Although there's been a flurry of development around the AirPlay service for iOS 4.2 devices, iTunes and the current iOS-based Apple TV model, expectations for ever seeing the instant-play capability on the older Mac OS X-based Apple TV models were quite low. I think I’m with Angi on this one. I generally don’t pay for apps. But, if I really need an application because it performs certain tasks, and I can’t find anything in the free section, I have to buy it. Remote Jr. by Pratik Kumar is definitely one of those applications. I’m one of those nerds that is constantly trying to find a way to incorporate my iPhone into my everyday life, thus eliminating other remotes and devices. Like when my MacBook is connected to my TV, instead of having an actual wireless keyboard and mouse, I use my iPhone with an app like Logitech’s Touch Mouse App. This proved to be very handy as I could sit quite a distance from my TV and MacBook and pull up webpages, search movies on YouTube, and click through photos. Works - need a users manual or some instructions

App worked right away as far as connecting to the helper app on my Mac. I can see the Mac's desktop as promised, better than trying to use VNC or something like that. I believe it is trying to mimic the Front Row remote, but I'm not sure how to translate that into commands for Sling Player for example. When I figure out how to use it I would raise my rating, software seems to be fine.

Amazing app- works like a charm. Great interface; very mac-like. The best part, though, is that even before purchasing, I requested additional support for several music apps for which I intended to use the program. I got an incredibly fast response and within the week, the developer released a new version of the helper program with my suggestions added. Now that's what I call service! Great work- highly recommended!

It's exactly what i looking for. I have a macmini as multimediasystem with frontrow directly without keyboard and mouse and no monitor only connected with a projector. I do need anymore do start my projector for installing software or some problems with my mini just only over the Remote Jr. . I am able to manage my itunes collection and full frontrow remote and i can see directly on my iphone-screen what happend.

I do a number of Apple Keynote presentations and just purchased MacBook Air to provide additional portability and style. Often, I am doing one-on-one presentations which means that the computer screen is facing the viewer and away from me. Having a traditional "clicker" or remote doesn't work because I'm not actually looking at the presentation with them. So, I started the search to see if there was ANY way to use my iPhone (original version) to actually see the screen on the phone including elaborate builds and transitions.

I initially purchased the Lite version and decided to take advantage of the in-app upgrade to get the full version. When it didn't work I contacted the developer, who acknowledged the bug and said the update with the fix had already been submitted and is waiting for approval by Apple. He then went over and above the call of duty and gave me a promo code for the full version! Overall I love this app. The only complaint I have is that when you zoom in (landscape mode) it doesn't always refresh the whole view, leaving some parts of the desktop screen missing from view on the iPhone screen. I would also like to see support for multiple monitors added in a future update.
