Loved this game in real life and transition to iPad a is remarkable feat. Game play still is tense with disasters coming at inopportune times. You can never rely on a monument strategy per se since each game is random with the tile draw. Adjusting strategy on-the-fly is one of the reasons this game has limitless re playability in my mind.

This is an excellent implementation of one of my favorite boardgames. It plays very well on the small iPod Touch screen. They did a great job making use of the space. I was concerned by the constant dialogs and such, but the programmers thoughtfully provided a way to turn them off. That means it will be great for beginners who need the walkthrough as well as the seasoned players who don't. This is a great game and I am happy to own it. Now get to work on Tigris & Euphrates, Codito!

Just downloaded it, been waiting for this app, but balked at the orig price, it was too high, price dropped, thought about it, still little higher, but purchased it, worried it may not drop lower, might go back up. I have not played the board game, but, looks like another good Reiner Knizia game. I believe this is an old game, the first or one of the first Reiner created. Enjoy his, in real board game version, Lost Cities The board game, Lords of the Rings Confrontation, and Samurai. Will post more when I have played a few more games, still trying to figure out the game play. A few complains about the app, and apps in general. The rules need work, they are not clear. They need rewording. About how they are displayed: The papyrus paper is OK but the font or maybe the color or the letters needs to be darker. I find the rules not easy on the eyes. Also that animation zipping along under the papyrus is annoying, I am trying to read and understand the rules, remove the animation, please. To all app developers, please included within the app, printing is coming to the iPad, a PDF copy of the hardcopy board game rule book, or a link straight to a PDF on a website for printing. Some of us are not ready for a paperless world.

The graphics in this game are incredible and Sage has brought animation to a new level. This game has a good deal of strategy involved and so the replay value here is truly excellent. THANK you Sage for another (also Medici) masterful game. Yours and Small World are my favorites - bar none. pratchettfan777
