficult... Otherwise thanks for porting/writing this to the iPhone...
Baseball Scoring Application Comes to the iPhone
Tackdaddy 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
K-ForCE is the fist full-featured baseball scoring application for the iPhone. While it shows a lack of polish due to certainly being a 1.0 product, it shows tremendous potential. Games are quick to set up. Plays are easy to score. The baserunner movement could be a bit more intuitive. While the app allows for an outstanding about of "undo" ability, there are times that I was lost in exactly how to fix mistakes made in scoring.
Very good
Banana Man14 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Was looking for a program to keep score and track stats. Only thing I can think of right now is a spray chart for hitting and a way to track season stats. Would also like to go back and change errors ie batter hits ball and score an E6 but latter after talking with coaches decide to change to hit. Other wise awesome app.
Great product
Bn30 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
This product is great! Wish it kept season stars, but if you're looking for a simple way to track a ball game this is it.
Rip Off but Good!
I.D.G.A.R.A. 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
A program I was waiting for but obviously a rip off at the $19.99 release price since they dropped it by 1/2 a week later! I should at least have gotten a kiss if you know what I mean.
Worth the price and then some
Dr Svensk 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is so obviously a program written by someone who not only loves the game, but who understands and appreciates its complexity. No, take that a step further - by someone who understands the even more daunting task of CAPTURING the complexity in a scoresheet that records what happened and does it in a way where a reader can see the game come alive by looking at the record. The easy part is what happens 80% of the time - the routine 6-3 or F9 or single to center. What's not so easy is capturing all the other rich and endearing oddball circumstances in some quick, understandable way. And that's where this program shines. It has a level of available detail that even lets you quickly and easily tap in uncommon plays like a batter being awarded first because the catcher got his mitt in the way - leading to an obstruction call. At the same time, the routine stuff is simple and graphic in this program. And scoring errors are correctable.
Great scoring app
BaylorMom 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I used others with disappontment until I saw this one. Bought it and never looked back. Been scoring little league team play primarily to track my sons improvement. I have never scores baseball before and this tool was what I used to learn the prices of scoring. I had a few newbie issues nut overall it is a great program and Steve is very responsive with the questions on the message board. It is the only complete scoring application on the iPhone for both defensive and offensive stats I can tell. Only 4 stars as it does not have season stats and hitting location. But there is really none out there like it.
Very thorough on the scoring end, completely useless after that.
SeamusD 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.90414
K-Force has just about everything you'd need to score the game on your iphone/iPod touch. The interface could be better, but there is a lot there. However, when you want to see the results your SOL if your a Mac user. And the desciption in the store says it has all these great features like printing and loading stats to your web site, but it doesn't mention that you have to buy their software to do it (which is PC only). It does say on the site that if you are a Mac user you can get a subscription to a really lame stats site. Again completely usless. Finally, it crashed about 5 times during a single game. Not very good when your keeping track of pitch count. Maybe in 2.0.
mc
sooner great 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
great app for the baseball junkie. i bought it to keep up with sons little league. i want to only keep my team stats. would be great if it had an automatic opponent. great if we could pick home and away just before game started not have to know as i am making my line up. wish you used the phones touch screen to track ball
k-force vs. iscore
Geralddaman 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.90421
I'm the baseball coach for both of my sons' baseball teams and I wanted an iphone app to do what I would traditionally do with a pencil and scorebook. I bought both and my preference would be k-force except for that fact that you would have to buy the PC app to do anything useful. At least with iscore, you can send yourself the stats and scorecard then cut and paste it to a web page to make them available to your team. With k-force, I would have to parse the xml file and do some homebrew programming. Also, unlike iscore, it doesn't keep stats over the season. For now, I'm using iscore.
Pretty good but not for mac users
shhQuiet 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.90421
A decent scoring app, but you'll have to look at the stats on your phone. The desktop app is not available for Mac.
I DON'T LIKE PAYING FOR MORE SOFTWARE!!!
Astros Fan 02 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.90414
I REALLY do not like spending $10 on an application for a cell phone. But it's cool. I bought it and played with it. Quite frankly, it's freakin' awesome. I simulated a game and sent it to my e-mail. I was very excited to see all the things I could look at and print on my computer but wait, THERE'S A CATCH! You have to buy the PC version just to see the stuff from your phone, on your PC! Not even a little scorecard with all of your markings or anything. I'M NOT PAYING ANOTHER $50 JUST TO MAKE FULL USE OF THIS APP!
A Must Have for Coaches and Fans
Jeremoney 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.90511
With the new updates this application is truly a must have! The addition of the spray chart, being able to accumulate season statistics, print out pdf score sheets all make this application incredible.
This is the update everyone has waited for
SeanC1981 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.90511
I have been using this software for the past 2-3 versions. I have been very pleased with not only the product, but the software programmers responsiveness to my emails. I have both a mac and a pc, so the lack of viewer for the mac has not affected me like some. This version however answers many of the concerns some users have had like multiple export formats (including pdf, html and mac friendly data for importing into spreadsheets).
Easy for a Beginner
jmfreiling 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.90511
I'm a beginner both to the iTouch and to scoring, but I've got a daughter for whom I want to start tracking stats. I'm finding this program easy to use, and the developer extremely responsive when I have a question. I've already learned a lot with the old version and am looking forward to the new features in this version. I highly recommend this app for anyone.
