Roambi - Visualizer

Creative document viewer, but ...

Basically, you upload your data document to the Roambi server, which formats it according to one of its templates, and then sends it to your iPhone all nice and pretty. There are some small things that need working on, though. Large Excel spread sheets upload fine, but there is no quick find feature, meaning you have to scroll like crazy to get to the end. If you use the Go To feature, it does not go directly to your goal, bur rather scrolls automatically, taking just as much time as you would have to do it yourself. So for large data files, it's impractical. I would love to use it for an important spreadsheet I have with 1000+ entries and multiple columns. The columns work out fine, but the inability to go quickly to the end, and then back, makes it hard to use. (Also, if you have confidential data, you have to trust their privacy policy since you're basically running your data through their server.)

Great visual interface. Multiple applications if you use your imagination to see the possibilities. We quickly converted files to graphs; less than 7 minutes we were displaying.

A Very Poor Choice, Be Careful

This application has a very insidious draconian user agreement which you should definitely not Accept. It is a way of spreading and protecting their ideas and blocking other people who may have similar ideas from pursuing a similar line of development - and all of this, at a very early stage of iPhone and SmartPhone development. Very Harvard-esque and in some ways, fundamentally against the grain of the creative spirit that is being launched in our nation, at a time when we need all the inspiration we can get.

Looks cool, BUT . . .

I thought this would be a perfect app for my business, but I simply couldn't get it to work. The website is HORRIBLE! Even the videos don't explain clearly what you're supposed to do. I tried to download a small to average sized excel file, but I was never able to get it to work in the tab visualizer and I couldn't even figure out how to try doing it in any of the other visualizers. I've contacted "support". I'll update when/if they respond.

Finally an app for the enterprise which a) does not just take the existing world of xcel spreadsheets and shrinks the screen but fundamentally redefines how xcel data should be presented on smaller devices and b) is easy to use, requires no manual and is free. Very powerful, I look forward to more standard templates in the upcoming versions....

WOW! RoamBI it is an Amazing application. I can’t believe how good the application is. I love it. I really like the pie chart and the viewer of the bar chart. My favorite chart type is the Catalyst. Good Job. I will keep tracking this app. Looking forward for new versions and styles.With this application we are Going to the next level of Mobil Business Intelligence.

Talk about the Killer App!!

can i just say WOW!! this tool is insanely functional, beautifully designed UI, easy & intuitive to use, and miraculously it seems to work work and work without flaws! i'm an exec producer in the film industry and think this app will make a huge impact on my ability to evaluate our film sales, distribution prospects and marketing data (which which tends to be ever changing while on the road at int'l fests and markets). it could possibly even give me the ability to have an upper hand on distribution negotiations. i have to say since i've been scouring the app store upon it's opening last summer, it's not often that you come across an app that is both aethstetically rich as it is robust with functionality (especially a business related app). and i have yet to even dig into any of the back-end components... very impressive, i look forward to digging deeper in to see what this "Killer App" can really do!! and to top it all off, it's FREE...thank you =))
