The top gadgets at Macworld | iWorld 2012

Macworld | iWorld had some fantastic products. Ignoring anything that wasn’t actually shipping, since so many products never actually make it to market or do make it, but years behind schedule (Nighthawk anyone?), here are my top picks from the show. I was amazed as to how quickly I fell in love with the Flygrip’s simplicity of design and elegance It’s a clip that sticks on the back of an existing iPhone case, or Flygrip’s custom case. While it adds some bulk to the back of the case, it actually isn’t annoying. Quite the opposite. Fully retracted, it allows you too hold your iPhone securely with your ring and forefinger, leaving the rest of your hand able to type. Being able to text and tweet easily on the go made me a believer out of me. Not only does it make the iPhone easier to hold, but the Flygrip can also Read More
Great Apps for College Students
Calendar16 Mon, 12 Sep 2011 17:30:48 UTC +00:00
By Bonnie Eisenman on September 12th, 2011 As a college student, my iPod goes with me everywhere. Here are some apps sure to help any college student with their busy life. From textbook apps to alarm clocks, iPhones and iPads can change the way students live and study. iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads abound on college campuses, and for good reason. iOS devices are great anyway, but for college students, there are myriad ways in which an iOS device can make life easier. When it comes to studying textbooks, taking notes in lecture, or even waking up to start the day—chances are there’s an app for that. There are far too many useful apps to count, but here I’d like to list just a few apps sure to help college students manage their busy lives. Textbooks Paper textbooks may still be king, but e-readers are increasingly creating a presence in college Read More

fantastic app

the capability to print email attachments is very useful. it is the only one application that allows me to print directly from my iPad. I would like to see "manual borders" option while printing a document and I expect that the company will add this feature. It would be very useful for me while printing JPEG files. Also I would like to mention that Printer Pro worked without any bugs that is quite pleasant for me. Just few days ago bought some applications that were extremely buggy. So, I gave 5 stars for Printer Pro!!
Wow

My printer is not supported by apple airprint. So i thought i will be never able to print my documents from Pages. I was able to print my documents from Pages by using Printer Pro. Outstanding.
Thank you!

Worked like a charm! I was able to print with my HP printer via Printer Pro Desktop without any problems. Also it is very useful while printing web pages from Safari. Great!!!
Awesome
AJipad2 4.0 stars Version: 1.5
I tested, and read though reviews of so many print utilities, this one just felt right, no in app "gotchas", and both at work and home, it "just worked". Printer Pro found the wired bonjour printers at work and my wireless HP at home, all accessible via WiFi on my iPad2. Thanks :)
worked!

Printed from iWork easily in 2 step via Send By Email and 'Open In' options. Apple created AirPrint in iWork, its useless because only few printers support it. So far, I enjoyed Printer Pro - it is easy and fast!
It works!

Thanks for providing the "Lite" version to test. The Canon MP560 printer is wireless, but nevertheless I needed the extra download to my desktop to make it work. I was able to work through the kinks prior to buying this App. While not as seamless as AirPrint may be, at least I can continue to use my current printer without too much fiddling.
Wow

Works at home and office network

It works! Via their Printer Pro App I was able to confirm that Printer Pro would work on my wireless home printer. However, I ran into a couple problems printing on any of my office networked printers. A couple of quickly answered emails from their customer service reps soon resolved my problem. Note: I use a PC at the office, connected to Brother and HP networked printers. Downloading free Printer Pro Desktop and Bonjour programs on my PC was all I needed to enable my iPad 2 to print.
Best!

This app is simply the greatest yet!
Works on a IBM 4019 laserjet running Windows XP
luger carbine 5.0 stars Version: 1.5
I tried the free app, needed some support, which was excellent. I needed to download PowerPro for my PC, installed it and the free app worked. The thing you need to do once installed on the PC, is do a hard reboot of the IPad 2 (fully turn off the power and turn it back on) and it found my printer. Elena who provided support was excellent, gave me clear and well documented instructions - one more piece interfacing between the IPad 2 and Windows XP (home)
V2.0 not working
drnoe 1.0 stars Version: 2.0
I installed Printer Pro for the iPad as soon as it became available and it worked fine--$6.99 well spent. Today I updated to V2.0 and it no longer works at all. The app loads and appears to send documents to the printer, but nothing comes out the other end. The "upgrade" is broken.
Printer Pro Desktop Helper software
TomnTN 4.0 stars Version: 2.0
The software works just like it claims. I had to reboot the PC and the IPAD before it would work. The learning curve is moderate. The address format could be better. It would be helpful if the addresses were listed in the same alphabetical format as in Contacts. Also it would be nice if you could clear the clipboard after printing to insure privacy.
V2.0 not working - UPDATED

I installed Printer Pro for the iPad as soon as it became available and it worked fine--$6.99 well spent. Today I updated to V2.0 and it no longer works at all. The app loads and appears to send documents to the printer, but nothing comes out the other end. The "upgrade" is broken.UPDATE: Thanks to excellent customer service, I now have V2.0 working properly again and have changed my rating to 5*. Rebooting both my iPad and iMac and clearing the printer queue apparently set things straight.
