Ngmoco’s 3D tower defense game, and the first of the games to use their Plus+ network. One of Konami's first App Store releases, Frogger [App Store] for the iPhone is available for more than 80% off August 20th (today) through the 22nd. The game is an adaptation of the studio's 1981 arcade original featuring updated graphics, an updated soundtrack, and a choice of touchscreen or accelerometer controls–or both combined. I used to love Pole Position as a kid on my Atari 2600 and in the arcade. This version is a disappointment because the tilt controls just don't seem to be as responsive as they need to be. There's no way to make quality turns, and that takes away the fun.

Too bad it won't work on my iPod.....every time I pressed the icon for the game it would seem to open, and then it would close again....after doing that 3 times and restarting my iPod in an effort to play the game...it still wouldn't open...Whatever.... it wasn't like I paid for it. I give credit to Namco for supporting the iPhone/iPod Touch and I hope to see some good titles from them...but Pole Position: Remix isn't one of those titles. The full version of the game is priced the in the same bracket as Ferrari GT, Asphalt and Fastlane Street Racing (I bought them all - and all are far superior in every department) - there's no way this will sell in any great amount at that price.

This game was cutting edge in it's time. The realism was at a new level. Since then many games have surpassed this. If nameco wants to make $ with old games bring back games with good playability such as digdug. I would pay for digdug. This was novel. I did the one lap on the free version and deleted it after one play. This was never a "good game" it was cutting edge but that was then. Pong was cutting edge and would probably be more fun due to playability not just cool graphics that are no longer cool. Bring back the old good games not the ones that once looked good.

Can't open this app. Shuts down after title screen. And what's up with all the new top games saying "not compatible with this iPod?" when i try to download on my 2nd gen iPod. Anyone else having this problem?

Game was good, but it hi-jacked my IPod. When I tried to quit, it would let me go to my music, but it wouldn't quit the app or let me go onto another app. Had to re-sync my iPod to clear it. Very bad glitch.
