Jul 13 iPhone News   7:44 am      (0) Comments While you’re on holiday, have you ever been wanted to send your friend or family a picture or postcard from your iPhone? I mean, a real, physical postcard or printed photo. An on-demand printing company, Amazing Mail, which has integrated two iPhone apps, Postino (free) and PicCard (99 cents) into its service, will print your cards on high-quality paper, and send them worldwide. Both offer the ability to print and send physical copies of photographs taken on your iPhone, priced at between 99 cents and $1.99, depending on where you’re shipping to… Postino is a good example of how the service can work. You snap a picture with the iPhone camera, select a frame, draw an accompanying message or signature, and enter the address details of the recipient. The app can also send cards via email, if you’d prefer not to pay Read More

Great user interface. Simple and to the point. Just works.

I have been looking for a good "postcard" app and Postino is a well thought out program. I have just used the email feature but I am sure the physical postcard feature is world class also. Everything works like clockwork and is very easy to use. Can't wait to have this on vacation. Check it out yourself, it works great!
Great Great Great
Josh with an opinion for everything! 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Very easy to use. VERY useful. It's free (right now), so try it out for peet sake!
Fun app
scubarider 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Obviously Jeez/Steve-dogg didn't read the description. It costs nothing to send an e-card. It only costs for the printing and postage if you choose to have the company send a real post card. That said, this app is fun and very easy to use. The frames are nice and the interface is user friendly. It's fun to sign your name using your finger although you have to have a steady finger. Kudos to the developers.
Great product

When travelling I always want to send postcards. Now with this I won't have to waste time looking for postcards and I can include myself on the postcard. I don't send out a lot of postcards so I'll be happy to pay for the privelege. Great program. Thanks
Great interface

Well, the jury is out. There are a few postcard apps out there... But which one to get. Right away I could see that this one is the easiest to use. Clean interface. Used paypal (for sending real postcards). No account to set up online. I sent my first card to a friend in California. Waiting on postcard quality to keep rating at 5 stars.
Cool
Steve-dogg 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is an interesting app. Rather than sending e-cards, this app enables you to desgin a full-quality postcard, which they print and send for you. A very unique concept and it only costs 2 dollars to try.
A useful and convenient tool

Postino works well and the developers provide great customer service! Explore the app fully for more options. Saves time when you need to send a brief communication.
SPECTACULAR!!!
LoCache 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I waited until my first postcard arrived, today, to post this. The truly great apps should, in my opinion, be simple, affordable and fill a need. This app does all of those for me. The software is simple and slick. The postcards are top quality. But, best of all, this solves a huge hassle for me! I LOVE THIS APP! Ability to buy stamps through web site and faster delivery would be the only things I could possibly suggest to make it even better!!!
It Works! Great App!
Chacanuga 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
Slick design and simple interface.
Greeeeat!
SuperDuper82 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
This app is pure genius! And it works great too. I just got the sample postcard I sent to myself in a few days, and it's very cool indeed! Suggested to everybody!
Very cool!
rodlebod 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
Exceeded my expectations. The card is very high quality. I wish it had a "preview" option.
I was prepared to give this a five star rating. but ....
sd45 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
Until I did not get a response to my second email to Postino. My test postcard was not delivered, even though Postino indicated success. With the latest upgrade, comes the admission that there was difficulty in sending postcards and bugs were fixed. So, I asked for a $2.00 credit for the lost postcard. Instead, the Post Office was indicted for failure to deliver. I tend to think that the self-disclosed bug fixes had more to do with the issue. And I would have appreciated the courtesy of a response.
Outrageously Priced!!
claidheamdanns 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
So, even if you buy 5 "stamps" at a time, it's $1.60 per postcard. And a single "stamp" is $2.00. That's ridiculous! Another case where I wish Apple would allow a zero star rating.
Good App, but....
DinoJr2 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
does what it says it will, the physical postcards are high quality. But they don't tell you how many characters or words you can use in the text of your letter. So it cuts off the postcard text randomly and you have no warning AT ALL. Should have a big WARNING - DON'T WRITE TOO MUCH on it. You'd think it could force you to stop at XX characters, like Twitter and tons of other websites, but no.
The best of the lot by a mile!
relewis1 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I really like the post card idea but wanted to test several before sending them to friends and family. Interfaces varied between the apps with some features I liked and disliked on each. I liked Postino's app and tried it among the four I tested. It would be nice if it had a preview feature but overall the feature set is great. It allows for a real life signature which is a nice touch. The lack of the preview does not show that it will indeed show in the lower right. Why a five star then? It literally blows away the competition with the quality product. Heavy duty postcards with glossy finish on both sides which makes it hold up much better in the mail. The other three companies were ok. I did order two from each to be fair because the mail system can mangle cards and half of the cards came with edges messed up and some of the pictures rubbed off. If you are looking for quality you just found it.
Never received the email
WASGuru 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.3
I've tried this app several times and I've never received the email post card. I get no errors, I hear the mail sent sound from the phone and the status says successful but the mail never arrives. I have no idea about the physical card because there is no way I would spend money if they cant even deliver an email
marketing trick
xtrl 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.3
since when do customers have to pay for the companies marketing? I sent a card to my friend, and there was a huge Postino branding on the card. Did I pay 1.50$ so that you can spread the word about your company?
Very cool!
rodlebod 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.3
Exceeded my expectations. The card is very high quality.
Emailed PostCards Never Arrived
JudieKaren 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.3
I gave Postino one star for a great idea, but if an app doesn't perform it's most basic function then it is useless to me, even when "FREE". I emailed a postcard to my daughter and one to myself and a day and a half later they still haven't arrived. The app itself told me the email was successful after I pushed send. Guess it was wrong.
Happy with everything but photo quality
NewportGTI 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I sent a good, bright iPhone photo that showed up very dark and grainy on the postcards. One advantage they don't talk about is that cards sent from overseas can actually arrive before you return home. Will give them another shot but will also try some of the other similar services.
Works great!
Steph669 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.4
I am away grom my husband a lot, and wanted a different way to show him that im thinking of him. This app is amazing. Ive sent him three cards already, and he loves it! I tried three different apps for this idea, and Postino was by far the best. I've now mailed out three post cards, and they all got to their destinations in a timely manner. (it takes several days, one took a week... But it is snail mail after all.). :) Postino is one of the only apps where you can size & position your pic, and add different borders and what-not too. OF COURSE you have to pay for the post cards to be mailed! Why wouldn't you? The postcards are very high quality, and there is postage involve. However, for a CUSTOM postcard & postage, the cost us very minimal. I was very impressed. I highly recommend this app!!
Poor quality print, and not really a postcard.
Elliot Rosewater 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.4
The idea is nice, the UI is OK if a bit clunky, but to me the big question was the quality of the physical postcards. Mine arrived with the photo not centered on the card, a band of unexposed white down one side, and part of my photo missing on the other side. A smaller point: the card is glossy on both sides; not a big deal, but it's not a postcard, its a photo that has been sent through the mail. The inability to center the photo on the card shows a lack of care that means that I will be looking for another postcard app. Postino, you are dead to me.
