Ok for Limited Use

After using RDP Lite, I can say that WinAdmin is currently a better choice for regular use. If you only need to access a server every once and a while, this free app will do. It's main flaw is the interface. Like MochaSoft's VNC apps, RDP Lite also relies on an interface where you switch mouse modes. The first mode moves you around the screen. The second mode is the mouse on the remote desktop. The switching back and forth becomes a pain. I prefer WinAdmins tap commands which are easy to learn and increases the usability. However, this one is free! So you have nothing to lose by trying it out.

I bought WinAdmin, another remote desktop client for the iPhone, and later went to check this out. I was disappointed with this in comparison simply because this software only allows for two server connections. Additionally I cannot connect to multiple servers at the same time as WinAdmin allows me to do. There is no right click functionality in this application making it pretty useless for working with Windows. WinAdmin also supports logging into a Windows domain and supports way more screen resolutions. Overall, this isn't bad but I still know that my $11.99 was well spent on the competing product.

Ok folks, what part of free don't you get. The darn thing is FREE. Sure there is another competitive product available, and I happen to own it. But guess what not only is it not free but they don't even offer a free "light" version. At least the people at MochaSoft offer a limited feature version of their product so you can get an idea of what the full paid version is like. I purchased WinAdmin when it was the only RDP client available, and guess what it isn't perfect either (shocker). Don't forget that the cost of WinAdmin is DOUBLE that of the full MochaSoft RDP client.

Being a system administrator in charge of over 30 machines, this app doesn't cut it. For a very ocasional home user, this free app is better than nothing. I wanted to test this app in order to evaluate the core programming. Sadly, it is no where as polished, intuitive, responsive, or feature rich as WinAdmin. If you only use RDC once in a blue moon, you can't beat a free app, but any sort of power user should pay the 12 bucks and get WinAdmin, you won't regret it!.

Does not work with high security

Could not connect to any of my servers. They all use high security settings. The description mentions that this Lite version can only use 40 bit (weak) encryption yet a Full version is not available. I figured I'd give it a go not realizing that my servers would not accept the connection. Since I could not connect, I can't judge this app by anything other than its connection setup screen which was easy enough to use but only offered two screen resolutions and could have been laid out a little better.

Before more of you nubs cry "Mac support", understand that RDC is specific to Windows and is not a protocol designed for use with the Mac. Try understanding what an app is meant for before you post bad reviews. Use their VNC client and VNC over ARD or OSXVNC if you want remote desktop access to your Mac. This works perfectly with my Windows Server 2003 box (even though the info states XP only). MochaSoft has made a lot of nice terminal emulation apps for the PC over a lot of years. It's nice to see them developing the same great apps on the iPhone now! Right-click support in the free version would have been nice, but that's just the cheapskate in me talking :-) Nice work!

Can't wait to but the full version.

I use remote desktop daily being a technician for a alarm company. I schedule my own work and most the time I'm away from the office. This program far exceeds the usability of the remote desktop program for my work supplied WM6 phone. Mostly because of the ability of the iPhones detailed display and the touch capabilities. Zooming is great, flick a finger and it glides around the screen. I see some carry over of images ghosting over the start menu at the bottom of the screen. It has also shut down a couple times in my first 30 minutes but I'm overall thrilled to have this. Tomorrow I will be selling iPhone to everyone in the office. This should be expanded in a third version to also connect to your mac OSX computer at home.
