Posted 11/03/2010 at 4:56am | by J.R. Bookwalter If you prefer Google Calendar to Apple’s iCal (and their MobileMe cloud syncing solution), developer Readdle has you covered with an updated version of their slick Calendars app, bringing Google Tasks and universal compatibility to the table. Readdle, the developer of iOS productivity apps such as ReaddleDocs and PDF Expert, has announced Calendars 2.0, a significant update to their Google-loving app for tracking events and information on the search giant’s online calendar. Headlining the features of Calendars 2.0 is new full integration with Google Tasks. Users can now create, delete and modify tasks from within the app, with all edits being synchronized back to their Google account immediately. iPad users will also appreciate Calendars 2.0, which now sports universal compatibility so the same app works great on either the iPhone/iPod touch or on Apple’s tablet device. The new version features a redesigned user Read More

And the iOS4 app updates just keep on coming. We’re finding more and more by the day. Whether it’s adding support for the iPhone 4′s awesome retina display or taking advantage of new APIs within iOS4, we’re still watching for them. Here’s the ones we found this time around, and as always, if you see any we missed, be sure to let us know in the comments! Readdle is an incredibly easy to use app that allows you to not only view all kinds of files right on your iPhone, but also allows you to manage and save attachments. It’s one of the better apps we’ve found to handle documents, not to mention reasonably priced. Not only did Readdle’s newest update add multitasking support, it also adds support for USB file transfer through iTunes. Better yet, you can now save attachments via the Mail app. [iTunes Link] WeeMee is an incredibly Read More

Calendar16 Sun, 01 Aug 2010 19:46:43 UTC +00:00
For the past 3 years, Readdle has grown to become one of the most successful developers of business applications for the iPlatform. Today marks their 3 year anniversary and they are celebrating with all of you by giving away 1 of 3 iPads and selling all their iDevice apps for only $0.99 (48 Hour sale). That’s right, you can now pick up some great productivity apps like Take A Note, ReaddleDocs (both iPhone and iPad) and Scanner Pro for only a buck. A lot of people really don’t know the history of Readdle. Premiering August 2007, they were the first company to provide iPhone users with a document reader and attachment saver, a whole year before the introduction of Apple’s iTunes AppStore. Since then, they have continued to grow by providing high quality apps that people can actually use on a daily basis. Many of them were reviewed here at TouchMyApps. Read More
Readdle Brings Google Calendars to Your iPhone

Posted 06/28/2010 at 6:15am | by J.R. Bookwalter Despite four generations of updates, the iPhone’s built-in Calendar app leaves a lot to be desired. If you tend to favor Google Calendar anyway, the creators of ReaddleDocs have a new solution for you: Calendars. Readdle Inc. recently announced the availability of their latest app, Calendars. The company made a name for themselves early on with the versatile ReaddleDocs app (available for both iPhone/iPod touch and iPad) and Scanner Pro, but Calendars brings a better iPhone solution for users of Google Calendar. Calendars easily manages your calendars online and offline, with a unique interface that allows you to move events with drag-and-drop simplicity and easily navigate between days, weeks and months. Add events in a single tap, exactly like the web-based Google Calendar on your desktop, or navigate between days with lightning speed thanks to the app’s navigation controls. Readdle’s Calendars also allows Read More

Posted 02/10/2010 at 10:31am | by J.R. Bookwalter Everyone loves a software update, especially when it bulks up with new features that users are clamoring for. Such is the case with the popular ReaddleDocs for the iPhone and iPod touch, which just got a refresh to 2.1 -- and a host of new features to boot. ReaddleDocs was one of the earliest iPhone apps to manage documents, view files and save attachments, which went a long way toward making the device a lot more usable, especially to business users. Among its tricks are the ability to read Microsoft Office documents, save e-mail attachments, read books on the go with its fantastic PDF reader and to share files with your friends. Following closely on the heels of the recent (and extensive) 2.0 update, ReaddleDocs 2.1 adds a handful of new and very welcome features. Dropbox and Google Docs integration has been added Read More

By Rene Ritchie, Wednesday, Feb 3, 2010 | Every week a few of us from team TiPb, bloggers and forum crew alike, will bring you our current favorite, funnest, most useful App Store apps, WebApps, jailbreak apps, even the occasional accessory, web site, or desktop app if the mood strikes us. As long as they’re iPhone (or iPod touch, and soon… iPad!) related, they’re fair game. Confession: in all the iPad hubbub last week, Rene didn’t get around to posting everyone’s pick. Bright side, you get almost twice as many this week! So who’s on deck this double-dose and what are our picks? Find out after the break! Apple’s new MobileMe Gallery app is awesome. I really like the way it previews photos at the top (just like Apple TV) and you can easily share photos, albums or movies. Adding friend’s galleries are bonus too! ReaddleDocs gets 2.0 update with extreme makeover
Calendar16 Wed, 30 Dec 2009 23:02:44 UTC +00:00
Readdle, one of the leaders in document solutions for the iPhone/iPod Touch, has just released the 2.0 update for their excellent ReaddleDocs app. I previously tested out the app and found it to be a great file manager solution on the go. Aside from the slew of features bundled with the app, you do get 512 MB of free data storage on the Readdle Store, which makes having access to all your files remotely an extremely easy task. With the 2.0 update, Readdle have implemented a completely new interface that not only looks amazing but is also more user friendly. Here’s what’s new: If you’re in need of an app that acts as a central hub for all your files while you’re away from your main computer, I highly recommend you check out ReaddleDocs 2.0. And the ability to now download attachments directly to your iPhone from any number of email Read More

July 23, 2009 by Lacy     iPhone App Review: ReaddleDocs Reviewed by: Lacy Hanson -AppStore Link Price:$4.99 ReaddleDocs is the app I have been waiting for. As we all have experienced, the iPhone is not the easiest device to download a document onto. ReaddleDocs solves that problem for us quite nicely. The app has several ways to access documents. It offers support for MobileMe, Public iDisk, Box.net, and many others along with it’s own Readdle Storage account provided to all ReaddleDoc users. In addition to those numerous options, you can also download documents right from your browser into ReaddleDocs. It also has a feature that if you are viewing a webpage outside of the ReaddleDocs browser, all you have to do is add an “r” in front of the “http” address section and it will open in ReaddleDocs so you can download the document. It will even download and unzip Read More
Readdle has developed quite a few applications for the iPhone already, with the most popular ones being productivity and business applications like ReadleDocs, but don’t let that fool you because they also develop games. Readdle’s new game Penetrator is a simple yet addictive side-scrolling game where you must navigate your spaceship through an artificial asteroid.  Penetrator is based on the classic copter-like gameplay where you control the up and down movement of the spaceship by holding your finger on the screen to go up and releasing it to go down.  The idea of the game is to make it as far as you can through the asteroid. Penetrator contains 3 different locations with their own unique physics along with 7 different bonuses that are both helpful and dangerous.  Each level is generated in real-time so you will never play the same level twice.  Penetrator also features dynamic sound effects, some solid Read More

ReaddleDocs - iPhone Document Viewer Now On Sale
Calendar16 Wed, 13 May 2009 21:54:37 UTC +00:00
ReaddleDocs is an iPhone and iPod touch document viewer that was released way back in August 2008.  The application has since gone on to receive a few favorable reviews, and has now become one of the more popular document viewers at the App Store.  Readdle, the creators of ReaddleDocs, have decided to put the application on sale for a limited time on the eve of its next update. ReaddleDocs is more than a document viewer, it is also a complete file management solution for your mobile device.  ReaddleDocs combines a network file sever, web storage client, web browser, file manager, and its powerful document viewer into a single application.  It also allows you to transfer documents to your device over WiFi and 3G in a number of ways, and you can send them via email to share with others. Readdle is Fantastic!
Dave 108 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
If you want to have easy access to Word, PDF, Excel, or HTML files on your iPhone, then this is the app for you. Don't be fooled by the ignorant reviewers making up flaws about this program that don’t exist or complaining about $15 for the app. This program works perfectly and is the best $15 I have ever spent on productivity.
It does what I need it to do and does it well
Olecranon 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.3
I needed an app for me to read PDF and MS Office documents offline (i.e. documents are stored on the iPhone itself). It seems that I downloaded the updated version because I don't seem to have the same problems some of the other reviewers have had. I have some fairly large files (10Mb PDF), though I don't read books or novels with my iPhone (I imagine those files may be larger). I can go to landscape view. I have around 50 documents that I can reference anytime now. Overall, I'm quite happy with the app because it adds functionality that I need to a device that I've already plunked a lot of money into.
Not as "unlimited" as advertised...
Foolish Frost 0.0 stars Version: 1.0
It seems that without streaming the files, you can only files up to 100k. ESPECIALLY with PDFs. Keep this in mind.
It works
David2008 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I don't understand the low rating. It does what they say it does, and works easily. What more do people want? Maybe some day there will be a better-faster-easier-cheaper solution, but for now this one does the job. And $15.00 was not too much to solve the problem I had with not being able to store documents that I needed to have available.
Kindle Killer
Bretthowell 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
Just returned my Amazon Kindle. Readdle and iPhone (especially with landscape mode) blew it away for technical books in PDF. Kindle $349 vs Readdle $15, how can anyone consider that expensive? To top it off, I contacted support (about landscape, just before release) and the were quick, responsive, and friendly. Best of all open to feature ideas ;-) Thanks Readdle for making it possible to carry my entire reference book library, and saving me $$$ in the process.
This is Awesome!
dcb76107 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I tested with files up to 50mb and it worked great! Most of my docs are 1.5mb at the most. Plus, once you get them on the iPhone/iTouch you do not have to have access to the internet to read them. This will work out well for me.
Don't waste your money
iphone-user1385 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Just bought the app and can't get it to open a ~430kb xls file that is critical to my business.
So far - Very Good!
TREX_444 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.2
I use the iphone for work as well as personal. I work with a consulting firm so I get all kind of files - PDF's, Word docs and Excel spreadsheets - all have various formatting and images especially proposal and RFP docs.
I like it.
razznofrazz 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
With the new ability of landscape view it fills the bill for a way to download a large document and be able to use it even when i'm not connected to wifi.
This app disappointed me
alsjdfkjka 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
After paying the hefty price, I create an account at the Readdle web site -the app store option which offers a storage amount of 512MB. And then I proceed to upload my ebook which is just 86MB, but I couldn't because it exceed the 10MB maximum per file. If I have 512MB to stored data, I would like to use as I please even if I upload a 512MB ebook.
updates?
M&ET 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I bought this app and think it is great - solved the prob of access to my docs. But I cannot update without paying for it again? If I try to contact the company on thier web site I just get errors and told to report it as a bug...but then we are in a loop!
Much better than Files
SportsMom15 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.3
Purchased Files, could not get it to work despite many tries at troubleshooting. ReaddleDocs was purchased and I was able to upload files and put them on my phone without any problems.
I use it daily
DMiller1 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.3
ReaddleDocs has so many features and the document viewer is great! I especially like the full screen option, the ability to email document attachments direct to your ReaddleDocs account. It has also been very stable on my iPhone.
Fantastic! At last a pdf and doc reader for the iphone and PCs
JanaPainter 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.3
This program works fantastically! I had a reference book I wanted to access on my iphone without having to open my email and read the copy I emailed myself and wanted to be able to bookmark my pages. I can do that easily with this program that works very easily and just as described. It was well worth $15 bucks! I had no problems with it whatsoever and am really enjoying the PDF and Doc access as files rather than email attachments. YAY!
Ok but could be better
cokebear71 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
Works well with PDF but no landscape view. The program would be huge if it had that feature. Program crashes often on larger PDF files. Price is a bit high. Have not tried DOC files yet. Needs improvement but could be 5 star with those issues resolved.
Good but buggy
JHanlon 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
A much needed application that I wanted to like. I've tried the other competitor and it too is not ready for prime time (but costs far less.) I have a Readdle account and have downloaded txt, doc and pdf files. This application does not display my doc files accurately and chokes on large ones. It confuses my txt files and tries to call them html and then not display them. PDF files seem to be the most accurately presented. Files will not delete at times. Needs more work ... soon I hope because I have hopes for this one.
Update
Juriswilliams 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Update to Readdle:
This could be a 5-star app, but...
ZenInc 5.0 stars Version: 1.1.1
This review is based on the new version of Readdle Docs, released on 12/19/08. I previously reviewed the app and gave it 3 stars. I am increasing my rating to 5 stars based on the new version and the outstanding customer support.
Flexible, robust file browser
The Beave 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.3
Though not being able to save files from the web is an iPhone OS ommision, Readdle Docs fills this gap perfectly. The Readdle browser works to save most web docs (except PDFs embedded within an HTML frame) and most pages (except password-protected websites). But you can also email docs and use a web interface to download docs. Much easier than having to sync in iTunes, especially if you're not at home. The support has been fast and helpful. Well worth the price.
Awesome app!
sw33tchick 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.3
This is the most helpful app out there! I am a full time college student and live a very busy lifestyle, this app makes reading my textbooks on the go possible! I was constantly having problems because alot of my teachers put PDF's and word documents online for me to read for homework, but now it is possible to read them ehereever i am! I dont know about other people, but this app has been a lifesaver! It is wonderful, and there are plenty of different ways to get the documents sent into the app without even needing wifi! It might seem expensive to others looking at it, but once you see all it can do and how helpful it truly is, it is well worth the price!
Getting Better
gillespie.ken 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
A little on the expensive side but it's getting better. The last update was much needed. Thanks.
Cheap at twice the price
Dan652 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This is an awesome application. I paid $15 and now it is $10 (go figure), but I really don't care. Like cats, nothing is too good for our iPhones! If I had paid twice as much, it would still have been worth it.
the 'killer Kindle' hun?
Charleenow 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.4
I think this is a extremely cool app on a portable device. However, for book lovers-hard copies can't be beat but for true readers, the AmazonKindle is awsome. Reasons Can store many books on one device. Can adjust font sises. What is so cool about this app is PDFs, online storage of documents and it works on the three major OSs. Thanks but don't say it is a 'Kindle Killer because they both offer something unique to both users. More to say, I would rate this 5 stars except, I want at least 10 MB file upload etc. Maybe the Iphone can't handle that large a file. Some PDFs are large! This app is awsome. One can store most owner's manuals online or on their Iphone or I guess Ipod Touch too!!! There probably are some work arounds to the large file size. May find a PDF splitter, like one would find a MP3 splitter or a wav splitter etc
drcakmur
drcakmur 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.4
This is the software I was expecting from the very first day of IPhone. Now I can read my Office programs send it to my associates and finally I do not have to go back to my PDA to find out what I have on my Office Files... The price I paid is just ridiculous compared what I missed all the time before I had this software... My compliments to these guys... By the way the service they gave to me at the beginning was also exceptional...
Does not work with purchased eBooks
erich6 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
Looks like this software has improved with the latest release but it does not support PDF books bought from eBooks.com...which means that it won't work for your standard PDF eBooks you can buy on the web.
Works well...

I can read my pdf's, txt's, and doc's w/o problem... I like how the program will convert coding in my doc files so that I'm seeing italic and bold and not the html itself (html coding done for later upload to a website)... Largest pdf file I've been open so far is over 200 pages and 8mb in size though there is a slight delay between page opening, I assume due to the size of the file... Have opened graphic intensive html pages as well... Really like being able to password protect my files... Already sent a note to support asking for ftp access, that would make this program ideal... Update: while ftp may not be in the works, support contacted me the next day to help me out with my webDav problems and a solution was found...

It's a great app, and does what it says - what more does anyone want?
Exactly what I need

I was using OneDisk for iDisk and another product for the Flash Drive functionality. Well, I decided it was redundant to use two programs to achieve the same effect and that's why I got ReaddleDcos. It's completely worth it for me and I heard that syncing your local files to iDisk is coming soon. This will complete the integration of your flash drive and iDisk! :)
So far so good

Readdle company definately are polishing their products, I was hesitant to buy this app, but after reading TUAW (and other great portals) review I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, this app benefiting much for my perfomance during work with documents and managing files on my iDevice. Helpfull and responsive support team creates feeling of good service and therefore - good product.

Gotta love this app for its PDF files reading ability! I'm using a lot of PDF's during my work, and it's almost single app that can read huge PDF files properly without shutting down and other bugz.
Really awesome!
