4 tips (and a hack) to make your iPad work-worthy
Calendar16 Thu, 16 Jun 2011 00:00:47 UTC +00:00
Reading Darrell’s recent post 7 iPad Habits of Highly Effective Remote Workers prompted me to look more closely at how I can really do work on my iPad. I have to admit, I’m still not convinced that the iPad will be my laptop replacement. However, with the help of the Apple wireless keyboard and some other peripherals and apps, it can come close. Here are some tips to make your iPad work-worthy. 1. Make audio calls via VoiP. Audio calls via Skype on the iPad work like a dream. Just plug in the earbuds that you usually use for your iPhone, fire up the Skype app and make your audio calls. There are other VoiP apps that will work on the iPad without charging fees, such as Viber, but they require that the other person also has the same software on her device. You can even use Google Voice on the iPad,  albeit Read More

Tilt To Live’s $0.99 Procrastination Sale
Calendar16 Sat, 20 Mar 2010 18:37:18 UTC +00:00
You could call it a temporary price drop instead of a procrastination sale (which ends whenever they remember to end it), but that would be far too boring — and the developers over at One Man Left are really anything but boring. Tilt to Live has become one of my favourite iPhone games (definitely beating out Minigore for play time), and you can currently pick it up for 50% off of its usual $1.99 asking price. The game is also scheduled to see some new game modes this April (news via TouchArcade), with the promise of even more modes and weapons in future updates. So go lift the cushions in your couches and check all of the pockets in your winter clothes before you put them away and use that extra moolah to buy yourself a super cheap copy of Tilt to Live [iTunes link]. Review: Moon Drop for the iPhone
Calendar16 Fri, 19 Mar 2010 23:13:58 UTC +00:00
In Moon Drop you have one mission: Colonize the Moon!  To accomplish this mission you are in charge of landing sets of “pods” safely on the moon.  The controls are simple: you touch the screen to slow down or change the direction of the the landing pods.  So by touching under the pods this will thrust them straight up and touching the sides will effect their flying direction. The pods have green indicator lights that change to red to warn you of a pending disaster. During gameplay there are two indicators located on the top of your display. The “POP” is your current score.  The scoring system is broken down into three categories: pods landed, target bonus, and group bonus. Also represented are three astronauts which are the number of lives you have during gameplay. The game starts out nice and easy, but, as you progress, the difficulty level increases.  As the wave numbers increase, the game Read More
Review: Griffin + threadless Funkalicious case for iPhone
Calendar16 Fri, 19 Mar 2010 18:30:49 UTC +00:00
[The atlas has nothing to do with the case -- it just made a nice, almost lunar background] The folks at Griffin weren’t kidding about this case: I’ve looked at it from every angle and I haven’t seen a single thread anywhere. I don’t know how they did it. All I see is an ultra thin, matted plastic plate with an astronaut holding a boombox, presumably made by some design company somewhere. It would look great on a t-shirt [Click on any of the pictures to see a larger view] It’s funky, it’s delicious Thinking about the Funkalicious iPhone case as a designer Tee is actually a perfect fit: it ‘s something that ‘s supposed to look and feel good, and provide minimal protection should you decide to lie down on something sharp (but not too sharp). Threadless probably put it best when they described the case as a “snap-on shell Read More

Create Textual Email by Voice on iPhone for $0.99
Calendar16 Thu, 03 Dec 2009 20:10:55 UTC +00:00
Just last week James was considering all of the ways to get text input on a tablet. But many of those approaches can or should apply to our handsets as well. So when I saw Michael Connick’s tweet and blog post on QuickVoice Pro, I had to take a look at the iPhone app. With it, you record a voice message to your iPhone and the application will create a textual e-mail from your speech. After watching the video demo, I dropped $0.99 for the app (iTunes link) — I risked the buck, so you don’t have to ;) — and gave it a try. The QuickVoice Pro interface is simple with only two buttons: Record and Play. You don’t have to send your messages to anyone, so this could double up as a personal memo recorder as well. Once you’ve completed recording your speech, you can email the actual audio file Read More
By Arron Hirst on November 5th, 2009 Retronyms releases an update to Recorder for iPhone that adds ability to actually record audio from within phone calls! There have been many recorders on the App Store since it’s debut. From nFinity’s Quick Voice to BIAS’ Pro Recorder and Polar Bear Farm’s sleek looking Record. But although they all do the job in recording background noise, spoken memos and notes, not one has introduced the one feature you’d expect, phone call recording. Today, in what could be seen as a controversial move by some, the guys at Retronyms (also the people behind the iPhone music mixing studio Dopplerpad) have done just that. They have successfully integrated the ability to record audio from a phone call, straight from within their app ‘Recorder’. The new feature comes in the form of a separate in-app purchase, and each full hour of recording will cost you $1.99. Read More

By Rene Ritchie, Sunday, Sep 6, 2009 | Every week a few of us from team TiPb, bloggers and forum crew alike, will bring you our current favorite, funnest, most useful App Store apps, WebApps, jailbreak apps, even the occasional accessory, web site, or desktop app if the mood strikes us. As long as they’re iPhone (or iPod touch) related, they’re fair game. So who’s on deck this week and what are our picks? Find out after the break! The game is a FPS in the Middle-East theater. You play a marine who is sent on numerous missions to take-out the bad guys. The frame rate is smooth and there are a few different usable control options. This game has good AI with enemies hiding and using strategy to get you. There is a promised multiplayer mode coming soon, we can only hope that it is Internet-based play. If you are Read More

Empowered by our emails, tweets, IM conversations, and blogs, we’ve become modern-day information conduits. We collect knowledge, then discharge it into the ether, spurting out a constant fountain of fact, fiction and entertainment. Quick Voice Pro is a new tool that could make sharing your thoughts even easier. The app converts audio recordings into text-based e-mails, using an online voice-recognition system. If there’s a thought on the tip of your tongue, Quick Voice Pro immediately accommodates: The app loads up in a snap and is ready to record from the off. You’re able to open the software, blurt out whatever is on your mind, and get it converted, all in a short amount of time. The layout of the app is incredibly Read More
QuickVoice PRO Recorder Has a Bonus
Calendar16 Thu, 07 May 2009 18:30:00 UTC +00:00
05.07.09        App Score: 8/10    nFinity is using QuickVoice, a voice recorder for Macs and PCs,  as a lure to nab buyers for its new  iPhone version called QuickVoice PRO Recorder. QuickVoice is usually $15.00 but it’s free with when you buy the $0.99 app. What you want is a voice recorder that delivers decent audio and does everything a virtual voice recorder can do, that much is a given. Add the ability to transfer files via iTunes, Wi-Fi or email, and you’ll move up a notch on the ladder. Now, throw in a free desktop app, and you might be on to something. That’s what QuickVoice PRO Recorder aims to do, although not as well as some apps. Shuttling your voice recordings between handheld and desktop and voice mailing them aren’t that much of a big deal. Several apps feature similar capabilities such as Griffin Tech’s iTalk Read More
There are currently tons of voice recording applications available at the App Store, so it can be extremely difficult to find the one that best suits your specific needs.  Since we can’t make the decision for you, the best we can do is offer up some intriguing options and today we came across one very intriguing option. QuickVoice Pro Recorder contains the same laundry list of features of its free little brother QuickVoice Recorder, including the ability to record, stop, and save at the touch of a single button, adjust recording qualities, flip-mode for the addition of a microphone for iPod touch users, and even the ability to email your recordings, but the big difference between the two applications is the amount of data you can send.  QuickVoice Recorder offers the ability to send up to 1MB of voice recordings via email.  QuickVoice Pro Recorder on the other hand, allows you Read More

Nice Clean App
Mr Potters 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is a great quick record a note app. When you need to record a quick note to yourself you can just go in record it and leave. Easy to find your note as soon as you open the app. You don't have to fumble threw different screens looking for notes as there all there in front of you.
Nice!
harvard1 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Pleasantly surprised at what I got for a buck. This recorder is fun and easy to use. Works great on the phone and computer.
Excellent Enhancements
Software Man 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
One of my favorite apps. By far the best recorder with the most features.
Whoa!
SweetCarolyne 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Good stuff- great features- awesome price tag.
I Like This App A Lot
HeartSongBlue 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I've been using the free version of this app and upgraded to this one for the longer email (which alone is worth the dollar to me). Overall, it's a great value: smooth, stable, nice features, desktop app - - it doesn't disappoint.
A Nice Setup.
Sidebysid 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
A lot of nice functionality for a buck. Very much worth it.
Works like it says
Allenb424u 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Well. For being a bonehead and not reading the directions I just had to come back and give it the 5 stars it deserves. Thanks for a good app.
A Nice Setup.
Sidebysid 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
A lot of nice functionality for a buck. I'm using it to record everything and I'm getting great results. Very much worth it. Btw: Allen, the bonus software is full version. It runs in trial mode until you sync your phone. Read the directions, it's not exactly difficult.
Yes, now for the Touch!
rtteachr 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Contacted support and they quickly made the adjustment for this to be TOuch compatible. Thanks! Great voice recorder for the iPod, love the email feature!
Best app
sloppy Joes 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Stunning, easy to use, email feature is awesome, and only .99, whats not to like.
"I like it!"
Dailywalk 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Great audio, ease of use & more important.... great eMail
I Like These Apps A Lot
HeartSongBlue 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I've been using the free version of this app and upgraded to this one for the longer email (which alone is worth the dollar to me). Overall, this buy can't be beat for a dollar: smooth, stable, nice features, and a desktop app that I'm not sure I'll use as much as I'm using the phone but nice to have. Would love to be able to make ringtones from my recordings. How about nFinity----rIngtone generator next? That would be sweet.
iPhone Version Works Well
Bad Nooz 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
An excellent App. However, the bonus desktop version creates files that will play on other desktops but lacks sound when sent by email to an iPhone. (I may be using an improper setting but don't think so.)
Free version better!
xlp 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
The free version worked like a charm. I have not been able to sync the "Pro" version with my computer yet. Tried to email the company but have not had any response yet. Should have stuck with the free version.
A Nice Setup.
Sidebysid 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
A lot of nice functionality, well worth a dollar and then some. I'm using it to record everything and achieving some very good results. I haven't used the desktop app as much but it's nice too. It's just that it's hard to beat the convenience of recording into the phone then porting over.
I will change rating after this is cleared up.
GeoKost 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Sent e-mail from their support web-site and immediately starting getting spammed.
Works Great BUT!
DonnM 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
The sound quality is amazing, but it wish that it sent in MP3 rather than CAF because most people dont have quicktime installed. SO I can not send voicenotes to anyone at work or play because of this issue. Other than that, it is good. Although, I find it strange there are no settings in the app at all.. But I still gave it five stars cause I was looking for quality sound recording.
DON'T BUY IT!!!!!
lady in red 2009 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
This recorder application is missing a lot of features, I prefer to pay an extra dollar or two and get a better recorder with more features
An Excellent Buy.
HeartSongBlue 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I've been using the free version of this app and upgraded to this one for the longer email (which alone was worth the dollar to me). Overall, this is an excellent buy - smooth, stable, lots of nice features, and a desktop app that I'm not sure I'll use as much but nice to have.
Best app
sloppy Joes 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Stunning, easy to use, email feature works awesome, and only .99, whats not to like. Gotta gave this app
Email feature not working
Wolfgang125 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
This application simply does not do what is being advertised. Email function not working!
There's a lot to like here.
Sidebysid 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
A lot of nice functionality and well worth a dollar (and then some). I don't get the negative reviews unless they just don't know what they're doing. I'm using the phone app to record everything and achieving some very good results. And, it's nice to get a desktop app that works together - - I'd like to see more apps do this. Probably the best dollar I've spent on an app.
Great application!
Lester47 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
E-mail works without problems.
Records Fine
Corona 777 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
Good recording software. However I had the free version and had a few recordings that I wanted to keep. The new software should import those recordings or at least let you know that they will be deleted once you remove that application from your iPhone. Low score for not snyching with iTunes automatically. This was a seamless operation with my iPod and a Belkin recorder. iTunes is the best place to manage and organise all these files. Thank you.
Speaker does not work
YERUSHALMI 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
From time to time the speaker feature stops working. This has to be fixed immediatly especialy to us that paid for the program
****LOVE IT****
Cherry Pepsie 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. Very simple to use, email is awesome and sound is great. No complaints. Highly reccomend this app. 5 stars all the way. Thanks :)
Best app
sloppy Joes 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Stunning, easy to use, email feature works awesome, simple and only .99, whats not to like. No issues at all have used both the free app and pro version Gotta gave this app.
Needs update
Tarot Reader 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Did not import recordings from free version & email does not work. Disappointing :-( Ok email works when you manually enter "FROM" address but I agree with others that basically useless unless delivered in mp3 format. Also wish I could import recordings from free version so I don't have to keep both apps on my iPhone.
App not ready
TxDigi 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
the app pulled off my recordings from the free version and wont see any of the Pro recordings. The whole channel method for files is very strange.
So gay
Drewskibro$ 1.0 stars Version: 1.0

B-flat 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
this ap s*x,,, records great , sounds great but will not email anything........ WTF
They use their own mail server!
RLandlaus 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Which means they have access to all email content, addresses etc. Why would they not let you use your own email account(s)?? I will change this rating when this is changed, so I can email voice recordings knowing these people can't do anything they want with my data!!!!!
Great program-easy to use
YERUSHALMI 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I use it every day to backup my thoughts and things to do.faster than typing - once u get used to it u don't understand how u were with out it. I recomend
Suitable only for backup recorder
drsunnyk 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
I am a physician and must dictate many patient referral letters and send them for daily transcription. These recording are usually 3-5 minutes in length. I use QuickVoice Free (then) Pro (now) as a backup to my Olympus digital pocket recorder. I also purchased the Mac QuickVoice software.
Worthy of Mention
phonetree 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I find this to be the best iphone recorder with the most features. You will recommend this one to your friends. It's user friendly with both the iphone and computer. I also like the fact the company continues to innovate and add awesome new features , likethe Pro Version, which is certainly worth the 99cents.
Keeps Getting Better
HeartSongBlue 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I've been using the free version of this app and upgraded to this one for the longer email (which alone was worth the dollar to me). Overall, this is an excellent buy - smooth, stable, lots of nice features. I didn't think I'd use the desktop app as much but am finding it very handy as well.
Incredible!
MikefromSTL 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
For the busy people who may need to send an email while driving, this really is a great app. The Voice to Text feature is absolutely incredible, and accurate! That's one of the best things (for me) about this one.
Excellent!
tohmamhoid 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
Voice to text works as well as Jott and better than others (I use various technical languague, which no one yet gets correct -- but this is in the top tier so far). The recording features are quick, responsive, and minimize the number of buttons needed to record (open app, press record). sending to voice to text could be streamlined, and they told me they are working on a note to self, so that will help (and is why it's 4 rather than 5 stars.
Buggy
Leroy657 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
I have used quickvoice on my mac for years and has always been a buggy program and the iphone version is the same. it is not fully tested and the people that make this app do not care, they will be happy to take your money though.
Quick voice pro
blacklee 1.0 stars Version: 1.1
I have this item and I can't have it on email can't send
One of the best apps! This recorder is SUPERIOR with its new features!
FatAttack 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
As a sound engineer and musician, I can appreciate all the features that Quickvoice offers in a great looking interface, and also the quality of voice recordings. Recordings are very clear, great file sizes, and the program is sleek and easy to use. Don't be fooled though, it does a whole lot without the need for complicated menus and buttons. It's so easy to record a song idea or one of my class lectures, and playback afterwards with syncing is a breeze. And now with Voice to Text Email, I can basically be driving and speaking an email or message without ever looking away from the road! My words become text with extreme accuracy. This feature is incredible and really puts Quickvoice above other recorders and really makes it a multi-use application! 99 cents? No brainer. Great job guys! I hope voice to text messages are coming soon!
Amazing voice-to-text!
RCFuzz 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
QuickVoice's voice-to-text feature is amazingly accurate. The nice thing is that the voice recording is also included with the text email so one can listen to the message as well. It's a killer app for the iPhone because it's so easy to record and send a voice message and equally as easy when receiving one... the iPhone's built-in QuickTime plays the message - no muss or fuss. Great job nFinity!
It does what its says (it does what you said)!!!
vaper 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
easy to use and incredibly accurate. you've gotta get this one. easily worth 5 times the price.
What have I done too you
Antdizzle 1.0 stars Version: 1.1
It sounds like a cool app but when I go to add the person I want to email it crashes buck or not it should work how many peoples dollars have you taken as long as that works for you I guess this app is great for the person responsible
Suitable as primary recorder
drsunnyk 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
I am a physician and must dictate many patient referral letters and send them for daily transcription. These recording are usually 3-6 minutes in length. I use QuickVoice Free (then) Pro (now) as a backup to my Olympus digital pocket recorder. I also purchased the Mac QuickVoice software.
Only transcribes 30 sec of text
Amenellie 2.0 stars Version: 1.1
VERY disappointed to find out app will only let u send 30-second files to be transcribed. MAJOR flaw of the app...what's the point of 30 sec?
My most used App!!!!
Thaking 3 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
I love this recorder. As a songwriter and a producer, it takes no time to jot down a quick Idea and move on to something else. It's very easy and convenient to use. I am in front of multi-thousand dollar recording units all of time. Many times it takes too long to engage, record and get an idea down. I'm not sure what some people complain about with this app. It's meant to record quick messages and send them as a quick email. If you want more features with bells and whistles, go and spend 50 +dollars on a device that is not that easy to use when you are trying to move quickly. For my friends who love to complain, learn how to use it properly and stop complaining about something that you are almost getting for free.
Excellent Voice to Text Conversions
Icebergie 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
If this app did nothing else but voice to text email I'd buy it because the transcriptions are spot on. The fact that it's also a great recorder is a nice plus.
It's freaking awful
vibrasonic 1.0 stars Version: 1.1
First, they say they're giving you a free application for your desktop. Well guess what, they make it sound easy as hell and it's really a nightmare. They took two weeks to reply to my email.
Email is weak
biode 2.0 stars Version: 1.1
I need to be able to address the messfae with voice too, or at a minimum use the addressbook and set a default from address!
Could be better
Klseyer 3.0 stars Version: 1.2
I was disappointed to find out after buying that it will ok convert to text only 30sec worth. The one message I sent worked great. So I would recommed this but only if u plan to send short emails of text. If not then just get the free version.
RAVE review
SoundBoard 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
I am a fan. This product has made my life simpler. I get more done in less time and it helps me stay on top of things. This app is a PRO. I love it. Buy it. Small money, big return.
Great App
cPina 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
As a business owner this makes me happy. I loved the free version, but the $.99 was well worth the upgrade. I get more done in less time. Love Quickvoice and the upgrade to Quickvoice Pro is way better! Make the switch
Nice Features; Nice Design
HeartSongBlue 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This app does a great job all the way around: lots of nice features with good attention to detail, easy to use, reliable (I trust it with important recordings). The voice to text email is nothing short of amazing. There's a 30-second limit on v2t transcriptions but I've found that it's enough to eliminate 95% of the emails I normally type on the iPhone.
Overview Omits Key Limitations
banished 1.0 stars Version: 1.2
Maximum of 20mb of data can be e-mailed in this app. In an hour of voice recording a meeting, 111mb were used, so a key meeting is stuck on my iPhone. Also, minimum 30 second voice-to-transcription. This information should have been elucidated in the apps's overview.
very nice

with the free comp version u can record stuff on quickvoice transfer it to the comp then to itunes and hav it as a song. very decent quality recording and impeccable email to txt feature
Excellent Voice to Text Conversions
Icebergie 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
If this app did nothing else but voice to text email I'd buy it because the transcriptions are spot on. The fact that it's also a great recorder is a great plus. Well worth a buck and then some.
One Of My Favorites
Sidebysid 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This is one of those apps that makes the iPhone the coolest device around. To be able to speak into my phone and have it show up as a text email blows me away. It's a great value too considering transcription services typically cost 5-cents a word (pays for itself in just a few emails). It occupies the top location on my phone (lower right of my task bar) and I expect it will be there for as long as I own an iPhone. Two thumbs up for the cool app.
A little disapponted
Kadesham 3.0 stars Version: 1.2
I upgraded from the free version because I have large files and the free version wouldn't let me email them. I was thinking I would be able to transfer them but cannot! Hopefully this feature will be added in the future.
Sound too low the e-mail function does not work Freezes up
Topcat 1999 1.0 stars Version: 1.2
Why not design something that actually works. The sound is too low the e-mail function does not work. Freezes up. What a waste of time and money.
does not work
Peter Lehner 1.0 stars Version: 1.2
you have to hand type e mail addresses, e mail almost never arrives, text conversions never worked. save your money!
Do NOT buy!
3JZ 1.0 stars Version: 1.2
Great product, but too bad if you want more than the THIRTY SECOND LIMIT! He doesn't advertise that! Just try a voice-operated recording in less than that to produce an email! He should also sell a speed reading program! This is a waste of time and your money.
Great app.
sloppy Joes 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Stunning, super, super easy to use, email feature works awesome, and is very simple to use. For only .99, how can u go wrong. This is not a complicated app click and record and follow steps to email or send as voice to text. Simple as that. It does the rest. Gotta have this app for sure. Thanks for the recent update. I'm glad I upgraded to the pro version.
Transcription Worth the Price!
miked378 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
The following is true: I have Google Voice set up so that I can call and mail myself voicemail transcripts of things I think of while driving that I want to remember when I get to my office. Yesterday, I called Google Voice while driving and said, "Charge your Bluetooth headset at work." The Google Voice transcript email came: "hello for me to do that work." Nonsense.
Beyond Cool!
harvard1 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
The Quick Voice recorders for the iphone and computer are great. Very refined and the voice to text email is beyond cool! Highly recommended.
Lots to Like.
phonetree 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
The app is even better now with the Spinvox voice to text mail (it's could use some better address book integration but still quite impressive as is). Probably the best recorder app in the store. It's definitely the best recorder deal with or without the accompanying desktop recorder. The voice-to-text and coming ringtone features make this a keeper even after 3.0's voice memos.
Buggy but pretty amazing
Kirk Dunkirk 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
Shortcomings are: trouble with entering mail addresses and a 30 sec limit on mail messages so it's like an answering machine. Also you're mailing sound files which are big, not text files. Ie slow and maybe expensive depending on ur cell plan. This is not the apps fault but something to keep in mind. But speech to text is scary accurate. And the recording functions are easy and work well. All this for a dollar!! I can't believe some of the reviewers who freaked out about shortcomings in a $1 piece of software.
Great job. Question/suggestions
Tek010 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
Terrific app. Recording job is brilliant. Mailing 20 mb ok but not enough. Can someone tell me how to save large audio recorded files out of iPhone ? May be on to the computer. Obviously I wouldn't want to delete or exhaust all the space on iPhone. Regds -- NM
The Only Recorder I'll Use
Professor Tech 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Out of all the recorders I've tried this is the only one I kept and use. Started with the free QuickVoice and then upgraded to this one. The recorder is smooth, efficient, stable, and easy to use but for me it's the voice to text emailing that truly sets it apart from the other recorders.
Works for me...
KSSW 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
So far it's working just fine for my needs. I bought the version with voice-to-email even though I didn't think I'd use it, but I do more and more. It's very accurate. Good app for a buck. REQUEST: please populate the 'from' email with my default email address!! I hate having to type it in repeatedly. This would make my rating higher.
The Only Recorder I'll Use
Professor Tech 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Of all the recorders I've tried this is the only one I've kept and use. As a general recorder it is very good (lots of nice features) BUT it's the voice to text emailing that truly sets it apart from all others. Voice2Text email is one of those features that makes your non-iPhone friends wish they had iPhones.
A Great Setup.
harvard1 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
The quick voice recorders for the iphone and computer are both great. Well refined and the voice to text email on the iPhone version is beyond cool! The ultimate complement is that I would buy it again. To those who don't know how to sync their recordings to computer, use the bonus desktop recorder for that. It's not exactly difficult.
Liking It A Lot
SweetStuff! 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
As a singer & a student in college I find myself using this app almost everyday. What an awesome useful tool. I love the transcribing of my email messages. I hate typing on the iPhone keybaord so this makes life a little easier. I am always looking for ways to simplify and this is one of them. Great app.
One of my best apps!
FatAttack 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
I love this recorder! Its features are robust, with beautiful graphics and a solid audio engine that gets me great file sizes that are super clear. This app feels and works better than the rest and I love the Voice to Text option. It's extremely cool to see how good it works. For the price, there's no need for any other recorder apps. Awesome!
Great Voice to Text Transcriptions
Icebergie 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
If this app did nothing else but voice to text email It would still be a great purchase (the transcriptions are spot on). The fact that it's also a great recorder (better than voice memos) is a plus. Correction: the previous reviewer has it wrong. The app does access the address book so there is no typing of email addresses required.
I recommend it
sloppy Joes 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This is an excellent app and well worth a dollar. Voice-to-text email is incredible. Plus, it's a great all purpose iPhone recorder too.... Efficient, easy to use, and stable. I haven't worked with the desktop bonus app yet (I'll update when I do) but it looks like it's going to be useful as well..
Fantastic
Celtic-Witch 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Just bought this and it works flawless even sitting in the charger, low voiced! Can't wait to receive my Bonus desktop version for my iMac. Was really surprised that there is also a voice attachment, so you can hear the message in your own voice as your read the text (recipient hears the infliction in your voice as they read, since text has no emotion per se). My sister was really impressed, and is getting for her PC! Great for work too. Thanks so much for such a useful and great app.--Valerie
Impressive
phonetree 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
The app is even better now with the Spinvox voice to text mail (I agree with a previous reviewer that it could benefit from better address book integration but even as is it's still quite impressive). Right now this is probably the best iPhone recorder available (for me anyways). And surprisingly, it's better than Apple's new Voice Memos thanks in part to the voice to text email. It should be interesting to see if Apple continues to add features to Voice Memos. As it stands now QuickVoice is still my recorder voice app of choice.
Nice App.
HeartSongBlue 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This app does a great job all the way around: lots of nice features with good attention to detail, and easy to use. The free version was very reliable and so I think this will be too. Where this app differs is the voice to text email which is nothing short of amazing. There is a 30-second limit on v2t transcriptions but I'm finding that even with the limit the app has effectively eliminated most, if not all, of my email typing. I hate typing on the iPhone so vooice-to-text has been a very welcome alternative. BTW: Probably half of my V2Ts are simply notes to self. Great for when you're driving along and want to email yourself a note.
Well Worth It
Sidebysid 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This is one of those apps that makes the iPhone the coolest device around. To be able to speak my emails into the phone and have it show up as a text email is great stuff. And, for all practical purposes it has effectively eliminated the bulk of my email typing on the iPhone. And, now I can safely email while in traffic or while doing other things without having to stop doing what I'm doing to "peck away." Two thumbs up: one for its utility and the other for its cool factor!
QuickVoice Pro 1.2 on iPod Touch
Cryptobyte 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
A friend with an iPhone showed me this and it seemed great for the iPod touch 2G so I went ahead and purchased. I got the complementing iMac software also. Running Tiger X.4.11 on a Core2Duo, I installed the App on the iPod and the iMac. I'm using the RapCap mic from ChillPill on the Touch and it works great with this App. The Speech to Text works extremely well without having to voice train the application. It worked well even in noisy atmosphere's. The feature to click the + symbol and send a Speech to Text email to one or many contacts and auto inserting your email address after the first time used, makes it real easy to put to use. Now I can compose short emails in the dark, or describe something I'm watching intensly without looking away to type. A compressed audio file goes along with the text. You get a progressbar to know your mail was sent.
Potential is exciting
mikeyro14 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
V2t works great! Very happy. Suggestions: -Convert to text before sending. -When typing a recipient, it should start a drop down from your address book(like the email app) -make the v2t an option from the email app(integrate)
A Great Setup.
harvard1 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
The quick voice recorders for the iphone and computer are both great. Well refined and the voice to text email on the iPhone version is beyond cool! The ultimate complement is that I would buy it again. Btw: 30-seconds transcriptions is typical for the industry and to get this for 99-cents is sick. Verizon charges $5 a month (every month) for SpinVox. I don't think the price will hold either. This app is probably going to go the way of the other transcription apps. This is a great deal.
Favorite app- well, besides Facebook ;)

As a college student this is one of my most used apps. I seriously use it for everything. I had the blue icon and upgraded to Pro and love the new features. 99cents? No complaints here. Voice 2 text is very cool feature. How so accurate? Brilliant app. Kudos!!!!!!

Never sent any of my voice to text not a single one and the voice recorder was much less clear than the free version don't bother with this app
Great app
SirFrisco 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
I love this application. While I've only had it a few days, I love that I can send a voice message translated into a text email to someone. It even allows for my 'southern drawl' accent and still gets the words right. I've used it many times to send a quick message to someone and it's so much faster than typing it out! The only thing I don't like is that I cannot see the words being sent in the email until after I've sent the message. It would be nice to have the translation pop up in the outgoing email so that it can be editted before it is sent. Other than that I give it *two thumbs up*!!!
Great App!
toGeorge 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
I don't like to type - especially on a small keyboard. I am very impressed with the accuracy of the voice to text. It would be great if the voice to text could interface with the texting application. Maybe the next version...?
Quick response from author.
SpeedyRjax 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
I apologize for an earlier post. The author responded but the mail went to my gmail spam box. I had ASSUMED that since I had received an automated email (NOT SPAM) that all mail would come through. Very sorry.
Surprisingly accurate!
Kshgl 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This app is so accurate at converting speech to text for email that at first I thought it might actually be a speech-to-text service (instead of software) with someone in webland listening and transcribing your recording. It's a really cool app!
So Many Ways To Use This
ReservationsHere 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This works great! Much better than I imagined it would. I am using it to dictate articles I'm writing, while I'm away from my computer. I seem to get great ideas while out walking the dog and this gives me a way to capture them and have it typed up in an email waiting for me in my inbox by the time I get back.
Works well
Slydell 5.0 stars Version: 1.2

Must have app for the iPhone!
FatAttack 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This app is great. It's quick and easy to use and sync, plus its a recorder with Voice to text and emailing which is awesome. The desktop app is first class and complements it nicely. It's a pro product that has the features and desktop counterpart to really set it above all the other recorders. What else do you want for a dollar?

Speak into the phone and it converts your voice to text. Amazing.
Not Perfect, but Still A Good Thing
BoLaw 4.0 stars Version: 1.2
I sent myself an email recording, to be transcribed. It took close to 20 minutes before the transcription was delivered. Despite having spoken slowly and articulated every word, the message missed portions of some sentences, and some words were just wrong. (I sing classical music, so my articulation wasn't likely at fault.). Nevertheless, this is a good app offering. I especially like the fact that the email had both the completed trascription and the original recording as an attachment. Not perfect, but what a cool world we're living in!
