By Ryan Wood on November 11th, 2010 Disney drops three new apps and a big update Tuesday. Disney had a busy App Store morning yesterday when it released four new apps. Well, three brand new apps and one very important update. The update moves the hugely popular Radio Disney app, with over one million downloads, into the world of iOS4 functionality. This update brings multitasking support allowing users to run their radio in the background while interacting with other apps. Radio Disney, as always, is a free ad supported app that allows users to request songs, learn of local Radio Disney events, and send shout outs to Radio Disney and the on-air personalities populating its airwaves. I've been waiting so long for this app. The only reason why you don't have 5 stars is because you have to open your web browser just to make a request, shout outs, etc. Add that feature to this app without having to open the web browser, and those 5 stars are yours! But for now.. 
Great App but Bad for Stations?

This is a great iPhone app for easily listening to Radio Disney on the go or just at home, possibly even better/more convient than tuning in your local Radio Disney station on a real radio. It does a nice job of linking to the local station websites where you can find out about local appearances and promotions but at the expense of hearing local commercials which can ultimately hurt the local syations' ability to stay on the air. I hope that future updates to the app enable geo-targeted streaming of local content or this could be the beginning of the end for Radio Disney "in your city." Good job Radio Disney! Thank goodness!!! Was listening to radio Disney on Live 365 app. But they wanted to charge me $71 a year for it after the trial. Now all the Radio Disney I can get for Free!!! This is good since we don't get it here in Hawaii.

I have been looking for an app that plays Radio Disney, my favorite station, for 6 months. When surfing the App store on my iPod Touch 1st generation, I came across this app and immediately became excited. Then I tried to download it. A pop-up appeared saying I needed a microphone. PLEASE either eliminate this requirement or create an iPod touch version!
